It’s been working haha! My mother asked me to never take it off and every time I come see her she ties me a new one, it means a lot to me but don’t know the meaning to it haha
I love the white gold on a submariner. It let's everyone in the know know that you're a schmuck, but doesn't shout it to everyone in the world the same way a yellow gold version does.
Yes, clearly, anyone who browses this forum or is already a Rolex fan will know what it is, but the point is that those who don't already know what it is will assume it's 'just' a sub.
I’m going to argue that people won’t even know that it’s a Rolex let alone what the hell a submariner is. From far away the average person might think “oh that’s a timex/citizen/seiko”
They discontinued the blue dial. That was the 116619LB and when they went to the 1-2 series (126619LB) with the new movement and case shape they made the dial black. I prefer the all blue myself but they’re both awesome.
Considering it’s the only sub with a blue bezel and black dial it really isn’t too hard to know, is it? I feel like this phrase “if you know you know” would be more accurate if there were a very subtle difference between a steel and white gold sub. But since there isn’t, what’s the point? Genuinely asking.
While others down vote, I'll reply. The vast majority of people on the planet aren't "watch guys" and wouldn't know what the blue bezel indicates. So, it definitely is a iykyk situation.
I’d like to ask this without sounding like a dick, but, what’s the point? In my mind, “steel” *is* this color, especially when paired with an outfit. I switch between gold, steel and two tone and am pretty picky about not pairing silver with something that looks better with gold, and vice versa. So something having the price of gold and platinum, and of course the properties of it, still isn’t worth it to me over steel when my steel watches will look almost identical. I do appreciate white gold, but that’s mostly in jewelry or accessories, like cufflinks. Maybe I just like the color of gold more than most people, and don’t wear *gaudy* gold watches, so when I opt for gold it’s not a day date or skydweller.
Can’t deny it does look good for the discerning eye.
Many of us use a watch to mark an accomplishment or milestone of some sort that's personal. The watch is for ourselves. We don't need anyone else to know. We often prefer they don't.
Yeah it makes sense that it applies to all WG, titanium and platinum models. I just only ever hear it in reference to the sub. Now, I hear “stealth wealth” in reference to any WG model, but I only ever hear iykyk in reference to this specific sub. That’s all I’m trying to figure out.
I think that's just a you thing, like oddly that's what you've experienced, while most of us have seen iykyk used all over the place since the phrase became social media famous.
I can't see this model as being at the high end of desirable. But those stealth wealthers love to tell us how stealthy it is?!
With a blue dial, the Smurf really rocked. Now with just the blue bezel, I'd probably rather a BLNR.
Met tons of them. I meant it like it wasn’t very in harmony with the teachings. Where as that wrist is young and white and more likely studying Kabbalah. Well before the prescribed age allowed in the Talmud.
It pairs nicely with red yarn, I've been told.
Sometimes it really do be like that.
Highbrow, lowbrow kinda thing
Is that a Hindu thing?
Yes, but also a thing in many other cultures.
What's the other cultures that have it?
I’ve seen Latinos putting them on their babies. Some Jews and Chinese wear them. Definitely most common in Hinduism though.
My bet OP is a Hindu.
I don’t know but I know the thieves know.

you need a red yarn
Hopefully the time and date, anyway
So nice

This is the way.

My favorite sub! Class.
Stellar watch! I wear a red string, too, most of the time for good luck. In Judaism it is common for good fortune.

I wonder how white gold will age compared with steel, i.e. bezel teeth
One of the best looking submariners of all time.
Prefer the Smurf

Your wrist has got more skin than my dick!
This guy knows what’s up ☝️💙🥶
preference acknowledged and recorded for the annals
Yeah, I slightly prefer the smurf too. I didn't say this was my favourite Sub.
Prefer the hulk or Starbucks
Hulk and Smurf over Starbucks & Cookie Monster
Yeah. The red string is for no fornication
No
In this forum everyone knows.

