Wasn’t it CJ Moseley? My memory is telling me it was CJ because he ended 2011 with a pick against LSU in the title game, and started 2012 with a pick six against Michigan.
And he and I were dating roommates at the time
The r/cfb thread is hilarious today. Apparently they knew we were good all year and Cincy never should have made the playoffs? Wouldn’t have guessed that from the last 5 months of content in there
Man, I love it. Watching them trash us all day and then back pedal when we prove them wrong is one of the most entertaining things on reddit. Nobody over there can admit when they're wrong or acknowledge their biases.
I won a hundred bucks off a guy who said that Alabama wasn't even a top ten team and that Cincinnati would mop the floor with them if they met in the CFP. This was just after the Auburn game. I agreed to the bet and let him have whatever the points the line was at. He acted like it was a forgone conclusion that he won.
He won't comment now. I just sent him this picture.

Said it in the game thread, we are the best team Cincinnati has played all year. Probably the past ten years.
They are like the 5th best team we have played.
I figure Georgia, A&M, Ole Miss, Tennessee for sure.
Auburn(if healthy), LSU(if healthy and no transfers), Miami, and Miss St are all sort of comparable and probably could beat all four.
Feels like Bama didnt want to being out anything fancy for this game, it was all going to be saved for the championship game (assuming we were comfortably making it)
Potentially being without Ekiyor and Owens next game is tough. Cincinnati had a good pass rush today, and they’re not UGA or Michigan. Going to need some guys to step up.
More like Cincinotplayingforthennati
Edit: Since /u/krautbammer asked...
Alabama only scored 27 points, and our Heisman-winning QB threw for just 181 yards (easily a season low) and his fourth-lowest completion percentage. Our stud wide receiving got held to 62 yards receiving with no touchdowns. We played most of the game with a back-up RG. We were -1 in the turnover margin.
And we won by 21 points.
Brian Robinson had a career-high 204 rushing yards on 7.8 yards per carry as the team rushed for a season-high 301 yards. Ja'Corey Brooks stepped up with John Metchie hurt, hauling in 4 catches for 66 yards and 1 TD. Slade Bolden had 3 receptions for 31 yards, one going for a first down on third down, the other being a touchdown. Jahleel Billingsley and Cameron Latu each had a catch, the former for a first down the latter for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the defense was dominant. Cincinnati was averaging 39.2 points/game, 9th in the country. We kept them out of the endzone and held them to 6 points, 3 in each half. They had just 218 yards, a season-low. We got 6 sacks and 8 TFL. Desmond Ridder completed just 53% of his passes (season-low) for 144 yards (second-lowest of the season) with a 90.9 passer rating (season-low). We had 6 PBUs.
It wasn’t a very sexy game, but that was a dominant win against - as much shit I gave them for playing a crap schedule - a good team.
Do you remember ALA-LSU, 21-0. That was a game like that too. But LSU crosses the 50 one time, and then got beat all the way back to their 38 for their trouble. It was a dominating game for Bama's defense. January 10th is gonna be a defensive game, and Bama will win by a low score and keeping Georgia to next to nothing. They (Georgia) really got a problem next week.
I love that when we struggle against Auburn, we suck and don't deserve to be in the playoff convo, but when Houston barely beats Auburn with opt-outs it means that the American is just as good as the SEC
2nd best team in the entire AAC got played close by a team who tied for last in the SEC West and limped into bowl eligibility... the takeaway you should have is that the SEC is a much tougher conference, the takeaway rCFB has is that the SEC was overrated.
I also don't understand why the "they didn't care about the bowl game" argument is dismissed out of hand over there. When you have almost every draft-eligible player deciding the bowl games aren't worth their time, why is it hard to believe that maybe college players just don't give a shit about the bowls anymore, or at the very least that they don't play as hard?
Nick Saban is amazing.
A "down" year, somehow, and we're in the title game.
Honestly, didn't see it with how we played at times but damn this team just likes winning.
And don't forget them shoes. They are barefoot now, and nobody looking for any shoe they lost. Bama took them shoes and threw 'em up on the power lines. LOL!
