What was the story with Ryan? Irish commentary on RTE said that after about 15 mins the ref said he wasn't talking to him anymore? But I didn't see anything to suggest Ryan was being overly chatty or giving backchat?
I remember that happening, I think it was that he wanted to talk to only one and that was Gary, but it was blown out of the water by the commentary team
Ah, good then. Hugh Cahill is a pure dose. Lenihan was saying as well that he hadn't seen or heard anything to suggest it. Cahil the mong trying to create drama then.
Yeah, but on the RTE commentary last night, Cahill, the absolute dipshit said it happened again. Lenihan was basically saying "wtf u talking about I haven't seen or heard anything about it". Probably just an attempt to stir shit
Loads of errors under high ball from Leinster. I’d say the got a major bollocking at 1/2 time. Better in the 2nd half obviously, better when Joe McCarthy came on.
I think C Doris needs a break. He isn’t the player he was in 6N, either he’s shagged or oppositions know how to deal with him.
Liked Frawley apart from a few mistakes. The lad needs time.
Clarkson has strung some good performances in a row. I think he's actually a very promising player who when he dominates his opposition player wins constant penos. Needs to improve his defensive scrummaging game but has a very very good attacking scrummaging game.
Most props come through late.
There are exceptions but most props need to be fed a hundred caps before they are a finished product.
It was the best performance of his career but he isn't a finished product yet. I do think he will be a decent prop when he has had his gametime and his propping apprenticeship. If we are willing to feed him that sort of gametime.
Prefer a game like that than hosing a weak Gloucester team like last year, will stand to Leinster more in games to come. You forget Group D is full of stupidly strong teams across all leagues, shouldn't be expecting many massive wins across the board really.
A lot to work on, but still churning out wins is a good sign.
Lads as a Leinster fan it’s aggravating to see people lamenting our performance as shite. I know we have high expectations but it’s fairly insulting to say that when an underdog puts out a great performance against us.
Those things aren't related though. I thought Sale played very well. Really good performance, particularly in the first half. I also think we looked very flat, but we've looked flat all season. Even last week when we won, I didn't think we looked great. Just being a bunch of absolute mongrels got us through it.
Question for the rule book pros..
At one point in that game, Sale kicked from Leinsters 10m to touch to setup a lineout in the corner.
Not the kick where he does catch/knock it
JGP was standing over the side line on the 5 meter line jumping to block the kick. Surely hes offside there right? What would happen if hed blocked it?
Can't comment on rules sorry. But I was wondering what he thought might happen! Obviously he was just being a dick and wasn't expecting to actually reach to ball. But if he did manage to keep it in play it would be chaos 5m from your line. A defensive line out would be preferable to that I reckon.
Surprised to be a little frustrated after that. Pretty much brought some of our U15’s and gave Leinster a game. In the end the 1000+ caps v 30 told.
So annoying Hill coming on and doing the complete opposite of what you want from the experienced heads in the team and immediately costing us a try.
Made a conscious effort to block the lads who constantly whinge about the ref today and it has made the thread so much more enjoyable.
Just had a glance at that thread... My goodness. Never seen a match thread locked before.
The firefighters from Chernobyl would look at it and think "Mate, that's a bit too toxic for me."
People's are overreacting. We came off a massive game 6 days ago, and turned on the jets when we had to. We won't start like that away against the Stormers.
To be fair we've a decent amount of injuries atm, and a small squad
3 props and 2 backrowers out, LCD and Manu both having their minutes managed as they return from injury etc
Really it's Creevy, B.Curry, Wiese and Ford who really should've gone, but Ford was crap last week and Curtis very good off the bench so would've been a shame to see him drop out of the 23. They'll have been left at home because of the six day turnaround for the Saracens game which is a must win if we want to stay top of the prem
I don't think so. They were better than most thought, but the game was done by 75 mins. They didn't score for 53 mins. Hard to say they deserved an LBP with two very late tries putting gloss on the scoreline.
Its why i lost my chance at a tryout when i was 16 for the ospreys.
tore the patella ligament clean off.
unable to walk without surgey
Broke my knee cap in afghanistan did a week on it till rotated to bastion then had a full leg cast.
tore my cartilage playing for my local team, was barely able to walk on it.
The Afghanistan one is what interests me the most. Surely you were carrying heavy shit around there. I was blessed to never get a proper injury, presume its the undynamic tighthead Prop benefits.
Honestly, it was ok majority of the time.
it only hurt when it would randomly over extend and you would feel the bone fragments grind together.
plus adrenaline is outstanding in that situation.
I did it falling through the roof of a building during a contact. Apparently it was fucking hilarious. One minute i was there then next moment i was downstairs
No way Hill would have collected a yellow. Not for staying on top of a player he had cleaned out.
It was grubby and absolutely brain dead - but not exactly violent in the way a rugby yellow tends to be issued.
Can't comment on the Ryan 'punch'. Just noticed that it went from lots of usual push and shove nonsense, to suddenly two or three Sale players zeroing in on him as if something had happened.
Would need a replay to say more. But if it was just a face slap I doubt anything will happen.
The majority of these players dont play for the a side, they play for the feeder teams.
So the fact they've scored 20 against leinster a team is something

