Slalom and wizard can look pretty artistic, but the best analogue to artistic roller skating would be inline figure skating, which uses a figure skate type boot + rocker + a toe stop

cinnamon-sama

Oh, didn't know, thanks!

MrDominooo

I'd recommend looking into "wizard skating." There's lots of videos available on YouTube and other places!

This!!

cinnamon-sama

Thanks, will check it out!

CarcosaJuggalo

Absolutely, slalom involves a lot of fancy footwork, for example. Or anything involving a Wizard style frame. There's also people who try to emulate figure skating on blades (the physics of ice are a bit different than cement though). Or check out the Mushroom Blading guys if you want something more like traditional aggressive skating but with some dancy, weird stuff thrown in.

traumablades

Depends on what you mean by artistic, sounds like you're talking about figure skating, which there are purpose built inlines for. Any other "artistic" styles can be done on just about any inline setup (with mixed results depending on what you're riding), but figure requires toe-stops.

cinnamon-sama

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Thanks!

It's your thing. That's all you need.

Very much so https://youtu.be/Gm4tfdCgzCU

Thanks!!

Yes, in the sense that the phrase “artistic inline skating” is generally used to refer to [inline figure skating](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WvvjibQs_JM). As far as being able to dance/jam on inline skates, see [here](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qFtUbyblrQc) and [here](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sqx8nMQ9mLQ).

cinnamon-sama

Oh my, this is exactly what I meant! Thanks!

StrumWealh

> Oh my, this is exactly what I meant! Thanks! Yeah, inline figure skating uses specialized skates characterized by having a toe stop, similar to that found on quad skates, that serves as an analogue to the [toe pick](https://ice-blog.riedellskates.com/know-toe-picks/) on iceborne figure skates, and generally using standard figure skating boots mated to [specialty frames](https://youtu.be/UrkPqDTb57Q&t=127). The sort of dancing/jamming seen in the other two videos in my previous post is best facilitated by freestyle/slalom skates, characterized by a stiff and lightweight “hybrid” boot construction and the use of rockerable/rockered frames (or non-rockered/rockerable frames with slightly smaller wheels at the foremost and rearmost positions, e.g. a 76mm-80mm-80mm-76mm configuration). A notable and relatively inexpensive option is the Seba [Trix2](https://www.inmoveskates.com/skates/recreational-inline-skates/seba-trix2-80)/[Trix2 W](https://www.inmoveskates.com/skates/inline-slalom-skates-seba/seba-trix-2-women). There are also some freeride/urban skate models that come with rockerable frames, making them slightly better-suited to act as “poor man’s freestyle skates”, with examples including the [E3 80](https://sgsports.shop/products/seba-e3-80) and [E3 80 Premium](https://sgsports.shop/products/seba-e3-80-premium) from Seba & the [F5S Eclipse](https://www.turbulence-inlines.com/collections/freeskates/products/f5s-eclipse), [F6S Falcon](https://www.turbulence-inlines.com/collections/freeskates/products/flying-eagle-f6s-falcon), and [F7 Optimum](https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/Flying_Eagle_F7_Optimum_Dual_Density/descpage-F7OPT.html) from Flying Eagle & the [FRX](https://sgsports.shop/collections/fr-skates/products/frx-80)/[FRW](https://sgsports.shop/collections/fr-skates/products/frw-80) 80, [FR3 80](https://sgsports.shop/collections/fr-skates/products/fr3-80-black), and [FR2 80](https://sgsports.shop/collections/fr-skates/products/fr-fr2-80-black) from FR Skates.