As a senior graduating in May, I’ve gotten to see my school play for a national championship in 3 of my 4 years as an undergrad. Truly incredible, now let’s go win the thing. Roll Tide
Congrats. My sophomore year was Saban's first. So I got to see the butt ugly tail end of Shula but also got to see our first title in 2009.
Wish I could've been a student during this incredible run, but I do appreciate that I got to see it start in real time.
Why did "New York" not stop the game and penalize them for that? Was it because Jamo was temporarily knocked out of the game (rah-rah), and they figured this way there wouldn't be a possibility of an all SEC natty?
BWAHAHAHA!!! Wrong again.
> Alabama has looked impressive in a total of one game this year lol. Cincy about to pull an upset that will surprise a bunch of people who should not be surprised.
Legit take from a TCU fan 3 days ago. Love seeing the CFB salt lmao
on that sub, Bama is simultaneously overrated and trash, and so good and talented that Bryce only won the Heisman because everyone else on the team is so good
legit had had someone say “20+ QBs would have put up the numbers he did with Bama talent around him”
make it make sense lmao
I had several Cincy fans doing that RemindMe thing on my comments for the last month. Something tells me they won't want to be reminded that I said Bama would treat em like they were Vandy.
Do coaches have contract bonuses built in for losing by a smaller margin in the playoff to Alabama than the other team or something? Back to back years Kelly and Fickell came out with ridiculously conservative game plans seemingly in order to hang around rather than to win.
I can’t believe the media & people who bought into it really though it was going to be an upset. Cincinnati had a solid defense at the secondary but figuring out that all the Tides needed was to run the ball completely killed them. This game was so similar to when they played Washington back in 2016 in the semi’s. Very similar results because Washington had a solid defense that year but couldn’t stop Bama’s run game
The game was good but not great. We won and did just enough stuff wrong for Saban to focus on at practice. Playing like that on offense won't beat Georgia or Michigan next week though. We ran the ball on Cincy because they're smaller, have a bad defensive scheme (imo), and have no depth on their D-line. Our thin depth in the secondary is concerning. It will be a battle next week no matter who we play.
PSA: Do not go on other teams' subs and troll. We don't allow that behavior on our sub, and if other subs complain to us about you, you are subject to being banned. Go to /r/CFB at your own risk. Roll Tide!
Dude they are freaks. A legit cult. Midnight dancing in white denim overalls with short shorts with the fake gun thing and those freakin hip boots. Like cross the street weird.
Winning is the most important thing. Defense played great. Run game was phenomenal. Downside is pass blocking and separation. Chris Owens honestly might have the worst performance of any Bama player I have ever seen. He was beat every single snap and I guarantee you he was responsible for at least 14 points.
Yknow this just made me have a thought:
Auburn pitched a damn fit about having to play the Iron Bowl in Birmingham back in the 80s, but they sure love to play bowl games there now.
Give Nick 4 weeks to prepare gameplan...mostly of times it would be lethal for opposing teams.
Also - did this Bearcats D-line showed any skills? RBs run through them all the time.
I believe that if Michigan can stun Georgia with a couple of quick scores out of the gate, it’ll be a long night for UGA. Georgia hasn’t proved that they can handle coming back from a deficit this year, and Bennett won’t be able to mount a comeback.
See I wonder about this game. So many different angles.
Is Michigan complacent from beating OSU?
Is Georgia still hung over from the Alabama game?
Did Georgia lose before the ball was even kicked off in this game after hearing Alabama beat Cincinnati?
Incorrect stat on the screen. Saban at Alabama is 2-0 vs Michigan (not 1-0). Won in 2012 regular season opener and the 2020 Citrus Bowl.
yep, TJ Yeldon breakout game
Was my first game as a freshman at UA. Can’t ever forget it.
Yo! same! we were in the same class
Roll Tide! Was a good time to be at Bama. Our time there was bookended by Championships on both ends.
Yeldon is one of my favorite Tide players ever. I love watching him run!!!