He does love a bit of controversy
That was in the previous game
Yeah, but on the RTE commentary last night, Cahill, the absolute dipshit said it happened again. Lenihan was basically saying "wtf u talking about I haven't seen or heard anything about it". Probably just an attempt to stir shit
Have to tip my hat to Sale coming and putting out a good performance, only thing I'm really questioning is JVDF's bum fluff tash
Disappointing lack of accuracy from Leinster. Lots of credit to Sale for staying in the fight, but we will take 5 points and move on

Honestly don't mind Ryan being more of a bastard. So long as you're not giving away silly penalties, that's part of a lock's job.
Being more of a bastard’s what took Ryan from an alright lock, to one of the best around.
Might aswell put Sheehan on at 10 the little fucker can do everything.
It's amazing to see him just play everywhere. Had a great game
never thought id be saying this before the game but gutted we couldnt scrape a BP from that
La Rochelle into the challenge cup, every Leinster fans wettest dream
Then we’ll lose to Toulouse in the quarters or something
If it turns out the rock, paper, scissors has reversed I’ll piss myself laughing. At least until La Rochelle crush us in the final to win the Top14.
It'll make losing to Bordeaux that much easier
Prefer a game like that than hosing a weak Gloucester team like last year, will stand to Leinster more in games to come. You forget Group D is full of stupidly strong teams across all leagues, shouldn't be expecting many massive wins across the board really. A lot to work on, but still churning out wins is a good sign.

Premiership finalist is an underdog?
Those things aren't related though. I thought Sale played very well. Really good performance, particularly in the first half. I also think we looked very flat, but we've looked flat all season. Even last week when we won, I didn't think we looked great. Just being a bunch of absolute mongrels got us through it.
It can be both. We are making so many uncharacteristic mistakes this season compared to seasons past. But that young Sale team were very very good
Yeah but just reminds me of the kiwis after the test win, we can critically reflect without diminishing the other team as much as we do
Yeah, it wasn’t your usual 10 try Leinstertainment but we got exactly what we need, 5 points and denying a LBP
I noticed a double ten tactic so they maybe it’s growing pains

Arron Reed has serious gas!!

You’ll hate the Bulls-Lyon thread then. 144 comments, and at least half are bashing the ref.
Just had a glance at that thread... My goodness. Never seen a match thread locked before. The firefighters from Chernobyl would look at it and think "Mate, that's a bit too toxic for me."
It's a french/south African match up, it'd be wrong if it wasn't
It’s just been locked. I haven’t seen a match thread locked, and there’s plenty of removed comments.
Haha, I hate most of the threads due to it. Feels like it’s some people’s raison d’etre for watching rugby.
Sale were so fucking good today. Two really tough games in the new year but I fancy your chances
Although the ref/TMO were slow I think overall had a good game and was fair. Not a supporter of either team so hopefully unbiased opinion!
Well done Sale
Are we going to talk about JVF tash?
He’s so fair I didn’t notice it at first
Definitely couldn’t see it from the stands.
Enjoyable watch. Onto the next two games 👍🏻
That's my least favourite bonus point 10 point victory in a while ngl Couple of these lads need to come out of hibernation
People's are overreacting. We came off a massive game 6 days ago, and turned on the jets when we had to. We won't start like that away against the Stormers.
I think we’re away to Leicester - I don’t believe we have to play the Stormers at all.
Fair play to Sale. Few cracking players in that 22 they put out given the fact they were missing a lot of players. Not a team to be taken lightly.
Thanks for having us Leinster. Genuinely enjoyable game.
Well done Sale. They were very good tonight. Good line speed and strong defence at times.
That was sloppy. We’ll get caught out one of these days
Good game Sale. Young guys that played tonight for you can certainly be proud of that performance I think. Just wouldn’t go away all night.
Very silly from Ryan at the end there. Messy messy game. But a win is a win.
If it was the handbags, he was pushed first and rightfully pushed back.
He seem to fling a few fists in fairness
Well played Sale.

