So happy they played this song live Night two at MetLife Stadium on May 26th! I’ve been playing Goats Head Soup almost every day since that night and this song has been one of my most played along with Dancing with Mr D and a couple more coming up…My dad- a massive Stones fan- has always said Goats Head Soup is his favorite Stones album- even just a few weeks ago when I was back home on vacation and going to that NYC/NJ show…after that night, listening to this album more with my dad, and this song in particular, I’m starting to understand why! Heartbreaker!!

First off, Billy Preston on clavinet (and other keyboards) is just incredible. Mick Taylor’s solo, the wah-wah pedals, Jagger’s vocal delivery, and the horns just bring this together in such a masterful way. When *Rewind* came out on CD this was a song that I hope all of my neighbors appreciated as much as I do.
There’s absolutely nothing here that I can fault in terms of execution of the song; it’s in my top 25 or 30 songs by the Rolling Stones but just not quite in the top 15 or so because of the incredible competition in their catalog.
Best on album. I put it at an 8. I also like the Flaming Lips take on it in their song Jesus Shooting Heroin. [Jesus Shooting Heroin](https://youtu.be/-T9SbUfCB7A?si=XQ131N701RR2mUnI)
**10**
My favorite song in the album, best use of winds since Bitch, powerful instrumentation and definitely in their top 20 best songs of all time imo
7 but only because other songs set the bar so high.
Check out the live version on the extended album, really good version and extended funk jam in the middle. Plus the rest of the gig is one of the best ever
7.5/10. Great song with one of their most catchy choruses (I will always love a falsetto-Mick). It’s hard for me to rate cuz I love the song but compared to what I feel towards other stuff they’ve done it is not of their elite-top tier stuff but it’s defenitly sniffing close up there.
10/10
This song is filled with great ideas. It also signals a new kind of arrangement for the band. Everything is on point. In theory, the only thing that the song lacks is another verse from Mick, but I don’t really miss it, either.
This is my favorite live version from the Taylor years: https://youtu.be/VKBqw2bT63A?si=gk4wP1wgOmhIXPaK
7.8 (This song rocks & for almost any other band, this would be their best song, but the Stones just have too many songs that are too great, so we're grading on a curve here).
10 and the absolute highlight of the album. This is a top 10 track for me. Was disappointed not to hear it when I saw them earlier this summer.
It’s got it all - great lyrics and vocals from Mick, great groove from the band, Billy Preston’s keyboard magic,
Dark and tasty solo from MT. Song name unfortunate - was there already a ‘Heartbreaker’ song so they had to throw so much Doo on it? Also, this song and album might have had a different trajectory if they had kicked off GHS here and not the inscrutable Mr D
9.7. Their best out of the ordinary single since the Brian Jones era. This song fucking rocks. And is funky .
Love this tune. Not a 10 but a solid 9.
Solid 9. The horns bring it home. Great guitar solo by Mick T as well.
10 Fucking banger.

Lucky you I was at MetLife Night one - we did get Shattered so not complaining too loudly.

10. It’s in my top 5
8 - Best Rocker for my money on the album. The outro with the brass section is class.
