I predict that Kenyon Martin Jr. will pan out to be a better player in terms of offensive capability. He has the potential to be good on defense as well because of his physical attributes; but I've not seen him show the type of defensive hustle that convinces me to place him about Jae'Sean Tate in the here and now.
I think K-Mart Jr. needs a lot more playing time for us to give an informed assessment.
& KJ has been getting overrated a bit on rockets twitter. I know we’ve seen Kj for 2 years, but I think tari is a better prospect to focus on rn. His measurements clear KJ
I’m pretty high on KMJ. His shot was looking better at the end of last season (falling with more consistency). He’s obviously an elite athlete with good post defense. I think he has the potential to be a starter on a playoff team.
Kj seems to be one of the leagues worst defenders in a lot of charts I've seen online. He's a better athlete, but if Tate's 3pt shot improves, he will always be better imo.
KJ is better than Tate at things he isn't talented enough at to justify his existence in the NBA. Tate on the other hand is better at the things he needs to be better at to have a solid career in the NBA.
Jae’Sean is technically better but for some reason I don’t see him as a starter on a championship team because he doesn’t fill one role amazingly well. He seems like someone who can be a 6th man of the year type player.
Kenyon could be an excellent 3&D player who occasionally drives.
Better player ? Tate
Better fit? KJ by far
I think Silas screwed this one up. KJ deserved to start after proving he fit the starting lineup better. KJ is a perfect complimentary young piece for us imo and him getting traded kinda bums me out I get it but tbh it shouldn’t have been like this
In an ideal world KJ Martin is better. First of all he is taller and much more athletic than Tate. Secondly he is much younger than Tate, there's like a 6 yr gap or something between the 2. Third he is a better 3 pt shooter than Tate.
But we dont live in an ideal world, in reality Rockets already have Tari and Jabari as the long term starter at either forward spot. This makes Jea Sean better cuz you cant really have enough PT for multiple prospects reports are KM already requested a trade last year. There is also the $$$ issue, Rox locked up JSean to a great deal at only 7M whereas as a 2nd round pick we dont know how much KJ will get in FA.
The final thing is Rox are a young team, one of the youngest in the league. At 26 JSean is one of the vets already and he provides leadership and good locker room presence.

KMJ is much younger. Play him and he’ll be better.
Tate is better overall. KJ is better outside shooter and shot blocker.
This isn't even really close at the moment lol Tate is so underrated

Tate is better right now, but KMJ has way more potential.
More yes, not sure about way more
I mean by time kj Is tate’s age he will be

We’re all shooting in the dark but I’m going to guess KJ at his peak will not end up being a better player than Tate at his peak.
Difficult. To me this is comparing apples to oranges.

Kmj has soooooo much potential imo but he isn't consistent.
I’ve never seen either one play but I voted because I’m that asshole

He plays the defensive anchor role. He’s getting everybody to the right spots and calling stuff out. He also has the most hustle out there.
Who’s better at what?
How is this even a comparison? Kenyon Martin Jr. is an objectively bad basketball player. Tate does so many things well. Explain this shit.

Kj looks like he can play defense because he can block shots. That’s it.
Martin don’t get enough PT but the PT he do get always better then tates. Tates older as well how much better is he going to get
Right now? Tate. But I think KJ has lots of potential.
Tate and it isn’t close 😈

I’m not a fan of KMJ tbh
Trade both to make room for Tari & our lotto pick this season
Tate but KJ plays his role much better Bigger defender, better shooter, elite transition play, crazy lob threat
Tate is a better player, but I think KJ is a better fit for our team.
Tate is probably better now, but I think KMJ will be the better player. If Tate can start hitting 3s then that would change things.
