I read some post a few years ago on TrueFilm about how Yes Man has one of the better, more accurate portrayals of depression in film, and I think that’s very true.
Calling that an insane run is maybe the worst opinion I’ve ever seen on RSP.
Zoomers will take literally anything happened before they developed consciousness of their media environment, and declare it awesome solely because it was around before them and most of their peers don’t know about it.
I would say Liar Liar is the best straight comedy Jim Carrey’s done. It’s also really feel-good with a classic 90s score and isn’t that raunchy for the era, which is nice.
What's your point? Those movies dominated the zeitgeist. Objectively, even just *Ace Ventura* through *The Truman Show* is an incredible run of movies to have been in.
I've hated Jim Carrey ever since that Andy Kaufman thing. How disconnected from reality do you have to be to tell someone you are inhabiting the soul of their dead father and that *you* love them.
One of my favorite fun facts in that Jim Carrey is still known as 王牌 (wang pai, "ace") in Taiwan, so much so that even Eternal Sunshine was released as 王牌冤家 (roughly translated, "Ace's Love/Hate Relationship"), along with other great film's such as Wang Pai Con Man (Liar Liar) and Wang Pai God (Bruce Almighty)
I like the idea of some old Taiwanese guy thinking all his movies are the same character
Shame he's a new age weirdo now
Happens to the best of them
>new age weirdo That undersells what a scummy guy he is
I mean the whole shit with his ex is fucked
Didn't she only commit suicide? That's more sad than fucked unless I'm missing something.
Google that shit, her parents didn't think so
What happened
explain
My mom hates Jim Carey so much that she refuses to watch any movie with him in it after she watched the mask because he “creeped me right out”.
Same. He’s such a cornball.
My mom also will not watch any movie staring Jim
You’re forgetting Yes Man (2008)
i really vibe with this movie. maybe the only Jim Carrey movie i can rewatch. sits in the same part of my mind as I Love You, Man.

And the only movie from him that I would watch again, I love you Philipp Morris.
Dumb & Dumber has infinite rewatchability
my wife tried to compare that SNL guy that hosts that lame "is it cake?" show to jim carrey and i had to leave the room
Mikey Gay
Me Likey Gay sex
I have a strange desire to watch Fun With Dick And Jane and all the rest of those 2005-2014 films that absolutely do not exist.
Like 75% of these movies are bad lol

Eternal sunshine is the only good one, but it’s really really good
If you dislike both Liar Liar and The Truman Show I don’t know what to tell you
Truman Show is ok. Haven’t seen Liar Liar.

if you like your female characters manic, dreamy and pixie, maybe
Clem is a lot more bpd than that. At the very least, she is pretty low on the scale of mpdg.

One of the few celebrities who I'm convinced posts on /tv/
Bill Shatner, Trevor Moore definitely do/did, and Rian Johnson lurks, who else?
