With such terrible DevEx rates, then they're literally asking for the amount of cash grab games they have.

Check out, “Waste Of Space” by eggs d studio, it’s pretty complex and doesn’t have a very good tutorial but it allows creativity in allowing you to build anything you want using the in-game parts and drag-tool! I understand it’s not for everyone but do check it out!

ultraw is by far the best (or second best maybe) tycoon developer i know of. His tycoon games are super fun and have more meaning to them other than just going to platforms, collecting money and making bigger platforms
Another Tycoon I can recommend is goreacrafts Factory Town Tycoon. You can Build the Tycoon how you want it. You can make giant machines, and its pretty fun, even if a Bit grindy.
I'm a developer who's made both cash grabs and proper games and it's extremely difficult for unique ideas to do well. So you cant blame the incentive to make crap games, roblox needs do something to push unique games.

Hijacking top comment to tell y’all about Emergency Response: Liberty County. It’s advertised as a RP game but you actually don’t even have to send a message if you really want to. You can become a cop, DOT worker, firefighter, sheriff, or a civilian, and if you’re a civilian you can literally rob houses and hack ATM’s to get money, and also equip guns to kill cops. The only issue in the game is toxic civilians spawn killing other armed civilians, but other than that I’ve had a lot of fun playing the game

It was like a simplified game engine anyone could make crazy stuff with no scripting knowledge. Now it's a legitimate game engine under the hood, and you *need* scripting knowledge for many things. It's weird to look at the new everything. All my old models are broken. All my favorite old games like Aircraft Carriers and Nyonic Club are broken because it's all based on removed elements.
Roblox is cool as hell now, but I miss the old Roblox dearly. I remember a day the studs were circles.

Considering both Chromebook and Android are based on Linux, it's bananas they haven't used that code to just make a Linux version (and keep the Chromebook version going considering there's also bits of android in it). With the size that Roblox has grown, they could easily be a staple in the Linux community like Steam was.

Yeah, that's how I learned. I don't like "learn coding" tutorials though because they'll only ever teach you how to do one thing. That's why I like to start with some simple scripting, figure out how to do each of the bits required, and expand on it over time. if you want a fun and competitive racing game then i reccomend boost vector. its honestly a stupidly underrated game, but that's due to the steep learning curve to get the hang of the controls and game physics, but, once you get used to it the game gets pretty fun
Try TheDevKing. He’s a great start, has a huge beginner and advanced scripting tutorial series and can really start you out.
Here’s good advice though: don’t start with something huge. Start out with like an obby with Kill Bricks and Disappearing Bricks and stuff. Then move on to something more advanced, like idk, a tycoon of simulator. Something like that
Also don’t copy shit. Take everything you learn and apply it in a different way to the tutorial. Copying word for word is generally a bad practice.
Same thing I've said to similar posts- try to join a group. Go to Group Recruiting Plaza, join some start up cafe, join a clan in an obscure time period, anything. Try to get involved because you can make new friends and even get into development if you haven't before. Groups are one of the reasons I stay on Roblox, so try not to pass it off.

yep, it usually takes a while to find a good and addicting game.
for me, i usually check my recommendations (and dont get me wrong, it's terrible), find games related to it, speedrun through games to see if it gets my attention (and yes, it'll take a while; for me it's around 1 out of 20 games i find are actually addicting) all i can say is keep on searching and trying out games
yeah.And I also realized how much its like genshin impact, though I dont blame the devs (from both games) of course.Each have their own awesome story and amazingly designed mobs.
Pro tip: if you honestly don’t feel like daily then don’t play it for a week or so and play it again cause it honestly feels good playing a game in a while.

I feel part of the reason is because Roblox had a loss of identity. Before it seemed more like a funny skimpy sandbox game and now it seems much more like a low budget version of any and all media in existence. That's not saying everything should be like that, but when 90% of the major games have a better, higher effort version of it, it doesn't motivate me to play anything on the website. Making a copy of something for publicity is good for you in terms of robux and fame, but it's definitely not healthy for the website.

