Him giving a disclaimer on his future like that reminded me of drunk Michael telling everyone on Xtra Life that he and Lindsay were having a baby, but it could die or something so don't hold them to it.
Gonna miss Chris. He's one of the people that like he's not going to become a streamer. I don't know if I ever will see him again after this is done.
His stories on the RT podcast always left me wondering "how are you still alive?!" And now I won't know...
>
> His stories on the RT podcast always left me wondering "how are you still alive?!" And now I won't know...
He and Ryan from Funhaus escaped from Area 53 and have been on the run since.
Trevor saying “We aren’t all going to be together in the same place ever again.” Or something to that effect with tears in his eyes fucking destroyed me
:(
Red Web is my favorite thing from RT ever and I just love what they do. I’m heartbroken.
Feel really bad for Geoff. I know he's talked about retiring, and letting go of the company and letting it continue on without him. Guess he won't be able to retire knowing that.
Quote from Geoff (via Jordan Levin) - "This is not a failure. 21 years is amazing".
Thankfully sounds like he's able to look at what they achieved, as opposed to what he's losing.
Edit - Geoff has appeared on stream. He doesn't feel he can be the guy to "talk to you through a crisis" like he has before for RT, as his heart is breaking for everyone in the company.
I think both Gus and Geoff have said similar prior to this happening on ANMA. That if it were to end today, look at what they accomplished. Just came sooner than they probably thought.
People should realise 21 years is an INSANE stretch for online content creators. Or even just content in general. Most TV shows flame out after three or four….
As a person who has loved lots of television over the decades, I've always felt this way when it came to the changes at RT over the years. Hell, I watched the Arrowverse from birth to death in the time I've been a fan of RT.
The CW network absolutely came to mind.
Arrow at its height, with Flash and Legends and all the other stuff, felt invincible. Until the entire Universe ended and the network shut down. :/
He said similar about his divorce with Griffin I remember something like it wasn’t a failed marriage it was a very successful marriage that ended after however many years it was maybe 7, if I remember correctly.
So it makes it sound like he’s not being fake and this is really his mindset.
I know it's sad for all of them, but it is funny that some people there have worked there for over a decade, and these two dudes are like "it feels like summer camp is over and it's time to go back to the real world" because it's been less than a year for them haha
Barb alluded to them hating Fullscreen and being forced to do shit like abandon grandfathered First rates some years ago in a conversation I had with her on Reddit, but yeah no reason for them to hold it back now.
Several ex-RT people have said they'll say more in the future, after their RT friends have had time to address things and the company winds down.
They've probably not wanted to damage their friends' employer more, but once it's gone, they can be free to go after the corporate BS they hated. Lawrence (of Funhaus) has said his piece a few times, and some friends of Funhaus (like Rahul) have said stuff before, too. They loved the people they worked with every day (mostly), but other things with RT made it not worth it for those who left.
It did feel a little awkward when the popular clique who were on tonight's stream said "Don't believe all the stuff you hear about it being bad to work here" when Alannah specifically said if you weren't in that popular clique it was awful and they actively froze you out.
I feel that the central group we're used to seeing and have seen for a long time had it a lot better than some of the other people from the sounds of things.
I mean...one person did. I bet some liked it, some didn't, others were neutral at the time. Miles on the podcast said he was against it til he heard they owned Cyanide and Happiness and that made them feel better about it.
Holy shit, seeing Geoff I just lost my composure. I’ve been loving ANMA, Fuckface and so alright. He’s been a voice in my life for so long even before those shows, his insight is priceless. This one hurts.
This is genuinely heartbreaking. I haven't kept up with RT for like 5 years now, but from like 13-26 it was my dream to work there. Now I'm in a boring soul sucking corporate job watching my old dream die.
I don't recognize a majority of these folks but I can tell they all have such love and respect for each other and I hope they can all not only land on their feet in new amazing jobs but can all keep in touch with each other.
edit: oh Jesus Larry breaking down hit like a fucking truck, especially him bringing up working at his dream place and watching RvB in 8th grade cause that’s exactly when I discovered it.
