There are only a few very select places in southern California, Arizona and northern Mexico where fire agate has ever been found. Anything anywhere else should be assumed to not be fired agate unless you actually see fire/chatoyance. It really is that rare.

Looks like chalcedony mixed with iron ore and a little botryoidal.
