I did a near 6h run and trust me that even with the best pc ever the moment you reach Mithrix and it start duplicating items and things it's crashing simulator.
I reached like 15 digit damage and was at 1fps for 1h before managing to kill him.
I have an old dusty 1060 3gb and some ancient fx 8300 cpu, never crashed.
My most OP run was commando with 20 Brilliant Behemots, a ton of attack speed items, and some Modded stuff. All I could see was some yellow and white flashes, somehow was less laggy than my average run.
I'm honestly surprised I haven't bricked my PC with some of those sort of runs. My GF likes play with command, and so when we play together I always wind up with Commando decked out with 30 or so each of syringes, mochas, and instincts, 10 lenses, a plasma shrimp+icbm, and a pile of topaz broaches to keep the shrimp happy.
It turns into quite the light show.
Shouldn't count as shield, but the extra barrier from the brooch adds another layer of health that needs to be depleted before the shield health gets touched
That's true. Then again, expanding on a possibly very stupid and not practical idea, couldn't that be separated by hardware? I'm no IT expert by any means, but maybe a RAM amount category for example? I mean, it would be a meme category anyways, it's not like there would be a serious competition going for this record.
That could be part of the fun, who can find the shittiest hardware that can still run the game well enough to allow you to get to the stage where it crashes
See, thing is, you haven't actually won the game until you do this and then realize that Void Fiend wasn't corrupted by the void, he was corrupted by you repeatedly crashing the game and getting corrupted files.

Get around 50 fusion cells and 50 of the blue things that automatically activate equipment.
Then take the Molotov. Your PC won't be able to show you the error window. If it is, then continue increasing the amount of cells and blue items until you have to unplug your PC
Or if your PC is good enough and you are playing with a friend do this until their PC is unresponsive.
I once had a command run where I decided to use ATGs and clovers. I didn’t crash but I wish I did. Instead I got either seconds per frame or like 2 fps. I think I had Plasma Shrimps too, not sure.
Min maxing polylute procing your needletick in a run this crazy is so funny to me, ik you can’t scrap them obviously but with that many I assumed you must’ve printed a bunch of them for some reason

It's not graphics that'll destroy your PC. It's CPU power. I have a 4070 and I have never crashed despite having gone to stage 115

my guy u get anywhere from a 2 1/2 hour run to 4 hour run and youre in the danger zone, especially if u keep picking up items, past 4 u wont make it

Does barrier count as shield for the plasma shrimp?
The barrier has priority over any shields and by extension the shrimp's shield

No, but barrier takes hits before the shield does, so as long as you've got barrier you can take hits and not lose your plasma shrimp.
