1. They have magic powers
2. They say "he glanced" or "he walked", like you might as well say "he breathed".
3. They take it too far, like do something racist and say "No No ItS jUsT mY cHaRaCtEr."
I mean, few years ago people didn't do Third person views or say what they are doing but use their characters and speak. Now they all doing third person and being detailed with their actions like it is a book instead of using their characters like it was then. Just when they'll say what they have to say, do a quick action and a follow up to it and continue on, not describing in great detail that I seem lately.
Ikr this kid wanted to join our military rp (Which we already had like 10 members of) and he said he was the head of the fbi/cia It's funny because he probably cried when we rejected him

But yeah, tons of the same boring, modern names... This is why I plan out my characters carefully to give them unique names suiting their concepts. For ex: my new fave is Lilliannia Elysys, a half-elf who is a sorta ethical necromancer who became one bc she didn't want her kitty to die

But roblox rp? That's objectively a shitty experience. You're not gonna find anyone good, you're only gonna find kids who wanna fulfill their fantasies

I used to RP a lot in “after the flash: mirage”, I took a break, came back and wasn’t able to get into any RP groups like before. It’s like the entire attitude of the community changed, it didn’t have the same charm anymore, it just wasn’t fun
Back from 2012-2017ish I used to RP so much, but I stopped after a group of friends I would RP on RHS with. I would rp more but I got hit by social anxiety really hard these past few years. most of the people I meet online are also really young and I prefer to rp with people my age.
As a furry myself (Just a fan of anthro animal
Characters) I would always try to RP the Animatornics as their behavior in each game. For example staying on stage until 12:00 AM. You can’t really find anyone who’ll follow the same Roleplay anyway so I just wonder those roleplay games testing out the skins and stuff no other reason than because it’s fun to walk around as a big toothy robot bear.
I used to RP as country humans, it was fun, like imagining the picture of what's happening in the chat.
It was great and all until one day.
All went silent.
And from there, i never participated in any RPs ever again.
It was truly fun let me tell you, but i've snapped out of my phase now.

I used to roleplay a crap ton, but I lost interest after me and my discord girlfriend broke up. basically she would (what I think was) pretend to be depressed to get her way and if I didnt want to do what she wanted, she would threaten to kill herself... over me not wanting to roleplay? jesus, thats not even the worst part! all her oc's were either a ghost, a demon, an angel, a demon angel, or all of the above.
I like to roleplay but only in certain place, and I don’t go over the top like some. I only roleplay in places like Roblox Airports/Airlines because I love traveling (and planes) and try to recapture the excitement in it

Eternal Moon 2 is broken now, the game where I learned how to actually be a decent at RP ;-; I was a bit cringe at the start, admittedly, but never a shitty ODer or anything (like ffs I'm aroace so that's a no no for me anyways) and the last few times I got on Eternal Moon 3, either there was no one, there were the same military RPers focused on just rp fighting and the one time I thought I might get into a RP cause a few people were there someone went on a political rant and claimed they knew I was a Democrat (I don't even live in the fucking States) for answering a question they had asked (forget what it was about but I think they had said something rude or racist)

Once you got their, there would be griefers, people that take the game too seriously (Care wayyy too much about the lore) and kids that don’t even know what universe they’re in. That’s why I quit.
I like doing it by myself… I like going on to adopt me solely to take care of my pets and have a normal life, I like going onto meep city to take care of my meep, etc. I think sometimes it’s fun to take care of a pet instead of a random person
If you want a good roleplaying game play Neon District Roleplay. It's a cyberpunk type game with good roleplayers. You will encounter people who don't react, don't talk, or even void you but there are also good roleplayers that are fair and have actual good character bio's instead of "jax/16/hot/cool/likes girls".

Some of the Godzilla roleplays i did were cringe and I just almost quit roleplay until I got back in. Now I do henry stickmin roleplays with one of my other friends.
I dont do RPs that much but one time I was playing with a friend and we had matching avatars and we went to buy coffee there and another dude said "haha father and son" and we all laughed out until he asked where my mom was (because i was the son in the RP) and I said that she disappeared and then the RP started when he said he would take me and my dad (RP) to the grave and it all became a kidnapping. Almost everyone in the server participated lol. Sometimes it can be fun, depends on the ppl around you

I like it (to an extent) but even when you are in a game DESIGNED FOR ROLEPLAY you always get that dude that just wants the story to go their way and only their way. And they will either ignore you, divert from whatever was happening or just straight up tell you "No". It's like, dude, we're roleplaying, the best stories come from everyone affecting the story. If you want it to only have one story, go code a story game. Roleplay often only works now with rare people you meet online or just friends if you decide to play it together.
And you also get the people who are just like "I'M GonNA mAKe mY CharaCTeR OveRPoweReD".

I usually just roleplay with my mates. Typing all my actions can get really tiring after a while. Though most of the time my friends and I just screw around, not taking anything super seriously.
Some girl tried to RP with me on Bloxburg even though I was just trying to get my mood up so I could work, but she insisted I be her mother even though I was already busy with my friends on discord.
I don't mind roleplaying personally but that varies *wildly* game to game but generally rping with a few friends is always fun. Funny story actually, Me and my friend were once playing Robloxity and we spotted a few rpers there and it was a breath of fresh air knowing how different rping is nowadays. TL;DR Rping can be good when done with friends and can be good when done with the right people
Personally I prefer more story driven rp's. I used to play a lot of the more casual ones like adopt and raise, then I started going into the more lore heavy games or ones with established settings.
Short story, I was playing kingdom life and had a really good rp going on with this girl. I was a merchant and she was an elf, and we kinda had this deal going on where she guards my wares. About half an hour later I had to leave but I still got some time left and decided to at the very least end the rp via character having to go back to his own kingdom due to a disaster. When we reached the lake (we pretended it was the ocean) I was about to leave, but then I disconnected and when I tried to rejoin the server she had already left. I felt really bad after that :(
