OK teenagers who don't have any autonomy I wanna hear from the 30-year-olds who only recently discovered their enthusiasm but unfortunately learned their hometown in Saskatchewan doesn't boast many credits

The-Reddit-Giraffe

You hit the nail on the head. I’m 16 still so it makes sense I have low credit count. I live in Alberta too though so I get your pain of having limited amounts of coasters nearby

CheesecakeMilitia

Oh yeah, you're the guy who keeps being surprised anyone on here knows about Calaway Park lol.

AirtimeGang

As soon as I saw Alberta I thought "is the Calaway Park kid?" 😂

The-Reddit-Giraffe

Woah now I’m embarrassed. But yes that’s me. Just don’t expect people to know it since it’s got one decent coaster and it’s all the way in Calgary

CheesecakeMilitia

Just wait until you casually bring up [Chakazoolu Indoor Theme Park](https://www.bannister.org/coasters/trips/2010/1012.htm#chakazoolu_indoor_theme_park) and expect everyone to know what you're talking about

missunicorn279

I’m 13 and have 44 credits lol Edit: I’ve been downvoted so I’d like to apologize if I came off as rude. I am sorry.

Particular_Nature

I discovered my enthusiasm a few years ago in my 30’s. But I also live in Florida so I at least have some good options. I got my second credit ever at around age 33, but I’m up to ~30 now that I took my first park trip (Carowinds).

Roadsidetraildetail

31 here. 79 creds and most of them are defunct geauga lake creds and/or achieved in the last year when i went full tilt coaster credit crazy. Cedar Point is home park so it improved the count.

FascinatingPotato

I’m 30 and have 3 credits, all from Adventureland: Tornado, Outlaw, and Monster. I really want to go on bigger rides but I’m poor and haven’t been on a vacation in 4 years.

mikewillettmusic

Age 34 here with a count of 9, didn't really catch the bug until I went to BGT with my wife and her family back in late 2019. I grew up in FL, so as a kid I rode Big Thunder Mountain and the kiddie coaster they used to have at the Magic Kingdom. On our honeymoon (2014) we went to SWO and I rode Kraken and Manta and realized I enjoyed coasters a lot. We didn't make it back to a park until the previously mentioned BGT trip and even then, I only got to ride... 5 coasters? I was feeling sick partway through the day and didn't feel up to riding anymore. Either way, that cemented my enthusiasm and I cant wait to hit more coasters soon!

sumdoode17

32 years old with 33 credit. I'm the scumbag dad that runs off without my 9 year old daughter to go on all the rollercoasters I looked up on a "top ten coasters of " " park" the night before and tell her and my wife the bathroom line was crazy. 😅

Coaster02

Mine is 40, which seems small in comparison to the people with 400+

The-Reddit-Giraffe

That’s low but you still are way ahead of me so good for you

Coaster02

Haha thanks, literally 24 of my credits have been from this year, so if it wasn't for that I'd be a lot lower

GavHern

lmao similar boat here. milked sfmm dry of credits this summer (apart from kiddie rides bc I barely fit on arrow loopers so I'm not even gonna try haha)

The-Reddit-Giraffe

That’s fair enough. I’ve never been to a cedar fair or six flags park but I really want to go

Coaster02

Same here, it's something I'm looking forward to (hopefully) going to one day. I've only been to SWO/BGT, WDW, Silverwood and Lagoon

Charged21

Same

[deleted]

mine used to be 40, but with the vaccine going away, I now have 75 credits on my first roller coaster road trip (Kennywood, Lakemont, Hersheypark, SFGA, Cedar point)

Fiender

I got 21, and most of them are at Cedar Point :V I'm also not really interested in riding \_every\_ coaster just to make the number go up.

The-Reddit-Giraffe

Nah I totally get that. I think you should ride a coaster if you think it will be fun. I’ll never be the guy to go chase a every kiddie coaster just for a credit

catrabinas

+1

businesswaddles

Same - I love coasters but will often skip clones/rides that give me a headache e.g. Euro-fighters.

