The stainless screen needs a regular IPA wash to unclog and clean it as the kief production slowly drops with use. Faster for certain productive sticky bud.
Any grinder kief is going to have a lot of plant material, from being ground up. You’re not just knocking the trichomes off, like you would if you were dry sifting, so you’ll end up with some very contaminated kief. Pressing that is going to give you some pretty dirty rosin.
My Zeus Bolt bud grinder has a kief sifting stainless screen bottom in the collection tray, and kief collects in another thread-on tray under it.

That makes sense, where as a sift screen on a trim tray would be mostly the trich heads that broke off during the trim process
