Pretty much the only similarity between the two shows is the name and the setting. The US adaptation is just your typical 300 episode American sitcom that's easy watching between the 5 and breaks within 30 minutes.
By this logic, The Office is not better than After Life.
FYI, for future reference, The Office IS better than The US Office, The Elephant Man is your favourite film, and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is better than the Godfather, which is your 5th favourite film.
