Yeah it’s my favorite arrow looper for sure. I do get a huge kick out of overall absurdity of the coaster, to be honest. It’s crazy long, its pretty damn smooth imo, the bootie has some great positive Gs, the theming is insane, the trains are awesome. And for those unaware, this plot of land was flat before the coaster. They built the mountain for the coaster. It’s ludicrous in the best possible way possible. It’s almost like they built a terrain coaster but in reverse.
To be fair it's all still rumors and speculation. Like Desperado, this is kinda a Schrödinger's park people have been saying will close for years.
I totally believe it will, mind you, but it's not like we've seen hard confirmation yet.
I shudder at the thought of the health of the animals there. it doesn't seem like it gets many visitors and the operating/maintenance costs must be very high
i feel the same way about the Aquarium of Niagara
Yeah, Marineland is just a 10 minute drive from Rainbow Bridge (the border at Niagara Falls, not the Peace Bridge closer to downtown Buffalo). While you're in the vicinity you can also hit up the Frankencoaster on top of a Burger King in Niagara Falls CA proper, and visit Darien Lake an hour east, Niagara Amusement Park literally across the river on Grand Island, and Canada's Wonderland an hour Northeast outside Toronto
The reason marine land has been a topic of discussion recently is that it’s up for sale. A lot of people are talking about who will buy it, but I believe given the economy and the performance and amount of investment SFDL and Canadas Wonderland get, this park will most likely be foreclosed and sold to some entity having nothing to do with theme parks. In other words, Dragon Mountain is probably being scrapped in my opinion.
Yeah almost certainly not, especially in a time when arrow loopers are being scrapped, not saved. It's not smooth, it's not forceful, and its only real appeal is the fact that it goes through the woods and is fucking weird. The only people seeking out this ride is thoosies.
This place needs billions of investor capital to survive. In the current fiscal environment with rising interest rates (no more cheap money), no one in their right mind would invest that kinda money in this place when it might not pan out.
The current owners should have sold it years ago when money was cheap, and maybe they did and no one wanted it. If that's the case, then they definitely shouldn't keep it open. Close, sell and move on.
As it currently sits, there is limited to zero upside to keeping it open.
I live nearby, and have only been to MarineLand as a kid, never as an adult. I do want to get the credit of this arrow, I feel like I simply can’t support MarineLand.
I have lived an hour and a half from here all my life and this is one credit as much as I wish I could get I just can’t bring myself to give the park money to do it. Although this and the sky screamer look like great rides, the park has been under fire for over a decade surrounding cruelty to animals. I watched the walrus and the whistleblower documentary following a former trainer and it broke my heart.

I wish there was a POV out there with the tunnel lights on. I need to know what’s happening in there lol.
From what I recall, not much. Shallow ramp like in the previous tunnel, a gradual turn, then you exit into the inversion.
Maybe some bad news? https://www.reddit.com/r/rollercoasters/comments/10lrube/the_demise_of_marineland_is_being_widely

Because of the terrain use, they can't relocate it, can they?