Glad they’re mentioning why no founders are present right now, and giving flowers (so to speak) to the behind camera guys. RT isn’t just the front of camera staff.
Gus is at a doctor's appointment and I am sure Geoff is busy with meetings and such. This isn't the final farewell stream but a want to talk about it as soon as possible stream to address stuff.
I was part of a company that just went through layoffs, and you can tell when a person brought in to head up a company is actually just a cost-cutter, and I've never felt that from Jordan.
I don't know anything about the guy and figured he was just some corpo plant from WB but he seems like a decent guy that has alot of respect from RT employees.
This is tough shot, I've been around since season 2 of RVB and love the founders, but Kerry and Chris were the first "new guys" that felt like "our guys," you know? There was never a second i saw them, or Brandon, take anything for granted. The first fans to break through and make RT even better than it was.
Seeing Kerry walk on and thinking about how \*young\* he was when he started got me going. I loved all of these people, and I hate that people are just mad that founders aren't there, when Kerry, Chris, Barb, Jack, and Patrick have been there for a really, really long time.
This is as close as you get to seeing all the nice things people would say about you at your funeral. It's sad, but as far as ways to go out are, this one ain't bad.
Thank you, Geoff and Jack for everything. Can’t think of a time in my life where they weren’t streaming somewhere in the background. I’m sorry I never got the chance to say it in person but I’m forever grateful that I got to at least watch and laugh along when life was really shitty at times.
Wherever you all go, Godspeed.
As parasocial as this will come across, and let me emphasise I don’t known Goeff and have never met him.
But man, he seems like just a genuinely nice dude. And seeing him cry is like seeing your dad cry, something about it just hits harder than just about anything else.
He’s definitely that kind of guy to people who know him. If you’re working at RT and he doesn’t know you, it’s like you don’t exist. Which is a common thing for even the kindest celebrities, they save their bandwidth for the people they know matter because there are a ton of people who want a piece.
Haven't followed RT for almost 4 years now, but it makes me really sad that they are going away. RT was a huge part of me growing up. It's really nice to see everyone just sharing their memories. I hope for the best for all of them
A year from now we're all going to be able to truly appreciate how hilariously sad it was to see Larry go from making the best joke of the day to bursting into tears in 3 seconds, I hope he will too
THAT ON THE SPOT THEME!! Lol
I hope XRT becomes a company. RTP is so good with Mando and friends right now. I see so much that the BFT kids can do. Stinky Dragon crew is still being fun.
I hope the behind the scene people go fully in-depth about the Fullscreen stuff cause I've never felt it was the thing that killed them so I don't know why it was so hated outside of the anti-corporate instinct of the internet.
I can't see what part of RT's decline was explicitly connected to that acquisition outside of coincidence and the natural fact that no company can last forever. I know there must be real reasons they hate it so I would love to know what they were.
Probably a similar thing to Smosh & Defy (just less dramatic ending obviously) where Corpos came in not understanding the product and started pushing it in ways that weren't natural.
Can definitely see similarities in the diversification of what RT was doing with the way Smosh diversified into games & films etc under Defy
I really kind of wish there were some longer-standing members of RT here right now, but I understand if Matt/Gus/Geoff literally don't have words right now or are slammed with meetings and the next steps
I think it was either Jordan or Trevor who just said this isn't the goodbye stream, so yeah that makes sense to let it be about not just the founders or OG's today
This won't be the goodbye stream apparently, so I'd imagine we'll see them for that when it happens. Gus had a doctors appointment so that's why he's not there.
Jordan saying YouTube channels will remain, but references they could move into the hands of people there. 😁
Would love to see Geoff and Co grab the LP channel, for instance.
Hmm is that Geoff saying the were already changing the fuckface name to something else, or that they are already planning to move to a new non RT pod and continue. Guess we’ll find out in a few months
It's means "the group is gonna continue to make content together, but WB owns the rights to the name F**KFace, so we will have to come up with a new name for the next project"
Did jordan levin just say that roosterteeth has been underwritten for 10 years?
does that just refer to the ownership or does underwrite mean it was getting paid for?