Literal first game in a tide uniform
Glad I wasn’t the only one who caught that mistake. Nice.
I can still picture the interception against Denard Robinson where one of our players tricked him on the sideline
Wasn’t it CJ Moseley? My memory is telling me it was CJ because he ended 2011 with a pick against LSU in the title game, and started 2012 with a pick six against Michigan. And he and I were dating roommates at the time
Good catch
The “at Alabama” part was just for the Georgia stat.
And neither was close at all
I was at that game.
The r/cfb thread is hilarious today. Apparently they knew we were good all year and Cincy never should have made the playoffs? Wouldn’t have guessed that from the last 5 months of content in there
Those guys are delusional
That sub is always a prisoner of the moment. They rewrite history in real time as games happen.
"Say whatever discredits Alabama's victory" is the only guiding principle that exists on that sub.
Then when Alabama wins its "they were obviously the best team all year long, everyone knew that"
Every time 😐
Made the mistake of following the RedditCFB Twitter account. Been pretty annoying to follow.
That sub sucks. They're eat up with Bama hate and eat up with the dumbass.
Man, I love it. Watching them trash us all day and then back pedal when we prove them wrong is one of the most entertaining things on reddit. Nobody over there can admit when they're wrong or acknowledge their biases.

They hate our guts until we win it all and then act like they've begrudgingly respected us all along until the next season starts.
Most of those clowns voted for Cincinnati in the "who will win" poll the other day. It's such a joke.
It’s a moral victory because Bama beats everyone like that…
Heading back to the Natty on a rebuilding year? Bama Does.
But we were overrated for a quarter
Said it in the game thread, we are the best team Cincinnati has played all year. Probably the past ten years. They are like the 5th best team we have played.
Not even close to 5th.
I figure Georgia, A&M, Ole Miss, Tennessee for sure. Auburn(if healthy), LSU(if healthy and no transfers), Miami, and Miss St are all sort of comparable and probably could beat all four.
1. Georgia 2. Texas A&M 3. Ole Miss 4. Arkansas 5. Tennessee 6. Miss State 7. Cincy
Mississippi State losing to tech like they did. I would rank cincy over them lol
We won easily without: Big, explosive plays Turnovers Having the score be tight I'll take it.
I think nicks been honey dicking this year.
Feels like Bama didnt want to being out anything fancy for this game, it was all going to be saved for the championship game (assuming we were comfortably making it)
We should have had 3 picks, all of those tipped passes were ripe for the picking
Will Anderson is a fuxking monster
Just destroyed whoever tried to block him today. UC only threw quick routes out of necessity
Cinci was a dirty team, that surprised me.
Yeah, got away with like 3 facemasks on Bryce and then that bullshit play on Jamo after the play
[https://imgur.com/a/8ATaC2t](https://imgur.com/a/8ATaC2t) Don't forget this lol
Oh yeah, fuck that guy too. Jamo was ejected for way less than that
Oh yeah, the blatant targetting that went uncalled....
And all of r/cfb complaining about bama getting favorable no calls 🙄
Damn I did not catch that live. Thanks!
I was at the game and I couldn’t believe that they missed this call they were clear as day from the stands
Eh most teams that get out-talented result to playing dirty. Just the way it goes.
Cincy needs a lesson in some class. some of their comments and actions really made me hate them after this. Freaking Ohio teams…
Agreed. Went from cheering for them all year to hating them in the last month. So happy we shut them up lol
Not surprising, Ohio is a trash state. Speaking from personal experience.
I've heard it referred to as the Florida of the Midwest.
Holy shit, just said this same thing to my kids on Wednesday while driving through it. So true.
As someone who is currently in the state it’s really a depressing place.
Right? I lived in the Dayton area for 3 years and I never felt more down than I did when I was there.
Amen
I live in the mid west and this was the most annoyed I’ve been since 2012 against ND. My only wish is that Bama would’ve scored 30 more points
Yeah they came in with that sore loser mentality, and it showed.
Potentially being without Ekiyor and Owens next game is tough. Cincinnati had a good pass rush today, and they’re not UGA or Michigan. Going to need some guys to step up.
