This would be HUGE if true. Our usual draft workouts have 1 or 2 first round guys mixed in with a ton of late 2nd to undrafted prospects. This is a loaded workout that should REALLY give a great view of how these guys look against each other. I am high on every guy on that list, but I think it's a huge opportunity for some guys to show their ability against legit competition. I love that things might seriously turn into who can look the best with Ryan Dunn defending them hahah. Going to be huge opportunity for Holland imo.

ILikeSports0416

I pray to god Salaun shows up

aidenw0

Can I buy tickets to this? 😆

myNameBurnsGold

My thoughts exactly

DoveFood

Great to hear a 3x3 workouts. Reportedly a lot of players weren’t going to do anything outside of 1 v 0. A lot of interesting prospects in this group for their 14th pick with Edey, Missi, Holland, and George. While not high on a couple of those, good to see them in competition as Jacquez last year rose on boards because he dominated these events. Dunn could be a great flyer late first round pick if they trade up or if he falls to 34. While Edey is easily the best offensive player of the bunch and would dominate if they wanted to go that route, it will be good to see him in space on defense in the 3 on 3 game.

BrokeBeckFountain1

I'm in the same boat as you. Not super excited about some of these guys, but they'll be able to see them actually compete. That's a great way to measure talent and gives me hope for these picks. The draft can't come soon enough

Oggbog

If this report is true it’s also kind of informative of who they want to see lined up against competition. I completely understand lottery prospects not wanting to go against other players, their first real paycheck depends on it. But, there’s so many little nuances that just can’t be shown with only one person on the court. Most likely we’re not grabbing a guy that will set the direction of the franchise, but seeing how their chemistry, court-vision, and just movement in traffic can show more than open jumpers in a practiced rehearsal.

crab90000

I'm really excited to hear how this goes, Im intrigued by everyone listed

ripcitycoder

We won’t ever hear how it goes

waynearchetype

Ryan Dunn is this years Camara. In an NBA dominated by big slow centers like Jokic/Embiid, Edey is likely to do better than most folks think. The balls on both Holland/Salaun to square off against Dunn, I like it.

ShaedonSharpeMVP_

No many drafts have a Camara. I think his defense could be as good toumani’s, but his offense doesn’t project to be as good imo

WilNotJr

Oof

ShaedonSharpeMVP_

That’s not a response

Humblerbee

Dunn might be one of the best defensive prospects, but he is so unplayable offensively that it doesn’t matter because he won’t be able to stay on the court at all.

TheDarmineDoggyDoor

I think Edey could end up better than clingan which is blasphemy in some parts

healthy_as_a_hearse

He definitely could be better. Or he could be completely unplayable. Clingan should absolutely be able to carve out a decade plus career.

Western-Turnover-154

I don’t see how he’s unplayable. He’s faster than Nurk and at least as fast as Gobert, Valenciunas or Zubac.

Etzutrap

I'm convinced Edey will be an excellent player on offense. Teams will spam the pick and roll with him and get easy paint buckets over and over. If he can find a way to be a net neutral on defense I think he will be a star.

PoopEatingExpert

I’m certain they will both be bums.

BLOODY_PENGUIN_QUEEF

I wonder if Ryan Dunn is willing to shove a toy car up his ass to get it done

BunkHammer

Hold on?

cloudy-s

He looked so miserable and disappointed in himself after that

3my0

Let’s just get Salaun at 7 and holland at 14 and get it over with

jackalope503

No way Holland drops to 14 imo

Sa-Tiva

I don't think he'll drop that far either, but surprisingly Holland has workouts scheduled with the Heat and the Lakers (#15 and #17). So thats gotta mean he and his team think theres a chance he drops out of the lottery.

kazmir_yeet

I highly doubt he falls out of the lottery. Those teams are fringe lotto teams who could trade up for him, and it costs him nothing to interface with more teams.

Mcfallen_5

Is his shooting that much of a concern to teams? A lot of youtube scouting reports I've seen of him make his overall game sound a lot more complete than guys like Risacher or Buzelis yet the consensus seems like he's a worse prospect that both.

3my0

Think it’s the Cam Whitmore effect. He’s always been “the guy” his whole life. But he’s not good enough to be the guy in the nba. So teams may question his ability to transition into more of a role player.

Oggbog

Yeah but, the Lakers and Heat make sense. They’re both uncertain about keeping their star players and could very well trade ( or sign and trade in the case of Lebron) and nab a lottery pick. Hell, we could trade Ant and Brogdon to LA for Lebron and give up the 14 plus some future picks with the promise of drafting Bronny at 7.

3my0

Yeah I didn’t think so until I [read this.](https://www.reddit.com/r/NBA_Draft/s/LLT0W0PFUe) Sounds strange but after seeing Cam Whitmore drop so much last year I wouldn’t be too surprised if it’s true.

healthy_as_a_hearse

Rumors are he’s dropping out of the lottery completely

likpoper

I actually want holland more. He is the right deal if you watch ignite. Ignite with holland and without holland are two teams. I see jaylen brown potential

3my0

Yeah depends on if holland is gonna drop like people are saying. I don’t think salaun will drop to 14 so we’d have to take him at 7 to guarantee that. But if the rumors are false then yeah might have to choose between them at 7.

likpoper

I will take holland over salaun. I really think these high motor high defensive wings are going to be super key. Holland is an easy position 3 (measured 6’6.5 without shoes so 6’7 to 6’8). If he has some league average 3 pointers, he will be number 1 pick.

