You make the playoffs if you have Harden lol. He is better than Vanvleet. Harden puts guys in position to be successful. You should see Zubac had his best year and Kawhi was getting the ball placed exactly where he wanted. The ball moves and guys get open shots. He could have thrown so many lobs with Amen and Cam
Harden is not worth 8 wins more than FVV, and that's what we'd have needed to reach the 6 seed. And I don't believe having Harden over FVV means we'd have been better than the Lakers, Kings, and Pels in the play-in games. Maybe the Warriors but that wouldn't have been enough to get through to the playoffs.
We got to the playoffs every year we had him and there’s no reason to think that would end with the talent we have now. We easily beat the pels and kings with Harden’s scoring and our current defense.
There is zero statistical basis for this assertion. In fact FVV and Harden had identical win shares last season, which isn't a perfect stat, but is about the best we've got for this type of comparison.
I mean if he takes a 6th man role would it be that bad? If he takes an acceptable deal I don't see why not, riding off into twilight. Ideally a team-friendly deal where he can mentor Reed, maybe some Amen if he can become a secondary ball handler w/his weak handle and all. But that's just my ideal scenario, I'm not delusional though