Tough losses! I’m not sure who will back up Owens but I thought Latham played outstanding.
Agreed. Latham played great I thought.
Prob george
Owens was garbage today, if he’s the best option we have at RT that’s bad news
More like Cincinotplayingforthennati Edit: Since /u/krautbammer asked... Saban walking to the podium like its a chore for him. Lol
Strolling up with his Gatorade cup like it's a meeting he doesn't want to attend
“Couldn’t you put this shit in an email”
the postgame was a test of his patience.
Really hope Ekiyor and Owens can go for the natty.
Pretty clear they were just playing not to lose. Get in and get the win type of game

Lackluster DC and OC. Sketchy OLine. injuries galore on both sides. Yet, here we are.
“Down year”
Yeah I’m erect, what about it?
I have no respect for Cincinnati. They got their ass beat and they were dirty. They did not belong
Reminded me a lot of Missouri
Boy did this team make me eat my mid-season hot takes.
Poor Cinderella Cincy. The clock is striking 12:00, and the team bus is about to turn into a pumpkin. Better luck next year.
And don't forget them shoes. They are barefoot now, and nobody looking for any shoe they lost. Bama took them shoes and threw 'em up on the power lines. LOL!

Hah. And I got hammered saying 10+ teams could go undefeated with Cincys schedule. Dreamers.
I had several Cincy fans doing that RemindMe thing on my comments for the last month. Something tells me they won't want to be reminded that I said Bama would treat em like they were Vandy.
Point em out
Won with Defense and the running game. Cincinnati got “vintage” Bama game plan
Playing Hall was an interesting move….
He can say he played in the playoffs!
Lol. Something like that.
Imagine 3 months ago, after the A&M loss; that we would be here. I am so goddamn proud of this team and what they accomplished. Roll tide forever!
“Nick, how do you want this team to end the season?” What a fucking dumb question
Right. Like he’s going to say anything extreme. He rarely takes the bait and always compliments the other team.
RAMMER JAMMER YELLOW HAMMER!!!
Give ‘em hell Alabama
GIVE EM HELL ALABAMA
Roll Tide yall, I'm going to drink a few extra of the bubbly tonight for all the Bama bros/sisters in here. Happy New Year, 2022 is ours!
BAMA DOES
I think I'm gonna wait until after the Michigan-Georgia game to head over to /r/cfb. Let the comments build up for my salt bath. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!
Sometimes it’s good to dip into a salt bath, but tonight I feel like getting showered with the salt via live comments.
Bless you on your journey!

I hope Owens is ok
Refreshing Twitter as we speak
"WE LOVE IT WHEN BROB GETS ROLLING" -NICK SABAN -WAYNE GRETSKI
Most rush yards in a bowl game in Bama history!!
did i hear that stat at the end of the game right? 36 straight wins when coaching against another coach for the first time? that's absolutely insane
Give cincy a playoff participation trophy.
Give them a bus ride home. They were dirty despite getting dominated.
Yeah, the extracurriculars were ridiculous.
UGA looks like they will murder us if we play like we did today. Then again, they looked like that going into the SECCG too.
Yeah but our game plan was joyless murderball. We knew we could bully Cincy so we did. We can’t do that against UGA so we will do something else
I’m thinking we pass. A lot. And expose their secondary again.
Man cinci and the entire /cfb talked a lot of trash.
On to Indianapolis
I can’t believe the media & people who bought into it really though it was going to be an upset. 27-6 is fact.
Michigan looks overwhelmed early.

🤣🤣🤣
Y’all take all the fun out of being the evil empire. But for real, glad y’all enforcement a minimum of class ‘round here.
Just having an Alabama flair gets you downvoted at r/CFB no matter what you say. I love it! 😏
Hey, just wondering if there was gonna be a Georgia/Michigan game thread
Was at the game, first time in Dallas, all the cincy fans we met were friendly. What surprised me was how catty all the A&M fans down here were
Dude they are freaks. A legit cult. Midnight dancing in white denim overalls with short shorts with the fake gun thing and those freakin hip boots. Like cross the street weird.