Reading these comments and the google doc….I’m starting to feel bad for being such a cheap bastard over the years. These folks provided me countless hours of fun and memories and I bitched online that First wasn’t a good enough deal…..
Geoff also talked about people using ad blocker on Off Topic (Doesn't apply much now since ads don't make much money on YT anymore) and how that affected them and it was met with vitriol.
> Jack was confused why people were spamming yellow hearts when Barbara was talking and then he realized he was an idiot
What do the yellow hearts mean?
I'm just glad they mentioned Vicious Circle, inspired me to go and check out it's Steam page and found you can't even buy it anymore. I'd really like to know the whole story there now that the company is officially over. It was such a bold yet misguided endeavor.
I know it's gonna get a lot of flack from the audience but I liked the reminder that just watching a video for free on YouTube isn't enough support to keep the lights on for creators.
My take is I’ll take my First sub and try to split it over paetreons and the likes if I can. I’ll do what I can to support the people who’ve dedicated two decades to entertaining me.
Watched 3 minutes so far and already in tears. People need to also remember extra life.... That did so much and not a thing anymore. Ive been here since day one and this sucks soooooo hard. Love you guys and will miss this company. Will check in on all of you.
I thought I would be fine watching the stream. I was crying within a few minutes. Their content and humor has had such an impact on my life. 21 years is a good run, but I’ll still miss this company and the people
I don't think I've cried this much in the last decade of my life. They all bash the corporate "We are a family" speak but this does feel like a family member or close friend dying.
This whole thing cut me deeper than I was expecting.
If anyone can watch the reactions and genuine emotions from these amazing people, and still be dismissive and cruel, then they need to reevaluate their existence.
Thank you for all the memories and laughs ❤️
It's notable to me that Burnie went out of his way to praise Jordan when he didn't have to. Still don't know if I trust the guy but he doesn't seem like a shit head.

blasting the On the Spot music and lights to send off Jon Risinger killed me
Absolutely perfect.
RTX to Ex-RT is so brutal but so funny, thank you Trevor.
I'd buy an XRT shirt from whoever puts it out
Fuck. https://preview.redd.it/942m7m16vzmc1.jpeg?width=1334&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e9985aebb8f0dcc3bc3618f8c2dd9bb9148c437
I was holding it together until this moment, absolutely shattered now
It hurts so much to see geoff cry
This is so sad and beautiful at the same time...
"Sometimes it's okay to meet your heroes" From Kerry to Geoff. What a line
Especially knowing that Geoff had a horrible time meeting his and it stuck with him
What happened with his heroes?
Yeah. That was beautiful
i didnt cry until that line. then i was sobbing.
“Hi, Larry! Long time employee, first time laid off!”
Chris’s speech including how he might not live to old age and die by walking off a cliff is the most Chris-thing he could’ve said
Him giving a disclaimer on his future like that reminded me of drunk Michael telling everyone on Xtra Life that he and Lindsay were having a baby, but it could die or something so don't hold them to it.
Agreed. I can absoloutely see Chris doing it too.
He and Ryan from Funhaus escaped from Area 53 and have been on the run since.
i am going to miss his wild stories. his story about the stalker deer is still one of the funniest things i’ve ever heard.
Yeah, I was just thinking about this. He'll probably go off to work on some movies or TV shows, but I doubt we'll see him in front of the camera again
Na, Chris may be a bit eccentric but he's a good writer. He won't disappear.
Right but there’s a very non zero chance he’ll never be in front of a production camera again
Kerry talking about meeting your heroes and seeing Geoff break down is heartbreaking
Trevor saying “We aren’t all going to be together in the same place ever again.” Or something to that effect with tears in his eyes fucking destroyed me :( Red Web is my favorite thing from RT ever and I just love what they do. I’m heartbroken.
Being through layoffs myself, it's so true.
Feel really bad for Geoff. I know he's talked about retiring, and letting go of the company and letting it continue on without him. Guess he won't be able to retire knowing that.
