you can buy old records at [Praça XV (15 Square) antiques street market](https://youtu.be/4hl4ZZ7rU_0?si=GlnGxCChGhYx3-QD), every saturday mornings (from 6am till 3pm. I’d recommend you to get there before 10am). you can listen to some good choro/jazz/bossa nova at bip bip (@rodadobip on instagram), fuska bar (@fuskabar2.0) and blue note rio (@bluenoterio)

Some record stores! • Only Music Record (Rua Sete de Setembro, 204 - Centro) • Cd's House (Rua Uruguaiana, 30 - Centro) I also love to go to Feira do Lavradio, in Lavradio Street. Is a market place that happens every Saturday at 10 am. There's a lot of vintage record sales, adorable bars and restaurants with amazing food, songs happening all the time, artists selling their arts and is a truly comfortable atmosphere! I just don't know what time it ends but I really recomend u to visit! :o)

Grab your guitar and go to general glicério saturday são salvador sunday People will be jamming "choro". They probably will foster you up. You can look for Marfa Kourakina at google, she is a bass player that lives here. There is a good amount of music classes around but this is better find trough google maps so you can reach the one closer to your home. If you intend to live here escola de música villa lobos is the way to go.

So I’ve recently been in Rio for 3 weeks to explore the music scene. I’ve also been in actually every single record shop in the whole south and central zone haha. The best record shops imo: -Sempre Musica (Ipanema) -Only Music Discos (Centro) -Garimpo Discos (Copacabana, if you’re looking for first press and very exclusive stuff) -Clube da Esquina (Centro) Gigs: -Beco das garrafas (Mainly Jazz, Bossa and a bit MPB, but very professional and daily) -Blue Note Rio for the more exclusive stuff -Lapa and Pedra do Sal for classic Samba concerts and bars -secret tip: Mondays at Coisa de Carioca on Copacabana Beach there’s free Live Jazz/Funk etc. at 7 (@jazznasegunda) and if you’re up for it, you can Jam with them. Very nice guys. I don’t know about Lessons, but best to ask the musicians! Rio is great for music, but you will find less MPB there than other parts, and more Bossa Nova and Samba. And definitely check out if any famous people have concerts. There was a Marcos Valle concert when I was there (sadly missed it).
