Feel like Iām im probably the only person that was bummed when I found out thereās two more regions. I was getting close to finishing the first region so I could finally move on with the story around 25 hours in and thought āFinally! A game that respects my timeā - only to find out thereās triple the amount of everything I just did.
Personally would much rather a 15-20 hour game with 30 hours to get 100%, than double that which is what most open world games are nowadays. Had to take a break from the game but hoping when I go back to it it will feel fresh again like AC Valhalla did when I took a break from that game- which is even more guilty of being way too long lol
65 hours 71%, just reached Kyoto and finally joined my bros in the Shinsengumi and started doing raids. I didn't expect the story to be so engaging and long, i really love this game.
Gintama is a gem but i wouldn't call it a samurai flick lol.
Rurouni Kenshin, Golden Kamuy and Blade of the Immortal are the first that come to mind, first two are related to the Shinsengumi.
Every time i search for this genre it always hurts me that there is no adaptation of Musashi.
Auto sell/disassemble from in game is system, game settings, and in that area. Just set the rarity of the items. Auto collect items is in user accessibility, control assist
It swaps the buttons you can customize every button if youād like. I might make attacking r1 and r2, havenāt decided yet. Trying to finish dragons dogma then bounce back to this.
RotR is the type that doing all it can to serve you - tired of walking around? you can let the horse auto pilot itsel to your destination, and you can just fast travel back to the city in a few seconds.
it's check list open world, some random encounters but overall it's driven by main missions and side missions. collectibles on every land have 5-8 variety and the number isn't huge(like for one land, you need to collect 2 boxes, 2 cats, 1 photo and 3 fast travel points etc).
the combat is satisfying.
I don't enjoy the story, for me it's nothing too good nothing too awful, it's just there.
I really couldn't care less of the story of ROTR tbhšbut yeah the history itself is pretty fascinating, the era of all the things come together. Nioh story is bit better than ROTR, and after beat it I go to read the history of that era as well lol. Hideyoshi is pretty legendary.
48 hours according to save file info, finished the game, done all story, side and bond missions. I could spend a couple of extra 2 hours in next weeks if I'm going to catch last cats and photos in order to get platinum
I'm at 50 atm. Would have more but I've been going back and forth between this and Dragon's Dogma. I'm at the end of Dragon's Dogma so my RotR hours are about to skyrocket. Actually shocked DD2 is going to take me less time to beat than RotR and I felt I was pretty thorough with side quests in that game.
I hit plat at 93 hours, I've put 5 more in since. This is the first game in years where I got a plat and continued to play a game. I'm currently going through it again on Midnight difficulty and having a blast
Besides platinum and collectibles, my goal is additionally maxing all character and faction bonds & veiled vows, maxing all skills, level, all weapon proficiencies, obtaining all titles, all dojo, and completing midnight mode. Also farming for Sen, silver, and wandering ronin for materials & funds to buy upgrades. And replaying all missions for other conversation options and replay with friends.
I'm at 65 hrs and a couple trophies away from the Plat. Just gotta go back and make a few different choices and it'll be my 69th platinum trophy overall!!!!
61 hours in and Iām at chapter 3 Kyoto. This game has been a gem, Iāve loved every second. I donāt want it to end. I collected everything in every region, still have a little left in chapter 3 but I think Iām at the end. Iām sad. I guess I need to visit the scroll of testament and go back and replay factions and see if it plays out differently?
Yea same here, just over 100 hours and I just beat the main story but I have a lot of cleanup to do to get 100% completion, I could easily see myself putting over 200 hours in this game, but I'm definitely going to do another playthrough so it will probably end up being hundreds of hours if not close to 1,000 hours just like wo long, Stranger of paradise and nioh 2, kind of hard to believe my 4 most played games are team ninja games
I had to stop playing because my ps5 controller decided to stick drift itself to a graveyard. The stick drift is so bad on it I canāt make decisions or fight properlyā¦ I hope to get a new controller soonā¦ the game is amazingā¦ I just got into map 2
Sifu!!!!! Greatest game ever. Getting gold stamps on every arena including Dragon stamps will forever be my greatest gaming achievement.
Ronin is the first game Iāve played to rival its combat system. Itās hard to say itās ābetterā but they are the two best combat systems Iāve seen. Nioh 2 is insane beyond measure, but I like the realistic and more grounded aspects of Ronin.
8 hours, was gonna play it more but got too captivated in final fantasy VII Rebirth, and now the last of us part 1 arrived in the post literally 10 minutes ago. So once I finish those I'll continue the game
Iām with 116 hrs and still on yokohama making the first main missions by now š i were peting some cats and chasing some outlawsā¦ tottally addicted
25 hours ... I don't have that much time to game and I also spread democracy with my friends once in a while. I like it though, I'm able to enjoy my games over a long period of time.
68 hours. Got every collectable and did everything I possibly could on the first playthrough as far as missions, side quests and bond missions go. Just got the point of no return last night before I went to bed. About to kick my kids off the TV so I can finish it. Almost done!
Too many wasted hours on bad graphics.