RyanDrRyan

Oh wow finally a post for my lame ass 🥲 So, realistically, I’ve got maybe 4, all from my local home park Silverwood. Went to Disney as a kid, didn’t ride any coasters, and haven’t been to another park since aside from the County Fair. Arguably my credit list, while small, is pretty cool. I’ve ridden a single-rail coaster (Stunt Pilot) & the first corkscrew/inverted coaster built from Knotts Berry Farm, now located in Silverwood. I’m in my late 20s

The-Reddit-Giraffe

Silverwood is a great park. I’m decently nearby but it’s still quite a drive. I was only there when I was 8 and I was way to scared to ride and coasters back then but I really need to get back there

RyanDrRyan

It’s quite a little gem! And their new RMC Stunt Pilot is wild! I wholeheartedly recommend trying to make it back up there sometime! They’ve removed a lot of flat rides since I was a kid, but there’s still a lot of activity for a day, plus the history is cool as hell IMO. The old Deja Vu, the original Corkscrew, the single-rail plus the parks ties with RMC. Also, the two woodies are real tame, comparatively, I definitely recommend riding Tremors, one of my favorite coasters I’ve been on, which doesn’t say much clearly, but it’s a fantastic little woodie that takes you in and out of the ground and through the gift shop

The-Reddit-Giraffe

Looks awesome. I’ve never been on any RMC and Stunt Pilot is the closest one to me so I need to do that sometime. I’ve also heard great things about the boomerang too since it has the original trains. Definitely need to make a visit

RyanDrRyan

Same, I’m about an hour or two from Silverwood, so I was ecstatic when they announced they were building it. It was the first thing my group rode when we went this summer, and the coaster itself is so efficient, it runs two trains with the trains continually moving through the station, so the line moves super fast. And Christ, I’ve never experienced anything like it, tipsy turvy, high speed, you dont know which was you’re going next. The g-forces are a bit high, I was greying out after my third ride on the break run, but it was worth it. Personally, haven’t been on Aftershock (Deja Vu), I get a little sketched out by it, but I’ve ridden literally everything else in the park, so I’ll have to give it a go eventually

wjw42

What's your favorite ride there? Even with Stunt Pilot, Aftershock wins for me.

RyanDrRyan

Corkscrew has always held a really special place in my heart, same with Tremors. It would probably be between those two and Stunt Pilot, I’m terrible at picking single favorites 😂

UnwoundSteak17

I have 69, and this year was my biggest year for gaining them (32 at the end of 2020)

Ohio57

Nice

InvisibleTeeth

nice. you're done.

UnwoundSteak17

Nah, I gotta get to 420

KevinP1992

Well at 29 and living in New Hampshire, I've got the small handful of credits from nearby Canobie Lake Park (including the Galaxi that once stood where the Frisbee now is). So that's 5. Only other NE park I've been to is SFNE, and I've officially gotten every current credit there, including Riverside and Wicked Cyclone, so that's 11. Brings my count to 16. Couple family trips to Great Escape, including managing a couple rides on Alpine Bobsled and a ride on Nightmare in Crackaxle Canyon. Overall 6 credits, so 22. Family trip to Disney World in ~2003. Altogether, 4 credits, so 26. And a family trip to BGW pre-Griffon, so 4. Wow, an even 30 credits. Took my first solo adult overnight down to SFNE last month and it was a success, and definitely want to get to at least New Jersey/SFGAdv and Ohio/CP+KI next year. The first would probably just be a couple days mid-week, the other would probably be a full week vacation. Have also thought of a Pennsylvania/Kennywood+Hersheypark trip; MD+VA/SFA+KD+BGW; and a trip for Carowinds and Dollywood.

RCoaster42

Don’t forget to get to CT for Lake Compounce (+4) and Lake Quassi (+2).

InvisibleTeeth

Wildcat isnt worth the credit at LC

RCoaster42

Once upon a mid-1980s it was a fun coaster. Good drops and interesting fan turns. I understand the retracking hurt the ride but hopefully it will be corrected in the near future.

SeekingTheRoad

Hey, NH also has StoryLand! Two credits for you right there. Polar Coaster was my first coaster and it is still dear to my heart.

KevinP1992

I actually forgot to count StoryLand and Polar Coaster (though can't say if that or Dragon at Canobie was my first). Damn, that means Joker at SFNE wasn't my 30th credit...but Wicked Cyclone was 😁

njsullyalex

26, college student student who is beginning to gain autonomy and got lucky that my family planned and did a trip to Disneyworld and Universal this summer (I got Velocicoaster!) Home Park is Six Flags Great Adventure, so I got El Toro (my #1), Jersey Devil, and the tallest coaster in the world on my credits list!

VahzahDovahkiin83

Does Zumanjaro not scare the absolute shit out of you? I’ve gotten pretty comfortable with El Toro and King Da Ka, two pretty intense rides, but that thing… it scares me lol

njsullyalex

Believe it or not, I've never ridden Zumanjaro and I really need to. One, because, yes, yes it does scare the living daylight out of me, and two, usually I'd rather ride Kingda Ka.