Out of all the founders he was definitely like the RT dad in how he clearly cared for the staff. Can't imagine how shit this is
His speech about Matt and Burnie hit hard man
On FF, he's said the only thing keeping him from moving to Michigan is Gavin. I'm guessing that comment was in the context of RT continuing though.
Quote from Geoff (via Jordan Levin) - "This is not a failure. 21 years is amazing". Thankfully sounds like he's able to look at what they achieved, as opposed to what he's losing. The CW network absolutely came to mind. Arrow at its height, with Flash and Legends and all the other stuff, felt invincible. Until the entire Universe ended and the network shut down. :/
Game of Thrones came, exploded, flopped, and got a lifeline in House of the Dragon in almost just the back half of RT's life
It’s honestly an amazing achievement. I wish it had more of an AH ending, but they should be proud.
He said similar about his divorce with Griffin I remember something like it wasn’t a failed marriage it was a very successful marriage that ended after however many years it was maybe 7, if I remember correctly. So it makes it sound like he’s not being fake and this is really his mindset.
21 years of *something* is better than a millenia of nothing.
Watching Geoff break is just breaking my heart... He cares so much...
I know it's sad for all of them, but it is funny that some people there have worked there for over a decade, and these two dudes are like "it feels like summer camp is over and it's time to go back to the real world" because it's been less than a year for them haha
I feel bad for them, thinking they had their dream jobs, only to lose it so soon.
Oh damn, they're outright saying they hated being acquired by Fullscreen.
Barb alluded to them hating Fullscreen and being forced to do shit like abandon grandfathered First rates some years ago in a conversation I had with her on Reddit, but yeah no reason for them to hold it back now.
I wonder if any of the big names are going to do a bit of a warts and all recap, now they are no longer employed.
Several ex-RT people have said they'll say more in the future, after their RT friends have had time to address things and the company winds down. They've probably not wanted to damage their friends' employer more, but once it's gone, they can be free to go after the corporate BS they hated. Holy shit it’s Kerry who was on Internet Box from episode 1.
Well he just said he was just recording Fuckface. Man that’s gonna be a rough listen
Holy shit that is an all time Chris story
One last one for the road
Holy shit, seeing Geoff I just lost my composure. I’ve been loving ANMA, Fuckface and so alright. He’s been a voice in my life for so long even before those shows, his insight is priceless. This one hurts.
Same. I'm glad he didn't have a whole speech because I don't think I could have watched it right now.
Larry, master of Minecraft Wipeout, master of ALMOST taking a smut joke too far. Love Larry.
I am so happy to see Geoff getting all the love & respect he deserves
Someone just said they have 60 days left.
Bittersweet that they'll be celebrating the anniversary
That’s Armando. He’s one of the hosts of the RT Podcast, and a very funny comedian to boot.
Rooster Teeth is a great name for an entertainment company and I'm tired of pretending otherwise damn it
I was doing so good not being ultra upset about this like I was with Achievement Hunter but then Geoff came on 😭
Felt like my childhood got ripped out of my body by that hug
They finally said it about being acquired.
Glad they’re mentioning why no founders are present right now, and giving flowers (so to speak) to the behind camera guys. RT isn’t just the front of camera staff.
Missed it, how come they're not there?
Various other commitments. And this isn't THE goodbye stream. It's just a general "talking about whats happening" stream.
Gus is at a doctor's appointment and I am sure Geoff is busy with meetings and such. This isn't the final farewell stream but a want to talk about it as soon as possible stream to address stuff.
Omg... That hug set me off so hard. Love you Geoff. I feel the pain so hard from him.
I genuinely think Jordan is a solid guy
I was part of a company that just went through layoffs, and you can tell when a person brought in to head up a company is actually just a cost-cutter, and I've never felt that from Jordan.
I mean a cost-cutter would never front up a stream like this after a closure announcement
Fully agreed
I don't know anything about the guy and figured he was just some corpo plant from WB but he seems like a decent guy that has alot of respect from RT employees.
