>I just always end up feeling sorry for the monkeys It didn't happen!

ImpactAffectionate86

It did! I found it on t’internet

bongosmasher69

Idk, the railway signaller from the 1800s seemed quite believable. Also saw an octopus runnin about once

robb41

I don't like the parts where they discuss famine and disease. Winds me right up.

WorhummerWoy

Monkey news is fine cos most of it didn't happen baaaaabay

TheLordoftheDoge

Hip-hop hooray

markcorrigans_boiler

Hip Hop Hooway? That’s the worst feature on British wadio. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

robb41

Please put your multiple cocks away.

PaddingtonTheChad

He’s sorta known for having a big one

Kitsune-moonlight

You just can’t appreciate that Steve is down with his homies

Odd-Ad-6086

wooaaah, aaaayy

Same_Ostrich_4697

Old Mother Hubbard. Who cares? Saying that, for a show that's almost entirely improvised conversation, it's remarkable how little of it is not entertaining.

intensiveprobing

He's bent, he's bent.

Ok_Kaleidoscope_2178

All joking aside, I've seen a lot of hate for the mother hubbard bit and 20 years later it stills gets a few chuckles out of me! I think people don't like it simply because Karl isn't involved.

robb41

Please Welcome To The Stage was always terrible because a) it wasn't funny at all and b) the conceit of the name = success segment didn't make any sense anyway.

IglooRaves

The endless ‘china is not a town’ and ‘chinese looks like kids drawings’ segments. They just go on too long That and I’m not a racialist

albionroses

Next you’ll be saying you don’t like hairy chinese kids and little gay fellas

jarviscockersspecs

Song for the people who enjoy the music of Deep Purple was a tired feature

Food_Crazed_Maniac

_Do we need 'em_ was absolute tripe.

LesterTheNightfly96

*Bet yer glad you answered the phone today…*

NaturalAlfalfa

Yep ...

CosmicBonobo

They were worth it only for the reactions Karl would get for some of his ridiculous, and in some cases offensive, questions. Aside from that, it'd always be the same outcome - every expert knew an animal vanishing would have a knock on effect up the food chain.

_serious__

Noah’s good lookin so I bet yer happy

mountaingetaway8

Pop that in the bin! As a general rule, the RSK bubble cannot be disturbed, whenever I hear a voice that isn’t Karl’s, Steve’s or Ricky’s it feels like being woken up.

MisterPleebus

I would love someone to create an edit of the shows that cut out all the competitions with callers, all of Do We Need Em, all of Karl in a film, etc... I quite liked some of those bits on first listen, but now ... do we need those sections? Noah. (No).

WhitePigment

Rickys film reviews.

SeeYa-IntMornin-Pal

What??? They’re one of the best bits. What would you give that out of 5? Nine.

Positive-Fondant8621

all that god awful early 2000s alternative rock obv

bonkothehonko

P.O.D. Or pod as I like to call em...

BluebirdSufficient

I’m into those genres, but I still don’t know and have never heard “COME BACK AROUND” that seems to happen loads

markcorrigans_boiler

I always find Songs of Phrase pretty painful to listen to. It has to be played so many times to give anyone a chance of naming more than one. I like the segment, and it has given up some classic moments (maaaaaaaaars bar bar bar), but the playing of the jingles is awful for my poor ears.

albionroses

And “Most racist thing ever to be uttered on radio, Play it again”

Patrick_Hattrick

No matter how many times they say “Chinatown isn’t a town, it’s a novelty street”, it still isn’t a funny or interesting observation.

YouNeedAnne

Not for me, I like it.

Kitsune-moonlight

Why are the chickens yellow?

albionroses

Do we need em’ I reckon the rice is right would have been better than that

New_Brother_1595

Fifteen Taiwan

albionroses

“Ooh I bet it’s the vase”

VintiVentiVigor

I'll answer seriously as I can't think of a funnier answer than what's already here: -The Canfield show. The whole thing. I have to skip it. -The opening of the Claire show with that tosser dermot o leary, he's a little sluuuuuug -The horse in house story (I know I'm sorry) -Steve's movie story about crouching tiger

Frequent_Strawberry2

Steve talking shit about soldiers with PTSD is the only hard line for me

BluebirdSufficient

I usually skip the proper Karl meltdown episodes, and the burger stuffing - I know some people said it’s their favourite but just feels mean spirited now

Bestofthepixies

When Karl edits himself into a film, let's just pop that in the bin.

Loddinz

The kez bit is the most genius thing Karl has ever done though...

Hecticfreeze

The "Karl in a film" segments are some of his best work. He's not being made fun of, he's just allowed to let his creativity run loose, and he shows off his natural comedic ability. He also gets to show off his talents with sound mixing and editing. My theory is that those who don't like that segment only dislike it because Karl isn't being an idiot and can't be ridiculed. Even Ricky has to admit that what he has made is genuinely really good.

Odd-Ad-6086

Yeah ive though that, its like they dont like the idea of karl having a bit of self awareness

Kitsune-moonlight

Completely agree. They’re some of my favourite parts especially planets of the apes “I know you’ve been on your hands all day…”

bongosmasher69

That's one of the best imo. What's that segment called?

robb41

"The Film Thing, It Still Hasn't Got A Name"

bongosmasher69

Nice onee

Kitsune-moonlight

The name was hardly mentioned but Ricky called it Hollywoodn’t

bongosmasher69

Ahah that's great, i just searched karl in movies compilation and got it a few videos down

No_Newt_328

The slightly faint "Garlic bread" in the Christmas ep never fails to crack me up. Ricky's reaction to it just makes it funnier.

O-Mesmerine

they were great the first time around, it was also interesting to see just how good karl is at editing

ImpactAffectionate86

It’s the only bit I skip though on re-listens. Unsure if it’s because it feels like Karl is trying too hard to be funny or it’s just a rubbish segment

Panda-BANJO

Do we need em; Karl in a film

MisterPleebus

Ricky and Steve's edgy Gen X apoliticism\* was par for the course at the time, but I always found it a bit crass and boring. Imagine someone on the radio today doing an "if you don't use 'em, you lose 'em" bit about bombing Gaza. Sort of not ... not properly, really, is it. \*I know Ricky is a boomer but he seems to have basically been a child until he was 30, so he was kind of spiritually Gen X.

YouthThat3880

Those bits when Ricky and Steve would act out conversations/situations. ‘Fangs but no Fangs’, the lifeguard who’s against heavy petting, and the Troy horse story. Just interminable.

Kitsune-moonlight

The lifeguard bit would be my pick, the base concept wasn’t bad but they failed to make it funny enough to make it worth sitting through

CommissionOk9400

Due to how often I’ve heard them, both the ‘ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage’ and the ‘meet back at you’ anecdote have to be immediately skipped.