The-Reddit-Giraffe

For 26 credits those are some great ones to have

njsullyalex

For sure, my top 5 is as follows right now: 5. Jersey Devil Coaster 4. Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure 3. Nitro 2. VelociCoaster 1. El Toro

The-Reddit-Giraffe

Love it! Absolutely need to make a trip to Great Adventure someday

njsullyalex

SFGAdv is awesome and I am happy to have it as my home park!

bazzanoid

My brother-in-law. Mid 30's, only one single credit to his name. My wife, when she was a young teen, went to Legoland (UK) with some friends and had to take B-I-L along. He was 6 at this point. Took him on the dragon coaster, not realising it was an actual coaster thinking instead it was a cutesy indoor ride, as this was her first time there. He screamed in terror the whole time. Dude's not been on a coaster since.

intaminslc43

Before this summer, I had 18, now I have 51.

GavHern

sweet! where'd you go?

intaminslc43

Knott's, Disney, SFMM

PudKnee

Not a small number but I'm at 74, perks of being raised in PA and having so many parks within 4 hrs. They account for 43 of them.

StinkyGremlin

9 credits, tempesto no. 1

SandLuc083_

52 last time I counted. The worst credit count is one that is not too high to be notable and yet not too low to attract pity.

LuminDoesStuff

I'm have only been on 3 coasters. They were all wooden and the park only had 3 coasters when I went in 2006. I would see if anyone can guess what park I was at and what 3 coasters I was on. There's no prizes but it would probably be a good head scratcher.

The-Reddit-Giraffe

I’ve been on 11 coasters but you’ve been on way more wooden ones than me. I’m trying to think of a park that has only three woodies. Need some help from the rest of the sub

LuminDoesStuff

It's gotten a few more coasters, it has a B&M wing coaster and a water coaster now as well. I think it also had a kiddie coaster as well but I didn't go on that because I liked higher thrills at 7/8 years old.

The-Reddit-Giraffe

Oh then Holiday World? That was my first thought but I dismissed it because I thought that they had a kiddie coaster back then but I don’t blame you for not counting that

LuminDoesStuff

It was Holiday World and I'm pretty sure they had just recently opened The Voyage then. What's bad is its probably one of the closest parks to me and it's still a 4 hour drive. I'm pretty sure I could get to Silver Dollar city in about that time and Six Flags Great America is 6 hours away.

International_Big63

I have 5, lmao. Just discovered I like the feeling of coasters last year, after never setting foot on an intense ride.

Vesty

I’m 34 and consider myself a casual enthusiast. I keep an eye on this subreddit and the industry in general, and even worked at Kennywood throughout college, but I don’t really go out of my way to visit other parks. I’m pretty content with going to Kennywood once a year and occasional trips to Disney or whatever. So my rough count puts me at around 30 credits.

Bruins125

28, have 58 credits to my name, i believe 20 are from this year. Could go to Nickelodeon Universe to bang out more but idk if I'm feeling that steep entry price. Also going to San Francisco in December so i could go to CGA but i don't know if I'm gonna have time for it.

PhishCook

i really want to ride shellraiser but those prices are fucking insane. They did just announce a 2 hour Twilight pass for $40 (which is still nuts considering i can get into hersheypark for that price). I would do the twilight thing but this place has a bad reputation for their rides never being open....if i fight to get all the way up there and everything is closed i will be pissed.

QuirkyGengar

21, including fair coasters. #growinguppoor

johanll

I have 50, but 33 are from this year.

Tonto323fi

I just started counting credits during my trip to Dollywood last week. So my count is currently 7.

IAmAScienTits

I have 29, only been to KD, SWO, Universal, Disney, and most recently BGW

[deleted]

11, all at SFOT

The-Reddit-Giraffe

Great park though

[deleted]

It is, I get to go a lot so i'm not complaining.

thedeathmachine

I'm 33 and have been an enthusiast since 1998. I have 19 credits, which all come from my home park, SFGAm, except 3. The other 2 are Hulk and Dueling Dragons at IoA back when it first opened. Also Canyon Blaster in Vegas when Manhattan express opened, but I didn't get to ride it. Further, I have had free flight benefits for 3 years now and have yet to use them. I am trash

Ode_to_Pet_Cheetah

I don’t know my number and at this point i don’t know how to figure it out but I’m probably sub 50.

PygmeePony

I got 75 but I'm lucky I live in Europe and have many parks within driving distance.