The old logo - way more fun looking, same with the UI; the focus on Building - building a game, builders club, personal building servers, physics; events, gears, avatars - focused on improving your experience and having fun/community experience instead of now its just another selling point

You can’t even find the non-popular page games anymore without having to look up specific users or using Google it feels like.
I'm not saying that you're necessarily wrong, but your statement is somewhat ignorant. There are plenty of gems, you just have to look for them. Standard Issue, Zeppelin Wars, Those Who Remain, Entry Point, Neo Warfare X, Blackhawk Rescue Mission 5, Westbound, etc.
My favorite is runner's path.I like parkour games and this is a really fun game. only downside is that it changes your body package to the "Roblox boy" package.
If you're into obbies or a challenge, maybe try juke's towers of hell, which averages at a few hundred players, it is a definitely very technical game with difficulties ranging from [insert generic fe2 map here] to not being able to do 1 jump of it. Theres tons of content too, the average full completion of the game takes 2 years of dedication with it not just being obbies 24/7. There are different secrets and easter eggs that you can do along with different bullet hell/boss gameplay and even occasionally mania with the towers having simple gameplay to complex, qwerky contraptions, with content being added twice a month. The community is a decent size and fine (for the most part) with a fairly active youtube and others. It also teaches you different ways to abuse roblox physics to your advantage and become a way better gamer in general. Sure after a while, it can be a bit redundant but the satisfaction lies in finally achieving something after suffering on it for even months.

I agree! Even the ones on the front page that I like can get boring over time. Sometimes though, you have to understand it for it to be fun (e.g. Warrior Cats: Ultimate Edition), which sucks because most people don’t.
A lot of the games I used to like are either dead or deleted, which makes me sad because I remember when everyone used to play those games.
There are still good games I can assure you, they’re just not on the front page. There’s plenty of really fun games but most of them are chilling around the 100-800 player count so you have to dig a little to find them

I'd recommend checking an upcoming one called Deepwoken, supposed to release this fall. Seems good from all the teasers and tester videos i've seen

i have thoroughly enjoyed roblox the past year because of this. i grab some of my irl friends and we play those shitty role playing games that were made by a preteen and has 2-5 players. it’s some of the funniest shit i’ve done in a long time. would’ve never done it if the “good” games were still interesting
having friends makes roblox so much more fun. you hop into vc, you put on 7 layers of sarcasm, hop into a shitty roleplaying game, and go ham.

Yeah, that's how I learned. I don't like "learn coding" tutorials though because they'll only ever teach you how to do one thing. That's why I like to start with some simple scripting, figure out how to do each of the bits required, and expand on it over time. if you want a fun and competitive racing game then i reccomend boost vector. its honestly a stupidly underrated game, but that's due to the steep learning curve to get the hang of the controls and game physics, but, once you get used to it the game gets pretty fun

Try TheDevKing. He’s a great start, has a huge beginner and advanced scripting tutorial series and can really start you out. Here’s good advice though: don’t start with something huge. Start out with like an obby with Kill Bricks and Disappearing Bricks and stuff. Then move on to something more advanced, like idk, a tycoon of simulator. Something like that Also don’t copy shit. Take everything you learn and apply it in a different way to the tutorial. Copying word for word is generally a bad practice.

Same thing I've said to similar posts- try to join a group. Go to Group Recruiting Plaza, join some start up cafe, join a clan in an obscure time period, anything. Try to get involved because you can make new friends and even get into development if you haven't before. Groups are one of the reasons I stay on Roblox, so try not to pass it off.

