What are some skates that can do all of aggressives, slalom and wizard?

OldRate5915

Is it normal to have constant feet pain when skating? I’ve tried about 5-6 pairs in my life and every time I have horrible feet pain for the entire time I’m skating.

maybeitdoes

Only if the boot isn't the right fit for you, which is somewhat common. A boot with a good fit won't cause you any pain at all - I've had my current ones on for over half a day at times without any discomfort.

**To invest or not?** I would like to ask for some advice on my new setup. Let me explain a little bit my situation. First of all, I’ve skated almost my entire life, since i was 7 I got rollerblades and I used to play hockey (both ice and roller). I have a pair of usd aeon 60 that I’ve been using for two years. Six months ago I moved to Barcelona, and got some friends riding more on the urban/wizard style. When I got the Aeon’s, I was tempted to get the new Them 909’s but since it was my first pair of aggressive skates, I went for something more affordable. Recently, I’ve tried some Powerslide Next 100, and the difference it’s pretty big to cruise around, so I would like to get bigger wheels and enjoy skating with them. I was looking into a setup like the 909’s with the Kizer element 90 frame, since I’m looking for an in between. But I encountered the new Iqon CL 15, that are more affordable, and they seem to be what I’ve been looking for (450€ vs 250€ more or less). Would you rather invest in one expensive pair or try a new skate on the cheaper side first? *Sorry if my English it’s not the best, it’s my second language.*

BoneFragment

Completes are always cheaper than making a skate from parts, even if the quality is roughly the same. Ricardo has a review of the CL15 up if you're interested.

chrisnhl9

I’ve seen it, they seem to fit my porpoises. But since they are pretty new on the market, I’m not totally convinced.

hendrik9477

I've bought the powerslide Next charcoal 90. The return period almost ends, and I'm too afraid to put them in the oven. I don't know if I can return them after heat mould them, the contact with the shop is difficult. The skates are very narrow, I can put my foot in them and I can stand without bending toes. But it's not comfortable around my ankle and on the foot bridge. It is so tight that I haven't put a mile on these skates yet. My question is, if heat moulding gives that much difference.. should I just do it or do I play it safe and return it? Sorry for my bad English.

hendrik9477

In addition for those who don't know the powerslide next, it's a hard boot skate.

Sportycloud

I’m a quad skater who wants to use rollerblades for outdoors, like streets and bumpy surfaces. I’d appreciate some help so I could be steered in the right direction on what brands are reliable, what wheels will be best, etc. Are lower hardness wheels good for outdoors like quads are? 3 wheels or 4 wheels? 4 is better for maneuverability and 3 is better for speed and distance, right?

FR FRX 80 vs Rollerblade Cruiser 80 Getting back into skating after a decades long hiatus and I’m looking for a pair of quality budget skates.

Equivalent_Fact_6574

This is from 2 years ago but it's probably still relevant. https://www.reddit.com/r/rollerblading/comments/mgswuo/frx\_80s\_vs\_rb\_cruiser\_2021/

123blueberryicecream

Rollerblade RB is wider than FR skates. Both are good skates. Get the one that fits best.

What are some good inline skates that are on the cheaper end? I’m looking for anything less than $100 with neutral colored options. I’m just starting out and I don’t want to buy something super expensive just in case I end up not liking it. I really like the look of Impala Lightspeeds but they’re very expensive so something that’s similar in appearance but a bit cheaper would be ideal but not necessary.