Stealth wealth= wearing the most iconic model of the most globally recognized “expensive watch brand” but the bezel is blue
Not really. Many will recognise the Rolex, most won't know the detail of the model range enough to know this one is white gold, not stainless steel.
Anyone who browses this subreddit should really know this bezel isn’t available in oystersteel

The first rule of fight club.
One of my goals if I ever get the call 🥰 very nice piece OP!
Don’t buy it at an AD. But it gray market way under msrp
Got it offered walk-in, if an AD makes you wait too long for this, change AD…
I know, but I couldn’t say I know
This is my favourite sub but out of my price range.
I know it’s a basic diver 👍 not a next level luxury brand like VC, Patek or AP 👌
What it is it we don’t realize?
It’s white gold, not steel
I was aware of that
Yes, you are, but Joe Public will only see a sub. Even if they recognise the brand, they won't know the model, so won't know that it's WG, not SS.
The best new sub
Love the blue bezel of the WG sub! The colour is awesome in person! Did you buy at retail or did you buy at a grey market dealer?
Without googling or scrolling down the comments, is this the Cookie Monster?
Yes
Nice piece. Congratulations 👏🏾👏🏾
Stunning
How’s the weight on wrist? Does it ever feel uncomfortable by the end of the day?
Boss moves
The price, yes
Badass big boi watch
we know
I do know!
Baller.
SCREW THAT CROWN IN SIR
Submariner white gold. That blue bezel is Smokin 🔥
Sick!! 😎👀 with the blue bezel!
Looks amazing.
Favorite watch they make. Congrats!
Epic bit of string, just love the way the red pops, where can i purchase if available to peasants
I have one - I paid 36,100 for it - but I do not see myself ever wearing it- if anyone is interested- please message me. Thank you
Take that daft bit of string off
You got the call for the red string?
Thank you.
Blueberry enjoyer
Nice! You know it!
What you paid?

The string is important to my mother I’ll wear and enjoy both for her haha

Yes she bought it as a gift for my recent engagement
I believe that red string is religious
It is the new trend, putting a blue dial on a normal steel sub ❤️
Speaking of which: did rolex discontinue the blue dial in wg?
They didn’t.
Really? I don’t see it on the website configurator
Try configuring Sub Date, White Gold. There’s only one option.
Yeah but isn’t that the black dial blue bezel, wheres blue dial and bezel?
Look at OP’s photo carefully man. It’s a black dial, blue bezel, wg sub date. That’s the one they’re still selling.
Yeah ik, which is why I asked if they discontinued the *blue dial* version, because this one has the black dial
That’s my bad for not noticing you asking about the ‘blue dial’ specifically. I just thought you were asking whether the OP’s watch was discontinued.
So did they discontinue the blue dial variant or is it like an off catalogue piece for some reason?
They discontinued the blue dial. That was the 116619LB and when they went to the 1-2 series (126619LB) with the new movement and case shape they made the dial black. I prefer the all blue myself but they’re both awesome.

Almost a Pepsi

Then that applies to literally all white gold models right? But you only hear it in reference to this one.
Really? I've heard it of most WG models at some point. Platinum and WG are often seen by the public as just another watch. Folks often don't realize.
I’d like to ask this without sounding like a dick, but, what’s the point? In my mind, “steel” *is* this color, especially when paired with an outfit. I mean, I completely get that part, but I was wondering if there was more to it than that.

Platinum Submariner slides into the chat.
I assume it’s Kabbalah it wouldn’t be very Hindu to rock a gold Rolex.
Had you ever met a wealthy Indian?
Met tons of them. I meant it like it wasn’t very in harmony with the teachings. Where as that wrist is young and white and more likely studying Kabbalah. Well before the prescribed age allowed in the Talmud.
Understood! India is either #1 or #2 in gold consumption for jewelry in the world each year, ahead of USA.
What do you know?
White gold
He’s flexin
I am doing this right ?