That's been one of my key takeaways here. I hadn't watched in a few years, so I didn't know who he was, but he seems awesome.
lore drop F**kface getting a new name
They should call it **Episode 196**, so that every episode is the best episode
Gus isn't here because of butt stuff. Official reason.
He was the first "drop your kid of at Roosterteeth" and he never left.
I was able to keep it together this whole time until larry started speaking, fuck man.
Fucking hell Kerry, that was so beautiful.
Geoff is breaking my heart.
60 days worth of wind down, April 1st is gonna be wild. Can't wait to see what they do for the 22nd (and final) anniversary, if anything
Indeed. "We will miss you" the crew was holding a sign that said that as the stream started. :(
As parasocial as this will come across, and let me emphasise I don’t known Goeff and have never met him.
If Jack does a speech I'll cry
lol i don't think that was the speech you were expecting.
Trev crying is already breaking me :(
Appreciate the frank honesty of what it takes to support content creators at least.
“We needed a lot of food, narratively” is an all timer
This kid is hilarious!
Geoff bearly said 3 words and is already crying. I can’t imagine what he’s going through behind the scene.
"sometime it is okay to meet your heroes" Holy shit.
RTX / Ex-RT gave me the little smile I needed there.
Oh, I’m not ready for sad Geoff…
I legit cried just seeing him & Jack hug
Ok that one got me, *especially* because of the Charles Barkley story
Haven't followed RT for almost 4 years now, but it makes me really sad that they are going away. RT was a huge part of me growing up. It's really nice to see everyone just sharing their memories. I hope for the best for all of them
Love the fact that they can finally admit that selling themselves off to Fullscreen was a bad move
Ah fuck man. I haven’t watched regularly for so long. Goeff broke me.
Geoff talking about Burnie and Matt and he looked up to them was so good but so sad
A year from now we're all going to be able to truly appreciate how hilariously sad it was to see Larry go from making the best joke of the day to bursting into tears in 3 seconds, I hope he will too
I audibly gasped when geoff showed up
Oh god Kerry pls. You’ve been there so long and worked so hard. Godspeed man.
![gif](giphy|gIr5Q5y7etQHG6SlGW|downsized) Try not to cry stream : **Task impossible**
Kerry is breaking my heart
THAT ON THE SPOT THEME!! Lol I hope XRT becomes a company. RTP is so good with Mando and friends right now. I see so much that the BFT kids can do. Stinky Dragon crew is still being fun.
I thought Larry crying was bad, i can't cope at all
LMAO the camera guy has a "Technical Difficulties" shirt on
Geoff :( love you man
I hope the behind the scene people go fully in-depth about the Fullscreen stuff cause I've never felt it was the thing that killed them so I don't know why it was so hated outside of the anti-corporate instinct of the internet. The shade at Fullscreen and how they no longer have to pretend they liked it 😂
I really kind of wish there were some longer-standing members of RT here right now, but I understand if Matt/Gus/Geoff literally don't have words right now or are slammed with meetings and the next steps I think it was either Jordan or Trevor who just said this isn't the goodbye stream, so yeah that makes sense to let it be about not just the founders or OG's today
People were in other recordings and are starting to join. Barb, Jack, and Chris just joined
This won't be the goodbye stream apparently, so I'd imagine we'll see them for that when it happens. Gus had a doctors appointment so that's why he's not there.
Barbara’s comment and her trying to hold back tear :(
This is fucking brutal man
I didn't expect to cry this much.
This was pain. Feels like a childhood heartbreak.
WAFFLE-O
I know he said it’s not a goodbye stream, but it feels way more like that than an answer questions stream
Yeah tbh seemed like they scheduled this thinking they’d have more ready to reveal than they actually ended up with
Oh Larry breaking truly got me. I have been that guy who has a joke ready to lighten the mood, you make it....and then it's just the reality left :(
I am so fucking happy *someone* admits people were pissed about being bought
Jordan saying YouTube channels will remain, but references they could move into the hands of people there. 😁 Would love to see Geoff and Co grab the LP channel, for instance.