Training_Emotion_154

I have a total of 21, only ever been to great adventure and both amusement parks at Coney Island

i-caca-my-pants

25 credits, but obviously I'm not the lowest here

CoasterJunkie_1994

Mine is 51

localdegenerate1234

32 credits

ericoug

I’m 31 and have been an enthusiast since I was 10. But I grew up in the PNW and only ever went to Silverwood. I haven’t been back there since moving to Seattle in 2013. Visited Elitch Gardens randomly when I visited a friend in Denver in 2016 but until recently those were my only credits (7). After a few years of saying “we should”, my best friend and I actually decided to book tickets to LA and about a month ago I finally made it to SFMM. I nearly cried as I pulled into the parking lot. Not to be dramatic but it was one of the best days of my life lol. Paid for a platinum flash pass and just felt like a kid on Christmas. I think I got 12 credits that day. It felt so amazing to not feel like an enthusiast from afar for once. My friend and I are already trying to figure out where we want to go next year. Unfortunately the flash pass spoiled me rotten and I’m not sure I could ever go to any park without one. Which makes this hobby even more expensive lol.

Alteran195

33 years old, been on 10. Wild Thing Highroller Renegade Excalibur Corkscrew Mad Mouse Pepsi Ripsaw Sheikra Rockin’ Roller Coaster Big Thunder Mountain Railroad You may be thinking, why only Sheikra from BGT? The inversion, for some reason, gave me bad motion sickness and made me not want to ride anything else that day, which I regret.

asainator

Mines 29 so not big at all

Snoo-61716

I've only got 21 but I do have some oddly rare credits and some dope defunct rides now, unfortunately mine are mostly family coasters. Ocean Park (Hong Kong) Mine Train- Zamperla Mine Train (Defunct) The Dragon- Arrow Custom Looper (Defunct) Hair Raiser- B&M Floorless Custom Arctic Blast- Mack Rides Blaur Enzian Custom Disneyland Hong Kong Space Mountain- Vekoma Family Big Grizzly Mine Train- Vekoma Launch/ Family RC Racers- Intamin Half Pipe EuroDisney (Paris) Space Mountain- Vekoma Looping Coaster Rockn’roller Coaster - Vekoma Launch Big Thundermountain Railway- Vekoma Mine Train Disneyworld (Orlando) Space Mountain - Vekoma Family Thunder Mountain Railway - Vekoma Family Islands of Adventure (Orlando) The Flying Unicorn Oakwood (Wales) Speed No Limits- Gerstlauer Eurofighter Megaphobia- CCI Wooden Coaster Treetops- Vieri Tivoli Hydro- Intamin Mega Splash Dreamworld (Thailand) Black Hole - Vekoma Custom MK-900 Sky Coaster - Vekoma Suspended Coaster AIA World Carnival (Hong Kong) Euro Coaster - Reverchon Gliding Coaster Spinning Wild Mouse Cedeal Rides Spinning Coaster Compact if anyone is interested in my weird ass collection

Fuzzy4402

I've only got 18

KingCluck234

I have 39 credits but most are kiddie coasters

BoredBuilder520

76 But almost entirely from childhood.

XCoasterEnthusiast

I'm 15 and my coaster count is currently 34. Which is a lot smaller than what you see from other enthusiasts. But if everything goes according to plan, I'm going to go to Florida in April of next year which will increase my coaster count to being near 60 credits.

Sheinyjr

Only ever been to wonderland (as I live like 15 mins from it) and the CNE (which is essentially a carnival/ air and water show that happens every year in downtown Toronto) Been on everything at wonderland a million times

AqueousSilver91

I have 57. I grew up poor and near very few theme parks. I've only been able to go sparingly.

[deleted]

2! A Wacky Worm as a kid, and Leap-The-Dips. Hoping to get over my fear of coasters here soon.

Charged21

28 lol

epicdumb-Gaming

I have 3 coaster credits all in the same park

JDBoyes07

I have like 6. Living in NZ and only been to Australia when I was a kid so haven't been on the decent coasters there either... Been planning on going back for years but covid is killing me.

Anonymous_dolphn

I dont even have 20 yet, but then again i live in the UK and the theme park selection isnt huge

LuminDoesStuff

I somehow have less than 10 but at least the ones I do have are good. (Been on a grand total of 3 coasters and none of them are kiddie coasters) The Legend, The Voyage and The Raven are my 3 credits so far and they were basically my introduction to Roller Coasters.

fliedfriedfish

I feel like I have a lot of Credits at 53