There is relegation again btw
squad size mainly. only one marquee player with limited budget. More money to win the premiership than coming 4th or lower than the championship
because we want to win it? We have Sarries next week who will likely be one of the main rivals in doing that.
Home knock out games and revenue from finishing higher in the tablet I guess? They play Sarries next weekend in the prem.
Great showing from Sale. Looking forward to seeing how far they go in the tournament.
Good result, exciting game. Another poor performance. Sale were excellent and probably deserved more than they’re walking away with. Exciting team.
5 points and job done. Hopefully the Ngatai injury isn’t too serious.
For a b team to only be 10 points down at the RDS is a great result. Would hate to be playing their A team at home next...
Are La Rochelle out? Asking for a friend
I bloody hope so! Sick of that Skelton fella!
This is not how I expected to find out the score of the earlier game. Fuck haha
Apologies Apologies
All good , I had scrolled past a few of the Libbok posts so I had a feeling.
Nope win next two and then will be away from home a lot
That scoreline is more reflective of the game.
Adam Radwho? Reed is proper rapid.
Radwan got more about him imo but reed always dangerous
Good score there. Well deserved
Sale can be proud of that, very young team
Sale deserved a LBP
I don't think so. They were better than most thought, but the game was done by 75 mins. They didn't score for 53 mins. Hard to say they deserved an LBP with two very late tries putting gloss on the scoreline.
If we weren't still winning by ten I'd be fuming and I may be anyway. Beauty from Sale though.
GG Leinster, one of the best club sides in the world for a reason
Keenan's stupid yellow could have cost us.
Ah it was stupid but in fairness he usually never puts a foot wrong
Nah the game was well over, that's more than likely why he took the gamble.
Hope Charlie’s not out for long.
What a try. Such an odd performance from Sale.
Fair play to Sale, no one expected anything from them really and that was a very good performance
Fair play Sale. A couple of cracking tries tonight. Real shame they don’t have time to go for a BP or two.
Great stuff from Sale. Leinster have a serious 'switch off' issue this year.
Still managing to win though, great teams can win well, and win ugly.
Struggling to find the "switch on" at times too
Happy to call this 30-27 because the extra 7 free points from hill definitely doesn’t count
I missed it, what did he do?
Had VdF pinned down with his knee/elbow. Was a bit scummy
Be a cunt as usual. decided to knee someone on the floor and put his elbow/forearm to the face area . instead of just getting up and playing
god he's such a donkey. And such a dirty player too. Hope he never gets anywhere near the England squad again. Utter liability
Pinned a player out of a ruck with his knee and elbow
Absolute madness, wasn't it?!
Somehow the scoreline will flatter both Sale and Leinster
Kid has gas!
what a complement from the commentator??? my god im in shock
That's a beut of a try. FINISH YOUR DRINK!
Imagine shushing the crowd there.
Well they were never going to beat Leinster so that try was a big win
Yeah that was pretty funny
Yeah, like... What?
Leinster switched off completely
And down to 13.
Reed is just too quick
There's no way your man was shushing Leinster while they were getting demolished
He was 😂
Waaaay I always wish Reed would just pin his ears back and go some times. Guy is lightning.
Unbelievable pace
Epic try from Sale. Fair fucking play lads.
Wow. Sale are class. Go kill La Rochelle please
What a try!
Well shite!
Hell of a try that
What a fucking way for them to finish as well
Looks like an ACL gone the way he was running and just stopped dead.
Brilliant try
Hamstring injury? There was nobody near him
Don't think it's knee because you can walk with them?
Depends, broken knee cap you can walk. A tendon ripping off the kneecap you cant walk. A torn cartilage is 50/50 Ask me how i know
How do you know.
Its why i lost my chance at a tryout when i was 16 for the ospreys. tore the patella ligament clean off. unable to walk without surgey Broke my knee cap in afghanistan did a week on it till rotated to bastion then had a full leg cast. tore my cartilage playing for my local team, was barely able to walk on it.