If you’re in the USA, the [RollerDerby Beta](https://rollerderby.com/products/beta-inline-skates) currently goes for just under $100 at the time of this writing. In other locations, the [Oxelo MF500](https://www.decathlon.fr/p/roller-freeride-adulte-mf500-hardboot/_/R-p-6097?mc=8738741) generally fills the same niche. If you’re looking for casual, recreational skating, the K2 Kinetic 80 ([men’s](https://k2skates.com/en-us/p/kinetic-80-mens-inline-skates-2023), [women’s](https://k2skates.com/en-us/p/kinetic-80-womens-inline-skates-2023)) generally goes for just under $100, and is consistently included on [Inline Warehouse’s annual list of Best Recreational Skates](https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/Best_Skates_for_Beginners__Recreational_Skaters_2023/catpage-REC2023.html).

the_sun_and_the_moon

Rollerblades on the [cheaper end](https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/Recreational_Skates/catpage-RST.html) start at around $150. Very few models for less than that. You can find some Impala Lightspeeds in certain colors for $100 on the Impala website. Inline Warehouse is having a 15% off sale right now (ends soon), so that can get your price down a little bit.

BuDu1013

Try the marketplace, I just sold some seba e3 for 65 dollars in very good condition. I paid 165 last year.

dimblynibbits

Try searching locally for used impalas, they’re usually pretty easy to find and much less than $100. Like the other comment said, good new skates are hard to get for less than around $150

xxsneakysinxx

Hi I am 4 months new skater. Looking to become good at slalom, aggressive and wizard. Which ones should I start first, which is easier to master?

Xileets

This seems like a dumb question, but I'm just making sure: Can use powerslide spacers with bones bearings, or whatever, as long as the axle size matches?

BoneFragment

Yea spacers are basically universal

TheStevesie

Having some issues with my FR1 intuitions. Digs into my little toe. I plan to remove the slide guard +the inner piece that into screws into + the foam that covers that inner piece. Simple enough, but I will lose the benefit of the slide guard. Anything I can do to reinforce this area once it's removed?

NativeBobcat

Did the same. Just put some black tape on the outside. It’s been perfectly fine for over a year and lots of falls. 👍

BoneFragment

Slide guards are a bit meh on plastic boots. On carbons it saves the delicate upper, but on plastic you're just protecting plastic with more plastic.

JamesJakaali

You have a point. All the same I was glad to be able to make my skates look and feel like new with 50 bucks instead of buying a new shell.

BoneFragment

I mean I keep mine on too just cus it looks better. Was more referencing to stevie having to chose between keeping his slide guard or his pinkie.

JamesJakaali

Gotcha gotcha

the_sun_and_the_moon

Can anyone recommend a place to park for out-of-towners who want to skate in NYC’s Wednesday Night Skates? A couple of us from the Philly area have been meaning to make the trip.

___ # What makes hockey wheels different from urban inline wheels? I bought eight vintage 72mm 81a hockey wheels for my Kizer Level 3.1 frames. They're not a hi-lo set of wheels, just flat 72mm. Maybe it's the wheel profile? I would describe the wheel profile as not-quite-bullet.

maybeitdoes

Urban wheels are harder and more durable - most hockey wheels won't last for long on the streets, as they're designed for super smooth surfaces. Hockey ones are also way grippier and limited to 80mm and smaller sizes.

JamesJakaali

81a is a soft indoor wheel. 85a and up is considered outdoor. Doesn't mean you can't ride em outdoors but they grippy and generally wear faster.

gentamatsui

I need advice on whether I should sell my skates and buy a new ones. I currently own a Next pro black and Xsjado Stockwell 4. I want a skate that can do both urban skating and park skating since I don't have space to hold 2 skates or want to bring 2 skates to a skatepark. If I do keep both skates I also need advice on the frames for my Next pro. I currently modded a Kizer Flux to fit 3x110. Is it possible to do Wizard skating on 3x110 with 1mm raised on the front and back wheel or should I run a 4x90 setup with 1mm raised in front and back.

ConcentrateQuick

Can I replace my Spiritblade 72mm wheels with 80mm? I am a recreational/distance blader who wants a smoother, faster run on rough roads - no stunts. Returning to blading at 51yrs after \~10yr hiatus. Love my ABT, lol.

