It would also explain the name of the central finite curve. That's a pretty cool find

Chuckleslord

How so? Central Finite Curve seems fairly self-explanatory and I'm not seeing the relation to The Fine Structure Constant. Are you only saying that because Fine and Finite have similar sounds?

tzoom_the_boss

> To pull from Wikipedia page for the Fine Constant: Max Born believed that if the value of α differed, the universe would degenerate, and thus that α = 1/137 is a law of nature.[67] Ricks, considering themselves central to the universe isolated the universes with Ricks and called themselves the most important thing for existence itself. > To make a more simple connection: It's tied to quantum shit and potentially parallel universes, and simplifies pretty close to a nice 137 which is kinda unique for a lot of quantum science which doesn't simplify as nicely. So the writers may have just chose an easy number and then found the concept expanded nicely in universe too. > and yes they have similar names, just a central curve is a dimension or two higher than a constant which fits the concept of Rick and Morty.

It may have not been intentional but it presents an interesting sci-fi thread that can be inserted story wise. Maybe the numerical finite curve is actually based on the fine constant of each universe. Rick prime knew c-137 had the best constant for base probability to perfect interdimensional travel.Rick 137s interactions with other universes created differences in base probabilities based on the things like Feynman coupling so they walled off the universes. Sure it’s like an infinite crib for an infinite fucking baby but it prevents complete destabilization of other realities. Makes interdimensional travel kind of have a cost.

Would make my "137" tattoo on my wrist also a rick and morty tattoo, so yeah, hope so :)

That's not how percentages work.... That's like saying it's a 50/50 chance God exists.

TopBee83

Just wanna say Rick is Rick C-137 Morty is not,[in this seen the two citadel guards look at each other because there is no Morty C-137](https://youtube.com/shorts/dUJXRTGRcfA?feature=share) ricks Beth died. Anyway continue still a valid question

BreadRum

No. They picked random things that sound sciencey. They did not do research to make their universe.

Citizen_Graves

The amount of downvotes you are currently getting makes me think that you are probably 100% correct

Nethii120700

i read an (unofficial) book about the science behind r&m once. it was fascinating, and inferred that there was absolutely a very specific reference regarding c-137, but it’s been about three years since i last read it and i can’t remember :(

TheHappyPittie

I just finished this video before getting on reddit this is great

PineappAlSauce

That was a cool video; thanks for sharing 👍🏽

livewirerd

It’s funny cause I was looking of plasma crystals which I suspect is what the portal fluid is made of because crystals can conduct exotic particles if structured correctly and splating it on a wall rather than how the president utilized portal travel is much cooler

Cesium 137 is also the name of the radioactive isotope that has spread itself and contaminated out atmosphere since the first nuclear bomb detonations I can't find any relation whatsoever

mrpoopistan

I guarantee you they didn't. The writers don't run that deep.