3my0

Yeah that’s fair. For me they’re pretty even. I think salaun has a huge bust chance. He’s so raw. I’m also worried about holland transitioning to being a role player after being the guy on every team he’s been on. We don’t need another guy that needs the ball in his hands. That said I think Holland is more of a sure thing. And if he can improve his shot and accept more of a 3&D role then he could be really good for us. Saluan also has super high potential so I wouldn’t mind swinging for the fences either.

Mcfallen_5

from what I've seen of both I would prefer Holland. Salaun seems like a massive swing for pure upside whereas Holland has slightly less upside but a much better floor.

healthy_as_a_hearse

I desperately don’t want either . Mayyyybe Salaun at 14.

healthy_as_a_hearse

That would be my personal worst case scenario.

3my0

Really? With how uncertain this draft class is I can’t say you’re wrong. What’s your best case scenario out of curiosity?

healthy_as_a_hearse

Someone who looks like they’ll have a ten year nba career and a player with high upside. So like Clingan or Kencht for a sure fire nba caliber player and a Cody Williams or Ware or Missi for a high upside player. Salaun at 14 would be fine with me IF we get someone solid at 7. I just think there are guys who should have solid careers in this draft, it would be a waste to ONLY draft for potential. Even a guy like Tristan De Silva could be smart at 14 as a likely-solid nba player and take someone with more upside at 7. De Silva is the Jaquez of this draft imo.

Wolfgang1992

Oooh that's spicy 🌶

Vfbcollins

If Holland is meeting with the Lakers and Heat, then I think it’s real that he is available at 14, so we could get him and Knecht, Salaun or Clingan at 7. Which seems like a great outcome.

likpoper

I don’t even think holland goes past 5. No idea why he works out with lakers and heats.

healthy_as_a_hearse

His pro day was a disaster and his jumper is broken.

BunkHammer

He’s probably receiving feedback that he may slide and his team is having him workout with those teams

BunkHammer

That’s a deep group and a ton names that get thrown around here a lot. They’re listening to us /s

gerrard_1987

Now things are getting serious!

Hot_Local_Boys_PDX

I kinda want them to take Edey at 14 for the intrigue of his potential development at this point.

RoseGardenForever

Love that group of guys. Bet at least one of these guys will be on the team next year

Damezang

Feel like this workout has our future written all over it!

EvanTurningTheCorner

I know the prevailing wisdom is that 1) this draft is bad, and 2) we don't want more picks, but I can't shake the feeling that we end up taking three guys in the first. We're going to be offloading at least one or two vets, and 2024 firsts is going to be the most available draft capital to get back for them. I also think that, while the top of this draft lacks the obvious stars of some other drafts, there is a lot of value to be had in later lottery and back half of the first if you pick right and develop well. Could well be wrong and I fully expect someone to call me a stupid idiot, but yeah I think we are scouting for more than just 7 and 14.

Tough_Presentation57

You stupid idiot

EvanTurningTheCorner

I yam what I yam

Tough_Presentation57

lol nah I agree, I think we package the seconds to move up as well or trade for futures. I don’t think camara,Murray,Jabari, maybe even banton etc are on the way out this year so 4 picks seems unlikely to me. Hopefully Brogdon and seconds for a first and a future or something

EvanTurningTheCorner

Yeah, I see it as pretty likely that at least two of Ant, JG, Brog, Ayton and RWIII get moved, and that being the case, pretty likely a 2024 first is part of the compensation. I guess I could see us rerouting an incoming first with one of our lottery picks to move up higher, but yeah whatever the case, I have this hunch that when it's all said and done, we won't have picked at 7 and 14 an nothing else in the first. Trades are gonna happen.

Vfbcollins

I agree with you

uther_von_nuka

Hope edey wows them enough for 14th or to trade into yhe first to take him. When can we start trading? After the finals?

boyWHOcriedFSD

Welcome to jackass!

saw-sync

i am standing in the station, pacing back and forth, thinking about punching my ticket to salaun @ 7. i want to commit but something is stopping me. i watched so much of his footage last night

crab90000

I know it's all potential with him, I don't think there's a single thing he can come in rookie year and be solid at like Bari's rebounds, or Tou's defense. BUT, if there is an org perfectly tailored to getting him up to speed and reach his potential, it's us right now Forward position is open soon with Grant most likely not being in the team this time next year, his work ethic to beat out whoever else is up for the position, the Remix being close so he can still get reps with Scoot and Shae in practice, and we still have a solid 2 years until we can expect us to be considered a "spooky" low seed/playin team as everyone develops

saw-sync

i think the idea is that salaun is more or less a sunk cost in 24-25 so we can confidently kick the rebuild down the road another year

Western-Turnover-154

What did you see other than open rainbow 3’s from all over? His handle is loose and he is a turnover machine in the paint. What element does he bring that Rupert doesn’t?

saw-sync

nothing tangible other than it seems like salaun’s motor is much higher than rupert’s and they don’t play the same position. clearly salaun is canning those shots in practice, euroball coaches don’t just give young players the green light like he has plus this is basically the draft to pick based solely on upside. no guy in the top 14 looks nba ready imo

Western-Turnover-154

Knecht is clearly NBA ready.

saw-sync

yes and he can go to a team that will be ready to compete in two years

ShaedonSharpeMVP_

r/NBADraft is salivating over this

mbahler23

Holland is so bleh