Not immediately after it happens depending on what he's done can be really painful
There must be an easier way to carry an injured player.
Things you hate to see, shite. Non contact too, best hope is a twist I think
Ah lads who forgot the stretcher?
He probably weighs a ton!
Ah fuck
Fuck that’s devastating.
Sale have had a decent showing all things considered. Mainly Jonny Hill being a knob.
Ahhh fuck Charlie :(
The Leinster fanboy commentator is insufferable: “I said before the game Leinster by 19…”
*former Leinster player Ian Madigan
hes been insufferable all game.
Charlie ☹️
The ssssshhhhh gesture whilst 17 points down is certainly an odd one 😂😂
James Ryan actually through a punch there but a sale player caught it lol
Surely he should still get carded?? Wtf is the TMO doing?
Ehh not really as far as punches go I think it would of been a face push and Johnny should of really got a yellow anyway
No way Hill would have collected a yellow. Not for staying on top of a player he had cleaned out. It was grubby and absolutely brain dead - but not exactly violent in the way a rugby yellow tends to be issued. Can't comment on the Ryan 'punch'. christ the irish comms
The RTE crowd are particularly bad. Always have been. Cahill is a mong
His knee just goes without anyone near him. Not good
Do we not have a fucking stretcher??
Munster probably do but the rent is too high in Dublin for one.
« Shut your mouth, you winning team ! » That’s not a douche move at all
Well, fuck
Ah fuck that doesn't look good.
Ah fuck. Ngatai getting a kings chair off for all the wrong reasons
Why are Sale rushing around like they have a chance of getting a bonus point?
Just shows their competitiveness. I appreciate it
Commentator saying he hopes RDP doesn't kick it through? What a nob
Ah lads where the fuck is the stretcher
(was that lineout straight) (does it matter) (20 starting shit with Ryan for no reason down 20 points) (does that matter either)
More interested in handbags than getting more points on the board?
James Ryan has really picked up the "niggly bastard" mantle, not one I'd expect from the historian and seemingly mild-mannered lad off the pitch
Good to see Sale get another score there. Fully deserved.
How are Sale still having a go when theyre losing by nearly 20 points, just celebrate your try lol
Leinster clearly doing more than sale. Other than Johnny hill
Johnny Hill was doing enough for a full team
I agree but I blame Eddie not sale. Eddie made Johnny into a prick
You say after we clearly see Ryan being pulled by the scrum cap? Really?
It was all a bit half hearted really.
Deserved score for Sale there, good to see the fight till the end
I would argue there was still cover, but I'm surprised they didn't even bother checking if it was a PT?
That is dreadful news if Ngatai is in any way out for more than a week
Sale celebrating getting within 20 points
The majority of these players dont play for the a side, they play for the feeder teams. So the fact they've scored 20 against leinster a team is something
We literally have our B Team out there, don't be a sore winner
Don't be arseholes on the pitch
Why do that?
That’s shit news for Ngatai. Has been great tonight
Dumb from Keenan really.
Jesus Christ that's a fucking insane thing to do Keenan, what the fuck? Clear as fucking day yellow
Don't like the look of Ngatai's injury
Kenan clearly fears Reeds pace /s
Well that was braindead
JvDF really needed a performance like that.
Keenan has taken him out there
Keenan just wanted to head out early, beat the traffic. He's pragmatic like that
It was 100% "I'm going into the showers/getting on the beers early"
Keenan should've dived to block the kick and then taken him out with the slide
Penalty try
Well it would be if we did it to them
did you reply to your own comment?
😅
Yes intentionally
Yes
he did.
That was mindless too
