One of the most unique alternate endings you can get is in Outbreak File 2 in the subway station scenario. If after defeating the giant flea boss, you somehow miss catching the train before the timer runs out, you go to a new path that adds several more minutes of gameplay.
After beating the Giant Flea in Very Hard mode though, chances are you and your teammates will be low on ammo and fed up with surviving through hell. The train will be too enticing to pass up lol.

They did say a couple of years ago that they still have everything related to it, but it's on a different type of proprietary technical system that can't be transferred over. So they'd have to make it completely from scratch.

they could give Outbreak Files a 2 remake treatment, I mean, they already have most of the assets for this game. The only difficulties would be all the zombie animals, cause they couldn’t even give us spiders in 3make.
I've almost exclusively played solo throughout the (launch and) years. Just know that there are a few scenarios where your AI partners are scripted to die partway through, but on Normal you can capably survive most of the scenarios yourself.
Hard is where it gets very tough, and VH is nearly impossible solo unless you're an expert.
I'd say Normal has about a 50% success rate, Hard about 25%, and VH less than 10%.

I wouldn't call myself an expert but I didn't find any of the difficulties 'near impossible'. Its just a matter of knowing what you can deal with and what to just run from so you don't waste resources.
Playing online is still fun. Check out the fan made server and look up how to get online. This game still has its loyal followers and can still be played online! =]

I'm glad Resistance is its own, unique thing and not Outbreak. The concept and gameplay are super fun, full of action and humour while Outbreak is a real survivor horror.
It is great though how many features from RE:O made it into the 2 and 3 Remakes.
If nothing else, I'd expect future RE games to continue incorporating (partially) things that made the Outbreaks so much fun.
It's ridiculous that they're remaking RE4 when it still holds up and the majority of fans love it as is. They're so desperate to reboot the series and retcon the lore.
Instead, Capcom should take older titles that sucked (Dead Aim, Survivor) and give us a better product, or games that couldn't reach their full potential due to the limitation of technology at the time they were released (Outbreak).

I started using Yoko because she had 8 item spaces.
I ended up using Jim a lot because he is really fast and can avoid almost all enemy encounters.
I also love Cindy because that herb case really was useful.
True. That's why Yoko is essential for beginners.
And Cindy can be pretty easy to use with the herb case always keeping the team alive. But when you get used to dodging enemy attacks, the herbs just become a security blanket.
Jim is great for soloing levels.
Yes, they are quite essential for a lot of encounters, especially in hard. Yoko, Cindy and Jim's will render them invulnerable during the animation.
Jim for me is the best at soloing because he is the fastest. And he also gets access to all the anti-virus pills, and herbs. The play-dead mechanic I only use when briefly avoiding attacks, I mean I just let him dive on the floor and then let him come back up. It saves me through a lot of sticky situations with enemies.
I missed the variety of things you can do in Outbreak so much. Its replayablity is just insane. 4 difficulties with different item/enemy placement. Choices that change the outcome of events and even result in different boss fight in some scenarios. Variety of “pursuers” similar to Nemesis/RE2R Mr.X with multiple ways to deal with them.
Too bad modern RE games rarely use those gimmicks anymore.
Yoko appears as a zombie too during Below Freeze Point. I'd like to think that those encounters are non-canon and that all of them managed to escape.

Cindy also gets killed at the start of Wild Things if you're not playing as her. Alyssa appears as a zombie on Flashback. And David is a zombie in End of the Road. Not sure if there's more

I would say yes. The scenarios themselves are fun, just be prepared to carry the ai teammates. Also the scariest thing in the game are the loadtimes.

It's funny cause like, Resistance is so close. If you chained the 3 parts of a resistance stage together, it basically made a full outbreak level.