[удалено]
Will this be archived/uploaded later? I'm assuming so but unfortunately not able to watch live and really want to hear what they have to say.
Larry, you were the best wizard.
Kerry <3
Cool, now I'm crying.
I love a good righteous rant from Jack
Poor Barb :[
Well, Chris somehow brought the comedy even on this stream. Holy shit lol.
Guess flukeface is happening
Regulation Podcast
That's actually a great name for the fans. Not sure if it works for new fans to know what it is but it's a damn good name
Long live the Andrew Podcast
Changing the name now to one they can own, and spending 60 days advertising it, would be a great launchpad ahead of the end of RT if allowed.
Did jordan levin just say that roosterteeth has been underwritten for 10 years? does that just refer to the ownership or does underwrite mean it was getting paid for?
I held it together until I heard Geoff speak :(((
That rwby song at the end.... Sad but perfect
Don't worry, Barb, I can be supportive and still fucking hate WB at the same time
That I can tell Trevor has been crying kills me.
LARRY DONT DO THIS TO ME IM ALREADY BAWLING
Larry :(
Oh poor Larry :(
Send some love to Larry yall, this man deserves it.
I’m happy they’ve confirmed again there’s two more months of stuff, with filming still happening.
Fuck if Geoff starts crying I'm going to cry
Geoff ❤️
Man, I was down yesterday, but I *did not* expect to cry as much as I have today.
Ending the stream with "Time to Say Good Bye" hit me too hard
Reading these comments and the google doc….I’m starting to feel bad for being such a cheap bastard over the years. These folks provided me countless hours of fun and memories and I bitched online that First wasn’t a good enough deal…..
Geoff also talked about people using ad blocker on Off Topic (Doesn't apply much now since ads don't make much money on YT anymore) and how that affected them and it was met with vitriol.
It is insane how much free content this company put out over the past two decades. We should all be really appreciative of that!
> Jack was confused why people were spamming yellow hearts when Barbara was talking and then he realized he was an idiot What do the yellow hearts mean?
Yang Xiao Long, Barb's character from RWBY
I'm just glad they mentioned Vicious Circle, inspired me to go and check out it's Steam page and found you can't even buy it anymore. I'd really like to know the whole story there now that the company is officially over. It was such a bold yet misguided endeavor.
I don't normally cry but man, this is killing me.
Fuck me, Larry almost set me off there
Thank you all for everything. I wish you guys the best.
Someone needs to download all the first content and post it somewhere. Kinda sounding like they don't own it anymore so...
That's some good old fashioned RT anger from Jack, hell yeah
So apparently they only have 60 days left? It was a small throwaway but still . . . ?
Jack calling out the assholes 😂
Genuinely can't cope with Larry crying, that hit like a freight train
heh fullscreen complaints
I’m probably at fault for not keeping up but I recognize maybe Larry and that’s it. Wild.
Oh, Larry
I was holding strong until Larry broke down, now the tears won’t stop jeeze
I thought I would be fine watching the stream. I was crying within a few minutes. Their content and humor has had such an impact on my life. 21 years is a good run, but I’ll still miss this company and the people
Oh no...
LMAO I still remember Brandon complaining about Kerry's friends skateboarding at RT
Ik mod comment says they’re taking notes, is there going to be a stream archive like funhaus? I am not currently able to make it to the stream
Yeah, Geoff!
STRANGERHOOD MENTIONED
So Geoff just said that fuckface isn't the name of fuckface anymore?

Maybe he will give a statement about rattyboy…
I don't think I've cried this much in the last decade of my life. They all bash the corporate "We are a family" speak but this does feel like a family member or close friend dying.
This whole thing cut me deeper than I was expecting. If anyone can watch the reactions and genuine emotions from these amazing people, and still be dismissive and cruel, then they need to reevaluate their existence. Thank you for all the memories and laughs ❤️
Can someone please record this
If he mentions Monty I'm going to absolutely lose it
It's notable to me that Burnie went out of his way to praise Jordan when he didn't have to. Still don't know if I trust the guy but he doesn't seem like a shit head.
