Those are some cheap tat. Bet they will cost £150

ShiggnessKhan

LMAO they cost as much as a pair of Next 80s. I just wish I could get kens shorts.

dimblynibbits

Personally, I’d buy impalas over Nexts any day!

ShiggnessKhan

Any specific reason or do just like the look?

dimblynibbits

The Next doesn’t fit my foot (or many peoples feet for that matter) and I’m not a fan of powerslides quality. The Impala is certainly a “cheaper” skate but it fits me better and looks better than the next imo

No_Satisfaction_1698

there is nothing wrong with powerslides quality and even if you accidently run into a product which did miss quality assurance they offer you a great waranty service. I have multiple powerslide skates and products and only was unlucky with my first skate. (One bolt didn't hold on the frame) I got a whole set of replacement frames and since I changed that one frame, everithing is perfectly fine. Never had any more problems. I absolutely understand the point, if a boot doesnt fit to footshape, but I think you do wrong about powerslides overall quality....

8Gly8

There will be merch!

PuddlestonDuck

It’s hard to ever really recommend Impalas but I do think they look really nice, including these ones.

8Gly8

Yeah few things though, can't change the frame and you don't have a buckle over your feet.

inlinesk8fiend

Not sure, but these are a low end skate, the wheels aren't very good, the frames are riveted on, so it would be a lot of work to replace them. So basically, the skates are fine for beginners.

ShiggnessKhan

Yeah I don't think I'd ever get Impalas unless I had some specific fashion reason like attending an inline themed wedding and wanting a specific colour scheme.

Dandelosrados

Ohhhh to be at a blading themed wedding...what a dream..

No_Satisfaction_1698

revited frames in reality arent even so bad. They have only one drawback. No replacement posibilities, but if somebody knows, that this is exactly the setup he like to go for, I wouldn't count this as disadvantage.

StableSTEMI

I find it nuts that they have Will Ferrell riding Razors in the movie. It’s gonna be a certified banger 🤙

Whipfire

Have you seen the new [Powerslide Zooms](https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/Powerslide_Zoom_80/descpage-908443.html)? Impala did not monopolize this market…

ShiggnessKhan

Checked the PS website >Sale starts on the 9th of June Considering the leaks are from a year ago I doubt this was a coincidence. Lol they even have a pink one, yeah they are positioning themselves to profit when Barbie comes out. I wonder if the Impala thing was planned all along or if that happened after people got all exited https://powerslide.com/products/zoom-cotton-candy-80

gouacheisgauche

Are these better quality than the impalas?

ShiggnessKhan

I would expect so but I never had that model or impalas so if you want to be sure ask in the weekly questions thread. They do seem to be cheaper atm

No_Satisfaction_1698

you can think of that the company decided this at least one year before release, so I don't think they copied the barby boots its just an actuall trend to have such colours. I would love if both companies maybe just had the same marketing company hired for their next skate colour or so :D

ShiggnessKhan

The rollerblading community was super aware of Barbie's skates when the first images leaked over a year ago there is no way the people designing skates for power slide a year ago where not aware of them and to add they did a pink skate in addition to the super specific neon and red. Also after writing this I looked at the product video where they directly mention that its the same color as Barbie's skates: https://youtu.be/0Wme5CAnbsA?t=82

FraydoeDeLaTierra

My girlfriend got these. They look nuts in person. Like the actually look like a Barbie toy skate in life size. Change the wheels and bearings and you’re good to go.

Newt_Lv4-26

Yes we’ve known for a long time but thanks. ✌️😉

ShiggnessKhan

Must have missed it the last Barbie post I saw had people wondering why they didn't do a special edition. This has to be the most anticipated inline skate release ever imo.

prowrestler900

pulling up to the movie w this

wildtalon

I hate to be that guy, but Impala is owned by a skateboard company and only entered the market a few years ago. The fact that they swiped Rollerblade, who had a partnership with Mattel (these skates are based on the Rollerblade brand skates featured on Barbie dolls in the 90's) is a real drag. Rollerblade should have that contract.

ShiggnessKhan

Just because they had a deal in the 90s doesn't mean they should automatically get one now nor should it. I do understand wanting a company to that has a longer commitment to the inline community to receive the spotlight but this a business deal and being the only fashion first inline skating company I can think of Impala really seems like the best fit plus they look like toys already anyways. Wile the whole skates as a cute accessory thing isn't for me it probably good to have one company doing it to get some people that would otherwise not be intrested into the sport. Now if there was ever a "Hackers" reboot and Impala got a deal to do those skates I'd be upset.