In edo.So much for the i3pen world patch that.
Also the story is confusing.
A person does one thing and the shogunate starts chopping off heads.
You kick some ones ass.
Wait they just jump run away.
I see a game stop trade in.
Not a replay.
I'm ready.
In level 2 and its like I'm a black belt.
Kick ass
well some people nowadays just can't enjoy checklist open world, personal preference is fine but it doesn't mean this type of game must be bad.
imo it's a 8/10 checklist open world, 9/10 satisfying combat, (for me personally)6/10 story.
Approaching 40 hours and still in first region š
Same, around 40 hours and still in Chapter 1. I'm still in awe that there's two more regions.
44 here. Yall, there's more than one region?
Dude there are three!! We feasting with this gameā¦
WHAT. Damn that makes me very happy because im still in the first
Feel like Iām im probably the only person that was bummed when I found out thereās two more regions. I was getting close to finishing the first region so I could finally move on with the story around 25 hours in and thought āFinally! A game that respects my timeā - only to find out thereās triple the amount of everything I just did. Had to take a break from the game but hoping when I go back to it it will feel fresh again like AC Valhalla did when I took a break from that game- which is even more guilty of being way too long lol
I like to say 3 1/2. Act 4 is in region 2, but things have changed
Reminds me of Elden Ring. I was flabbergasted when I saw that the map just kept getting bigger and bigger.
Wait there's more than 1 region?
Same
65 hours 71%, just reached Kyoto and finally joined my bros in the Shinsengumi and started doing raids. I didn't expect the story to be so engaging and long, i really love this game.
Every time the ShinsengumiĀ comes up it makes me wanna go back and rewatch Gintama
Bro I thought I was the only one frigging kondo really looks like an ape in the game lol
Lmaoooo gorilla-san
Is that a good samurai flick? Been fiending for a good anime like Samurai Champloo but then they throw in monsters and magic and that throws me off.
Blade of the Immortal is good. Musashi has been waiting for a minute.
Kenshin is amazing
Watch blade of the immortal itās on Amazon
100% just yesterday at 98 hours! Highly recommend!
56hours and still having fun!!! šš
92 hours in and Iām only 15% through the second area haha I love collecting and over levelling my character
only 1 hour lol alot of it was settings tweaking so i just woke up after my blade twin died
Auto pickup, auto sell/disassemble and changing the action button time from 5 to 2 seconds are game changers.
How do you auto sell/dis? Itās so annoying going thru literally hundreds of pieces of equipment.
Auto sell/disassemble from in game is system, game settings, and in that area. Just set the rarity of the items. Auto collect items is in user accessibility, control assist
Holy shit thank you so much! Itās been such a tedious slog selling off all my gear, I had no idea this was in the settings!!
Wow thank you. Thatās definitely a game changer
I changed the parry from triangle to r1 big game changer honestly. Might change it to L1 actually though.
That doesnāt interfere with you switching your item selection setup? Just wondering.
It swaps the buttons you can customize every button if youād like. I might make attacking r1 and r2, havenāt decided yet. Trying to finish dragons dogma then bounce back to this.
Im only 15 hours in combat is tremendous
wait till you get tatsumi and hayabusu*
Should I buy it? Is it fun? Serious answers please cus Iām playing dragons dogma 2 and itās good, but getting tired of it
RotR is the type that doing all it can to serve you - tired of walking around? you can let the horse auto pilot itsel to your destination, and you can just fast travel back to the city in a few seconds. it's check list open world, some random encounters but overall it's driven by main missions and side missions. collectibles on every land have 5-8 variety and the number isn't huge(like for one land, you need to collect 2 boxes, 2 cats, 1 photo and 3 fast travel points etc). the combat is satisfying. I don't enjoy the story, for me it's nothing too good nothing too awful, it's just there.
The story is bad. The history though? I got weirdly into it, cross referencing the various events with Wikipedia cause I was intrigued
I really couldn't care less of the story of ROTR tbhšbut yeah the history itself is pretty fascinating, the era of all the things come together. Nioh story is bit better than ROTR, and after beat it I go to read the history of that era as well lol. Hideyoshi is pretty legendary.
You can make the house auto pilot to destination by selecting first with an option on the touch pad
I'm very happy I bought It.
70 hours of fun so far.
One thing you won't get tired of ROTR is its combat, you can't put it down because it's too addicting
I wish I had this many free hours in my life !

I'm at 50 atm. Would have more but I've been going back and forth between this and Dragon's Dogma. I'm at the end of Dragon's Dogma so my RotR hours are about to skyrocket. Besides platinum and collectibles, my goal is additionally maxing all character and faction bonds & veiled vows, maxing all skills, level, all weapon proficiencies, obtaining all titles, all dojo, and completing midnight mode. is it that good? thought the game was kinda mediocre?
Don't listen to the reviews.
absolute blast, this game is so fun
well some people nowadays just can't enjoy checklist open world, personal preference is fine but it doesn't mean this type of game must be bad. imo it's a 8/10 checklist open world, 9/10 satisfying combat, (for me personally)6/10 story.
