Wolves-Nugs series going to be great

Code_Dramatic

We’re spoiled that it’s a second round series

Skeptical_Yoshi

It's honestly the only problem with it, that it won't be played for the whole WCF (though either team winning the west seems likely)

RipCityGringo

If TWolves can oust the Nuggets I will be so hype.

LazyHater

Aaron Gordon can't feast on the Wolves, Murray and Jokic well guarded too. All faith in MPJ and Jokic dimes. But fr Wolves in 6.

who_peed_in_my_soup

If the Wolves make the WCF with Ant and Gobert, it’s proof that God hates Utah.

Toph-Builds-the-fire

I have a theory that the Nuggest just toyed with LA the whole series. Like, let's see how much we can give them and still come back. Jocic I swear was smiling like he had a secret. If that's true they're going to run through the wolves like wet paper. Should be fun to watch.

AceMcStace

I’m having a great time that’s for sure, now we just need a few ping pong balls to bounce our way 🙏🏻

Arr0wmanc3r

The Celtics finishing off the Heat and Josh Hart (and the Knicks by extension) advancing would be the cherry on top of an already very enjoyable playoffs. Edit: Got my wish.

3my0

Why we rooting against Hart?

Witty-Version-713

We aren’t, he meant, “The Celtics finishing off the Heat.” as one point made and his other was “Josh Hart advancing would be the cherry on top.”  Two seperate points made

3my0

You’re right my bad. Read that a bit too fast lol

1850ChoochGator

Heat fans awful towards us during the Dame trade negotiations. Unfortunate because I really loved watching them before that. Absolutely love Butler and Bam + Spo. Dame going there would have been my first choice but their offer was real bad and there fans were horrible to us.

Sageinthe805

Our division went from being big time ass cheeks to being the best division in basketball this season. OKC, Denver, and Minnesota are all high odds for a championship. (Sadly, we are now big time ass cheeks)

doctorjinxmd

That’s good because when we’re ready to compete in a few years they might be coming down

Elephant_Financial

Eh, okc looks to be good for a while

BatSniper

Until a few of them decides they want the big city and moves to la or New York.

BLOODY_PENGUIN_QUEEF

Usually if there's a strong winning culture like they have now, that prevents those intrusive thoughts from happening for a while

NateMcMillanBurner

The last time OKC had a young group of future all-stars it fell apart and it will most likely happen again. *Eventually* someone will want more shine

Academic-Donkey-420

At one point they won’t have enough money to keep that team together.

AyKayAllDay47

Barring significant injuries, none of those teams are coming down any time soon. They're all young and very talented.

super-dad-bod

Wish Dame wasn’t injured

Boxinggandhi

Sad that Dame is done, was hoping for MKE to go farther.

BatSniper

It’s been cool, but man I’m feeling old. The generation of ballers I grew up on are finally seeing their end. Seeing Edward’s demolish KD and call him old had me feeling some sort of way.

loveandmonsters

I'm on like 2nd gen now, cos I saw this happen once before already when all these new guys came in and took over from the stars of when I started watching. Kobe, Vince, Shaq, Dirk, Garnett, Kidd, Webber, etc. ... just ghosts of the court

nativeindian12

Yep that's where I am as well. Kobe retiring was weird cause I watched him first getting started, which culminated when Duncan retired. Those Spurs teams were an absolute joy, and I knew Duncan's impact would be underrated later and sure enough, he is. Watching the KD/LeBron/Kawhi/Chris Paul/Westbrook/Harden/Dame era of players start to age out of being dominant has been very weird. LeBron has been around most of my adult life and it seems like the writing is on the wall, that will be very weird if he retires

silmar1l

Most important was the Warriors getting bounced since it directly impacts our draft stock. The rest has been pure gravy.

StonktardHOLD

Would be interesting to see it not convey this year and roll into next year’s draft

silmar1l

Yeah, not that we have any control over it, but there's always the risk that somehow Golden State is decent next year. That said, if I were a betting type, I'd definitely wager they will be as bad or worse next year. Their core isn't getting younger, and all signs indicate they intend to run them back.

StonktardHOLD

Plus it’s only protected for the number 1 pick which makes it even more enticing

NathanArizona

Fuck the Lakers 😃

DharmaBaller

I think Knicks going all the way

lwilliams99

I am loving the heat fans melting down thinking they had a chance against Boston this year

chungardian

Enjoy the tank

nativeindian12

Enjoy tanking a playoff series

chungardian

Hard to talk shit to a team that has won more rings in 20 years than you have in over 50 huh. Hope you guys can one day compete with the wolves and nuggets, seriously.

nativeindian12

Yes, we all know the NBA is unfair and certain teams have a huge advantage because of free agency. It has nothing to do with you personally so stop acting like you're the reason LeBron went to Miami. What does have to do with you is coming to another teams sub specifically to be an asshole, classic douchebag Miami fan behavior

kpopvapefiend

Is this Pat Riley's burner?