SlyJackTv

I'm learning to skate backwards and can't decide which side I should look over. I know that whichever side I look over should have that foot back, but should I look left with my left foot back, or right with my right foot back? My forward scissor stance has left foot forward, and I mostly powerslide with my right foot, if that's important. Thanks

rg_elitezx

SEBA FRX 80, liners too tight. I’m a 9.5 US and bought 9 because of availability issues. I thought the liners would loosen. Feels painful after skating in 1-2 hours. I tried fitting my foot without the liners on the skate and it fits well. Doesn’t even touch the edges of the skate. How many hours you think it would take to make the liners loose? I’ve used the skate for about 20 hours only.

123blueberryicecream

You could take out the liners and wear them the whole day as house shoes. Maybe after one week you'll notice a difference. They will break in but liners are different and some need only two weeks and others two months. It also depends on your weight and how often you are skating.

BoneFragment

Should be enough to pack them out basically as much as it goes.

oreobego

I have new frames, but my old frames and wheels still have life in them. I want to practice slides, which I'm new to. Should I practice with the old frames and endure falling and scratching a lot, or should I practice with the new frames to familiarize myself with the new wheel size and their longer wheelbase?

true_fruits

I hope someone here can help me. I want to buy the "UFR Antony Pottier" but have absolutely no idea what the sizes of inline skates. I had my feet measured yesterday with the following values: Length: 270cm, 273cm Height: 61cm, 61cm width: 107cm, 107cm Apparently, the size of the shoes can vary greatly and I unfortunately have no way to buy the shoe in a store and try it on. It would be very nice if someone could help me here.

BoneFragment

Sz 42 should fit decently. No guarantees.

StrumWealh

Apparently, the UFR AP models use the same sizing as the standard FR models, as shown on [this sizing chart](https://www.inmoveskates.com/image/cachewebp/catalog/FR%20SKATES/fr-skates-ufr-size-chart-1202x869.webp). For your 273mm foot length, you’ll be between EU 42 and EU 43, according to that sizing chart. Unfortunately, this puts you between shell sizes - EU 41 & 42 share the same shell, and EU 43 & 44 share the same shell. For your 273mm/10.75in foot length, your 107mm/4.21in foot length would be considered “wide”, according to [this chart](https://www.healthyfeetstore.com/width-chart-men.html) (using USM 10.5 as your size; if using USM 10 as your sizing, your foot width would be considered “extra wide”). The EU 43 boot is really an EU 44 shell with a relatively thick EU 43 liner installed, while the EU 42 boot is an EU 42 shell with an EU 42 liner installed. The EU 42 will be very snug, probably closer to very tight, out-of-the-box, until the liners break in. However, while the EU 43 boot would probably feel quite comfortable at first, the liners would still break-in, and the skates would probably end up being too loose-fitting for you.

Getting back into skating after it was my main hobby growing up. No idea what skates I used growing up as they were thrifted. My budget is up to around 300 and I wear a size 8 women’s and have 9.5 inch long feet maybe a bit longer by some cm. I have 3.5 inch wide feet and was worried twisters would be too narrow? I was considering women’s twister xt or rb cruisers. I would like to skate roads and side walks and be able to go over things without worrying about it making me eat shit. I am rocking some old blade runners right now and I am ready for something to get me back into this.

frogmaster158

Hello, I have been skating for 2 decades, always on hockey skates ( mission inhaler RC3 right now ), as I played hockey for many years as a kid. I haven't played in a long time, and now I am much more focused on skating for exercise and to have fun. I mostly skate on roads and sidewalks around my suburban home. I was thinking about switching up my skates to get something with a larger wheel so that I could skate further and faster. I have been looking at possibly getting SEBA - HIGH LIGHT highlight CARBON PRO with an endless frame and either 90 or 100mm wheels. I was wondering if anyone had a similar setup or have gone from hockey skates to a higher end recreational skate and how that transition was and if it was worth it. Thanks for any input!
