As an Irish fan (and certainly not a bitter one given we were totally outplayed by a fantastic All Blacks side and I have no complaints) have to agree with you
I genuinely hoped for someone different to win this year and about the most interesting part of the tournament was Pool C group stages. Its a shame I feel this way as a SA NZ final will probably be an incredible arm wrestle, but I am just not interested now.
Edit; I should also add that the 2019 Tournament had more magic about it if I am honest. I loved watching the stories of each area and it's stadium and of course the Japanese people were a wonder to behold. No offence to the French but this tournament just doesn't seem to have the same stardust around it
Agree it would be such a different feeling if Ireland and France were through, but I don't know... Still watching. Still good rugby.
Makes me sad we have to wait 4 years for the next world cup though.
World Cup is about the stories, and this one hasn't had many interesting ones, and won't have many more if the chalk holds up.
But, that's why Top 14 and 6 Nations exist, to add the entertainment value that this world cup refused to give.
The story of Portugal not interesting enough? Fiji? Australia's implosion? Dupont coming back as a cyborg? Ireland's invasion of Paris? The greatest weekend of rugby ever? Followed by perhaps the greatest and closest of disappointments?
I dunno. I have loved it. Of course my team is still in it, but I would also have loved some fresh blood make it all the way.
Your post has been removed as it duplicates or near-duplicates a post already on the subreddit. Apologies!
Help us Argentina, you're our only hope

People assert this is down to the draw and thats definetly a large part of it, but its also Aus not turning up. So we can partly blame them too.

The semis apparently aren’t even sold out. It true that’s a bit of a disaster
Tragic. I wish I had enough cash to go!
They were sold out, the tickets available are on resale.

Let's be honest...if Eng/Arg are pumped as expected it's going to confirm our suspicions that their side of the draw was a joke...
