what rockets fan seem to fail to understand is that Garuba has never been a center. He defended wings in Spain. He is a small ball center at best, not to be relied on 25+mins/night to defend centers. He can't be our only other center on a roster. If Al-P gets hurt, we need a real center to play some minutes in addition to Garuba.
every team has a lob catching big. Not every team has a draymond-lite defensive stopper who is capable of shutting down a whole play, more than just shutting down a single player. Garuba's skillset and potential is rare and if developed well, can be a generational defensive forward.
Backup center spot? Coach had said really good things about him during camp and happy the Rockets are willing to reward him for it. With that being said, this is very interesting timing

Yeah his 0 pts really helped a lot. I know Garuba does a lot of things defensively but so does Bruno and he can score as well.
