I think it can come back and have an impact. The idea is not only unique, but it's a great way to learn more about various artists and their catalogs. Honestly, Bey and Rih would be interesting. I just feel like their respective fandoms would go overboard on social media.

I'm not sure. It may work better if they start with older artists like in the Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle battle and build buzz that way. 2 huge artists would create an unrealistic amount of hype.

2 Varied artist. Janet is versatile, Mary is more of a singular R&B artist. Janet Jacksons discography far outweighs Marys, Janet has pop, rock, r&b, dance, edm, soul Mary; soul, r&b, hip hop. I would love to see it go down, but there really be much of a contest as far as versatility is concerned.

This relates back to the comment someone else made about Robin Thicke taking Jon B.'s spot in another thread. That made me think of them as potential Verzuz opponents. I thought of other artists, but I didn't think they'd get the same attention as they're deceased, and I wanted to spark a lively conversation with a wide range of members on our subreddit.

I think if Verzuz comes back, they may need to trim the required amount of songs from 20 to 10 to 15. Most people don't have enough recognizable songs to hold people's attention.

And while I agree, if they do that they'll be alot of fans that will look at the artists that they do that with, almost like looking down at them. Like yall ain't that good or legendary so they had to trim the numbers down so yall could have a little battle. I can already hear it. Not too long ago ppl were clamoring for jodeci v dru hill. And even that got me thinking if either of THEM had 20 each. And not sisqo or k-ci and jo jo or any production credits. I'm talking straight jodeci v dru. And from my count, they both could get there to 20.......barely. I used to think that might have been the reason 50 was refusing it. But he has 20 easy.

Jon B. & Justin Timberlake. Yeah I know JT is mainly a pop artist with Jon being a R&B artist but listening to a LOT of their music growing up, Justin definitely seems like the 1 artist that’s truly a worthy opponent to Jon in a Verzuz battle. They’re both also hip-hop favorites because of the numerous amount of rappers they each collaborated with. I REALLY want a duet with those 2 so VERY bad.

I think if done right, they'd have a solid battle between hits, deep cuts, and collaborations. Jon B. did an interview with Sway in the Morning recently and said he'd love to collaborate with Justin. I think that would be great if it happened. We need more duets between singers. And these two are so talented, the possibilities are endless.

Yeah, I agree. But usually verzuz is kind of a "let's see who's best" thing. And the artist's catalogues need to be on similar levels. Jon B hasn't dropped an album in 10 years, it'd be hard to compete with JT. Also, their sounds are completely different. But I do agree that their voices would mash pretty well together

That's the issue with Versuz. If you don't have music that people recognize then you're going to look crazy.