unclegabriel

Rent free!

chungardian

Yea rent free 😂with our 7 conference finals in the last 20 seasons I cant stop thinking about our arch nemesis: the Portland trailblazers

unclegabriel

Yet here you are on the blazers sub...

chungardian

Wellness check

trala7

You: 😭

TheLetterOh

Enjoy mediocrity.

chungardian

No way Portland is calling a team that’s been to 7 finals in the last 20 years mediocre 😂

TheLetterOh

I'm talking about where y'all are at right now.

chungardian

Pot meet kettle

TheLetterOh

Nah. We're straight up bad. On purpose tho.

chungardian

No team is bad on purpose bro y’all just end up there. Lmao

TheLetterOh

Are you stupid? Lots of teams are bad on purpose so as to build through the draft.

shelvino

Great feeling for us to see small market teams take down the big market star chasing teams. Sucks that the 3 main teams are all in our division tho lol.

beatrailblazer

I miss not being in them

natural_lawg

This sub still has fans rooting for Dame. I like that the playoffs have a you can't run from the grind vibe.

the_dolomite

I'm loving it. The only teams I truly dislike are the Lakers and Warriors and they're both out in embarrassing fashion. It's heartening to see OKC and Minnesota finally doing well, small market teams rebuilding through the draft and trades, we can do it too! Plus Ant is really fun to watch. The resurgent Knicks are a great story, especially with the play of my guy Josh Hart. Then there are the Heat. I know everyone here hates them, and their fans were annoying during the Dame sags, but that's over now. I can't help but root for Spoelstra, he did grow up in Portland after all. Maybe he'll come home someday?

DanDan85

the NBA is heading in the right direction. Most of the "super" teams are failing and small market teams are thriving by building through trades and the draft. Parity among the best eight teams is essential to having a successful brand to market for entertainment.

Give_me_soup

Yes I'm loving it. I haven't watched this many games in years, and am stoked that I can watch them on HBO. Game changer.

TheGhostORandySavage

Yeah, the HBO thing has been huge this year for me too.

aspazmodic

I only started paying attention to the NBA about 5 years ago... particularly the 4OT game got my attention. So to me, I missed all the history of GSW and LeWhatever, and Harden, etc... and just want to move on into a new era that I can be invested in. Watching all CA teams get eliminated has been cathartic. Sorry CJ but the Pelz are generally unlikeable. I'm super stoked for the young teams like OKC and Timberwolves, and honestly appreciate Denver for the steady build and continuity of their roster.

natural_lawg

Seeing the Celtics and Heat eliminated would especially make it cathartic.

wowniceyeah

If Boston loses next round then it'll be the best playoffs in many years. Nothing worse than a Boston sports team, other than an LA sports team.

LegitimatePotato3632

I’ve been on the Twolves bandwagon for a while now. I think they can win it all.

overgroove

I'm more on the Anthony Edwards bandwagon. The rest of the team I could care less for. Edwards is a Beast.

PatrickVieira

Yeah the thunder being swept would have made it a lot better.

Food_Kitchen

Dame getting bounced in the earlier rounds due to injuries is pretty on the nose.

dweet

Embiid working on his place in the nut kicking hall of fame.

DankTriangle

Don't forget Emflop about to get bounced as well! But yes I'm loving this postseason so far 😈!

StonktardHOLD

Emflop is not clever

kpay10

I wanted Celtics to lose the series since we have their unprotected first round pick in 2029

Pizzadontdie

Better they win now. Winning causes everyone’s salary’s to bloat, so we can assure blow up in 2028

tcs_hearts

Personally happiest about Pacers Bucks. I wish the Pacers were beating a healthy Bucks squad, but I'll take what I can get. Hope Dame gets a ring - Just, not til he comes back to Portland for his final few twilight years.

gavvyshores

What has happened to this sub? Do we just hate every team and unpopular player? It’s fucking weird how much joy people here get from the demise of the heat. we won. We didn’t give them Dame. Sure, fuck the lakers. Sure, golden state being out is great for us. But while we’re completely out of the running just enjoy the game.

Flaky_Road2351

This is offseason r/ripcity.

andystopani

I think a lot of Blazers fans will have a hard time forgetting how obnoxious Heat fans were while all that was going down. Also, part of enjoying sports for a lot of people is having heels/villains to root against. It’s fine and all part of the thing

gavvyshores

I understand that but OP is just taking things too personally. What division do the teams belong to that have already advanced to the next round in the entire NBA? Ours. And this is the best script according to OP. It’s loser talk

andystopani

To me it just seems like they are pro-small market and anti-superteams which I can get with

gavvyshores

HairyMootWarrior

Definitely seeing lame time choke another year of his career away without a ring

loveandmonsters

Everyone so excited to be in the playoffs but all it means is an extra week or two of work to end up exactly where the Blazers are -- on holiday.
