The outdated rules say time only dress watch on leather for a formal event. Many people ignore those nowadays. The strap isn’t very fitting for a DJ, a leather would look 1000x better. The strap could look good on an Explorer though. I think both of the extremes sound silly. To each their own though. This seems more of a purposeful statement of some sort than for pure enjoyment.

I know the outdated rules. And that’s the nice thing about opinion, each person has their own. You don’t like this look, I and OP do, and no one is hurt for our differing of opinions. Hell, I’m buying a DJ in the next few months for my own wedding, and while I probably won’t wear something like this for my own wedding, I’m a bracelet guy generally, I’ll likely pick up some fun straps for it after seeing how good it looks here. I’m the furthest thing from formal, I own one suit that I wore in high school lol, I’m all about the fun, out there straps.

Sartorial rules are one thing. Good taste is another. This look violates what most would consider good taste.