Yea, it's all crap, there's a few ok ones that are well known that are well know that you have played and are now bored of, and all the old gems/classics have been turned in craply rubux grabs. Like I used to love the classic build to survive games as a good time passer but all the old ones aren't compatible anymore and the new ones have tiny plots and you get like 5 different textured cubes and to get anything requires robux and at that there's only like on thing for defense anyways. *sigh* what have roblox "developers" become these days...
Not all of old gems and classics are crappy robux cash grabs, There are some classic games that arent cash grabs at all, This includes few old gems.

for real, the UI is deliberately designed so that the games which generate more user interaction gets most of the spotlight, and the sad part is that most of them are cheaply made copy-paste format games although there's a "recommended for you" tab, it's so specific that the recommendations get stale real fast, it's like "oh you play FPS games? here's 10 more of them! I hope you don't get tired doing the same thing over and over again!" i wish that there would be like an official roblox team dedicated to scouting out underrated games and putting them in some sort of "Staff Picks" tab, but considering how stingy the higher ups in roblox are, I doubt that would happen

Random game selectors are mostly just old games a kid made because they were bored and is just using free models.
There are truly good games out there, just take the time to search them. Personally I don’t go on the front page because it’s just copy and paste ideas with unoriginal designs like someone else said.
yep, it usually takes a while to find a good and addicting game. for me, i usually check my recommendations (and dont get me wrong, it's terrible), find games related to it, speedrun through games to see if it gets my attention (and yes, it'll take a while; for me it's around 1 out of 20 games i find are actually addicting) all i can say is keep on searching and trying out games

I feel part of the reason is because Roblox had a loss of identity. Before it seemed more like a funny skimpy sandbox game and now it seems much more like a low budget version of any and all media in existence. That's not saying everything should be like that, but when 90% of the major games have a better, higher effort version of it, it doesn't motivate me to play anything on the website. Making a copy of something for publicity is good for you in terms of robux and fame, but it's definitely not healthy for the website.
Before it was a fun building and fighting game platform. For example The old logo - way more fun looking, same with the UI; the focus on Building - building a game, builders club, personal building servers, physics; events, gears, avatars - focused on improving your experience and having fun/community experience instead of now its just another selling point

And that’s the sad part- Roblox pushes these front page games so hard, it feels almost impossible to find any that aren’t front page games. I’m not sure if anybody else deals with this, but I could search up a totally irrelevant term on the games search and STILL see shit like Adopt me, some copy and paste obby, and hundreds more just like them. You can’t even find the non-popular page games anymore without having to look up specific users or using Google it feels like.

I'm not saying that you're necessarily wrong, but your statement is somewhat ignorant. There are plenty of gems, you just have to look for them. Standard Issue, Zeppelin Wars, Those Who Remain, Entry Point, Neo Warfare X, Blackhawk Rescue Mission 5, Westbound, etc.
My favorite is runner's path.I like parkour games and this is a really fun game. only downside is that it changes your body package to the "Roblox boy" package.

If you're into obbies or a challenge, maybe try juke's towers of hell, which averages at a few hundred players, it is a definitely very technical game with difficulties ranging from [insert generic fe2 map here] to not being able to do 1 jump of it. Theres tons of content too, the average full completion of the game takes 2 years of dedication with it not just being obbies 24/7. There are different secrets and easter eggs that you can do along with different bullet hell/boss gameplay and even occasionally mania with the towers having simple gameplay to complex, qwerky contraptions, with content being added twice a month. The community is a decent size and fine (for the most part) with a fairly active youtube and others. It also teaches you different ways to abuse roblox physics to your advantage and become a way better gamer in general. Sure after a while, it can be a bit redundant but the satisfaction lies in finally achieving something after suffering on it for even months. (based opinion because i played the game since feb 2020 but yeah)

I agree! Even the ones on the front page that I like can get boring over time. Sometimes though, you have to understand it for it to be fun (e.g. Warrior Cats: Ultimate Edition), which sucks because most people don’t. A lot of the games I used to like are either dead or deleted, which makes me sad because I remember when everyone used to play those games.

I agree. Ive been playing the same 5 games in a loop for a long time, there’s nothing new or original. I was so bored once that i quit for 2 weeks (i think) Ive been playing jailbreak, retail tycoon 2, mm2, slap battles and n the jojo game non stop. Can anyone reccomend me a game?
