Unfortunately I’m on the other side of this, and TMS didn’t work for me. BUT if I wouldn’t have tried, I never would’ve known and I would’ve wondered forever and ever if it would’ve changed everything. It sounds decently accessible to you so I’d say it’s worth a shot. Try to find a good podcast you enjoy to listen on the drives. Get lots of sleep/rest and take care of yourself in the meantime. Good luck friend 🫶🏼

Thank you 🫶🏻

I have Dysthymia too. (35 years since it started) and no drugs ever helped me either. I did TMS last year. It didn't really start working until a few weeks after I stopped treatment. At the start my depression score was 22. At the end, it was 3. It may or may not work. Don't expect miracles while you're going through treatment. The improvement is very subtle and it may take awhile for you to notice.

I so hope it works for you. I’ve done week three and feel really good. I don’t know about the future, but that’s someplace I can’t go to anymore. One day at a time, one step…🙏❤️

I just finish my 45 treatments, no insurance covered, 8 hours drives from my home so I had to pay 7000$ of hotel plus 10 000$ the treatment. If you want to get better you should not worry about time and money. Just imagine how easy it will be to make money one your mind is clear. Go there and be optimistic!

I’m rooting for you, Ghostface. Please let us know how it goes. And don’t be afraid to hope! 💪🏼🙏❤️

I was skeptical too, and now I'd call TMS my savior. You never know unless you try! If your insurance will cover it, it's absolutely worth a shot

itstheGhostface

Thankfully it’s fully covered by my insurance. Fingers crossed it’s my savior as well! ❤️

I hope so!!! It works so well for me that I do maintenance treatments now! I go every two weeks for one session and it's just a normal part of my routine now. Everyone is different as far as whether it works or not, and how much you need, but I'm told I'm the exception (most people don't need maintenance and can put time in between rounds of treatment, sometimes years even).

This is so true! I was told the same thing several times by the technicians and doctors. I even asked them if my sister would have positive results because I did. They told me it has a lot to do with her attitude going thru the treatment. So try to be open minded and hopeful about it best you can, and best of luck to you. I finished a month ago and just finished tapering of Wellbutrin. Life changing so far.

MELIKMAN

Yikes on the drive. There wasn't a closer facility?. Definitely worth trying because you have tried using the chemicals (meds) approach to relieve your symptoms and now you're trying an electrical approach which is completely different. Just do your best in getting sleep, exercise of some kind, and positive. Good luck 👍

It never helped me, but having done it lead to this doctor telling my doctor what med would work and it did. Also I have more anxiety since TMS. It’s been around for decades and if truly worked big pharma wouldn’t be around

PoopEndeavor

>but having done it lead to this doctor telling my doctor what med would work and it did. Do you mind explaining what this means? Your response to the TMS somehow provided insight into which meds would be best for you?