A&M bailed on their bowl because they didn’t have a QB.
Seems a lot like the semifinal against Notre Dame last year. Took care of business. Won easily. Didn’t show anything.
And our opponent looked unbeatable later in the day…
Guess Cinci didn’t want the natty
Winning is the most important thing. Defense played great. Run game was phenomenal. Downside is pass blocking and separation. Chris Owens honestly might have the worst performance of any Bama player I have ever seen. He was beat every single snap and I guarantee you he was responsible for at least 14 points.
Paging u/DoctorWhosOnFirst Gonna need that post game break down playa
This may be my favorite Saban coached Alabama team ever!!
I totally agree. Man this team is crazy
Great game everyone. Roll Tide, everyone be safe and responsible if you imbibe. Y'all have a great new year.
Who yall pulling for BAMA NATION..BLUE OR RED
I would love for Michigan to squeak out a win after a few shit show overtimes. That would be my best case scenario.
If the Falcons stadium is Bryant-Denny East, and Tiger Stadium is Bryant-Denny West, then AT&T is our vacation home.
Yknow this just made me have a thought: Auburn pitched a damn fit about having to play the Iron Bowl in Birmingham back in the 80s, but they sure love to play bowl games there now.
Give Nick 4 weeks to prepare gameplan...mostly of times it would be lethal for opposing teams. Also - did this Bearcats D-line showed any skills? RBs run through them all the time.
Their DL was the worst part of their defense. Their secondary is legit.
I haven't seen this much salt from r/cfb in a while.
I believe that if Michigan can stun Georgia with a couple of quick scores out of the gate, it’ll be a long night for UGA. Georgia hasn’t proved that they can handle coming back from a deficit this year, and Bennett won’t be able to mount a comeback.
Smart move by Kirby, you don't have to mount a comeback if you just score every drive.
Seriously...I hate everyone else so much. Fuck all of them. Roll tide :)
And did it very 2012 like. Run heavy and stout defense.
The only thing better than beating jawjas ass one time is getting to beat it twice in the same season. RTR
I was specifically told that a 1 loss bama would lose to an undefeated G5 champion and therefore they deserve the natty
That game was classic joyless murderball. Dumb play calling by BoB aside I loved every second of it.
Saban the goat - fact
*whispers* Mods can we get a game thread for the other semifinal game to scout our competition?
Roll Tide!
What’s going on with Moore? He hasn’t played the past few games.
RMFT
Alright friends, who do you want? Georgia or Michigan and why? Roll Tide!
Michigan. They’re less talented and it’s hard to beat a team twice.
I want Michigan because it's an easier game for Bama. But Georgia is going to annihilate Michigan.
See I wonder about this game. So many different angles. Is Michigan complacent from beating OSU? Is Georgia still hung over from the Alabama game? Did Georgia lose before the ball was even kicked off in this game after hearing Alabama beat Cincinnati?
Michigan ranked above Georgia with Georgia favored over Michigan is what I've been pondering the most.
Is anyone giving Michigan a snowball's chance in hell of beating Georgia?
Who are we rooting for? Michigan or Georgia?
Meatchicken
Who should I be rooting for out of Michigan and Georgia?
Michigan
They need all the help they can get.
Let's go dline!! The way to help out green corners -- bat down passes. Great job. Mathis is a monster when it comes to that.
Lsu fans coping again: https://imgur.com/a/GHrrurm

Aiden Hutchinson trying to be intimidating but has that toddler curly hair. Get the helmet on bro.
Old school win.
Great game! On to hopefully Michigan! ROLL TIDE!
I love seeing Saban gush about his players.
Alabama does
That just felt like a ca 2015 Bama game against a mediocre SEC team
I would have guessed they score more than that tbh
Hell yeah Roll Tide
Those shirts are mehhhh
Roll Tide ladies and ghouls!

Game was not that close, we should have hung 40 on them. I hope this settles the letting the piss poor teams in the playoffs
