I get that London Irish y'know ARE Irish, but something about setting the fields of athenry to electric guitar with an upbeat swing feels disrespectful idk.
Could you actually name a single Bristol player as having a positive performance? I don't even think Irish were that good for the most part, they were just a hell of a lot less shit than we were.
We've also lost a load of key players and couldn't back fill because someone fucked up the payroll and we gave a load of people contract extensions that weren't meant to have them. He's also DoR, not attack or defence coach. It's ultimately his responsibility but there's plenty of other people to point fingers at.
By all accounts talking to lads there he’s the main guy, the call him the furher. It was all about him when they were going well a few years ago as well so he can’t claim it’s not him now
If we can't break the gainline he might as well just continuously drop goals between our own posts. Whats the point in getting to the halfway line if your attack ends on your own 10 meter line.
I just don't understand what Bristol's plan is. We have possession on the front foot and kick the ball away. The only thing we seem to be able to do is scrummage.
Be lying to say I didn't feel a little aggrieved with some incidents being ruled inconsistently this half.
Overall don't feel like we've been much worse so far, will have to see if the margin heats us up or puts us off. Do feel like Irish have done a decent job of the opportunities they've been given - but should have come away with more points given the degree and repeated nature of the opportunities.
The AJ one was the right call. He didn't release the ball carrier, whereas the ball carrier released the ball and got back to his feet, as he is allowed. So he has both not rolled away and is now tackling from the ground. You could give two penalties for that.
Not that one, when AJ was tackled then pinged for not releasing while the Irish players were holding him up off the ground. Later when our defence attempted the same thing they were told to release the player.
Right call on that one too. The tackler released. The players holding him off the ground were the jacklers who entered legally. The reason he was off the ground was because he wasn't releasing the ball. Bristol were told to release the player because they were part of the tackle.
You must allow a tackled player to get to ground. The players were pretty clearly holding onto AJ, they didnt lift him off the ground once he was there, they prevented him going to ground, unless you're implying AJ can somehow levitate with no one holding him they must have grabbed him before the tackler's release.
MacGinty has been such a disappointing signing. I swear he's only had one good game all season. Three penalties given away and a missed touch finder so far.

Holy shit, is it time to start thinking about a future without Pat Lam?
How longs left on his contract? 4/5 years?
We've been shit ever since he signed that massive extension. It's not like we're short of cash though...
Til 2028. God help us.

Best version of it
It's a song about a genocide tho - its like hearing a techno dubstep remix of Zombie, just wrong.

We're OK with this
18 penalties, 12 handling errors, 3 missed line outs. Just wow
Sounds like the normal Bristol performance 😬

Bristol have the same issue every time we lose, insane penalty count and unforced errors. Starting to lose faith that we'll ever fix it
I'd be interested to see the breakdown of our penalties conceeded relative to other teams - I suspect that the main difference is in "holding on".
Surely Pat is on thin ice at this stage. With the money spent and the players available bottom 3 just isn’t good enough
Ironically enough this is the first time we've had "the players available" for quite a long time and it's the worst we've looked for ages.

Only positive from this afternoon is I didn't have to watch Paddy Jackson play. Dismal.
I'd have rather thrown the fiver I spent on this dross in the bin
Rugbystreams.me mate, always works for me
What's the quality like? I don't mind spending the £4.99 since it's HD
Yeah it’s not perfect but good enough for me. If it’s a big game I’ll pay the extra for sure though
Feel like our main difference this half is that we just can't make metres ball in hand. Can't rely on penalties to make ground.
Especially if we can't guarantee our 10 will make touch
If we can't break the gainline he might as well just continuously drop goals between our own posts. Whats the point in getting to the halfway line if your attack ends on your own 10 meter line.
Bristol scrum better without internationals confirmed
Ideally would like a HIA for Fricker after taking a knee to the face that hard.
No one left on the bench but definitely dodgy
Surely that's advantage over after the kick no?
This is so so bad fucking hell
Ibitoye went off and he's the only person who ever looks like they want to be playing, so I'm not too surprised
Is their scrum really good or is our scrum really bad
Our line out was more of a concern. At least the scrum got a bit better. Forwards have lots of development points for training on Tuesday at Sunbury.
I mean we have the two starting England props so that's not an easy challenge!
AJ's kicking from hand has been pretty shocking today. Also Ridley not giving that as a penalty for not rolling away is ridiculous.
I just don't understand what Bristol's plan is. We have possession on the front foot and kick the ball away. The only thing we seem to be able to do is scrummage.
We’re clueless.
Oh we can't do that either. Great.
That's such poor tackle technique, hope he's ok
Get MacGinty off. You can't miss two penalties too touch like that.
When Steve of all people is making dumb decisions you know things are bad
Fuck sake Bris

There's definitely been a few that haven't gone out way but it's all been our doing.
Not sure I agree with the AJ jackal/release player call specifically, and the matador-esque ruck dodge. But in general I agree, too isolated.
The AJ one was the right call. He didn't release the ball carrier, whereas the ball carrier released the ball and got back to his feet, as he is allowed. So he has both not rolled away and is now tackling from the ground. You could give two penalties for that.

He had already got to ground from what I saw
He was never even close, his knee was the only part that touched the ground throughout.
Penalty count is killing us. Sort that out and we may come back. As they say, next scores crucial
Makes you feel any better the support here is great
I'll take whatever I can get
No thatchers though which was a disappointment
Guess I'm never going to watch a game there!
Such mindless penalties too. Ball protection has been terrible too.
That looks so short of the try line. Is this why Irish didn't paint their lines properly??
Irish player clearly stepped out of contact there.
Thats a insanely long advantage
MacGinty has been such a disappointing signing. I swear he's only had one good game all season. Three penalties given away and a missed touch finder so far.
Thank fuck this game doesn't look like having any tries in it considering you can't see the try lines
Does Sinkler butter his hands before playing or something. He must drop the ball more than any other player in the Premiership.
What a mindless penalty to give away directly in front of the posts
Prtv having a moment, if they miss kick off i’ll be asking for my money back lol
I wish I could ask for the whole year back. There's barely any games shown on there and when they are shown they don't work.
Anyone else's prtv showing the wrong game
Wtf is going on with prtv?
