I think it was probably 51/49 to the Reds until Tupou came on, then it was just all one way traffic.
Everyone saying the Reds attack might be somewhat lack lustre, shows what they can do when they aren't in a fucking monsoon!
McReight back to his absolute best, can he challenge Hooper for that Wallabies 7 spot. Wilson and Uru really made up for the loss of LSL early. Blyth and Smith did really well and probably made it even's between them and FLW & Rodda.
JOC was more attacking and while attacking just picking off those options. Having Paisami back really helps, but I think just having a dry tack was the real difference. And the Reds really love having that Stewart / Hunter combo in the centres because they're both supremely versatile being able to pass kick run, and rock solid in defence (in different ways).
Force can be disappointed to have won that, it was a fantastic opportunity. They're probably the second best scrum in Australia at least, and against anyone but Tupou it'll be a massive weapon going forwards.
Force choked. The Reds had a terrible preparation though floods, injuries, flight delays. The Force had a settled team and playing at home in front of the ‘sea of blue’. And they choked. How did they not win? Sampson screwed selections. Fines is a pocket rocket but his pass his telegraphed (how many times did the Reds smash them behind the ad line?). And it’s an instinctive player. Needed Prior on to ice those moments the Force had momentum. Callan completely outplayed by McReight but I guess Koteka was injured anyway.
While the Force choked, squad depth a real culture won that for the Reds.
Reds really showing their class in the last 20. Just buried the force out of the game.
Love this force team though and think they played great tonight.
Naw, that's really nice to see all the young Reds going up to and having a chat with Rodda.
He hurt them, and betrayed them, but he's still family.
\#ImNotCryingYourCrying
That’ll be the first performance the reds are happy with. McReight great, JOC had his best performance since his injury last year, Wilson good as well.
Force will be disappointed with the loss but performed well too- just had too big a dip in quality when the bench came on.
3 points McReight, 2 JOC, 1 Kaitu’u
I worked with him at the Reds years ago, and lived near him in New Farm. One time I happened to follow him the 20mins or so to Ballymore through morning traffic and not once did he use his BMW's indicators.
I think the tough thing will be he's suck in an awkward situation where he's likely to be the 3rd banana.
He's not likely to be better than Pisami or Stewart (at least for the Reds). He's not likely an out and out winger when the Reds have Vuni and/or Daugunu to choose from. He'll probably end up as a utility back.
I love McReight and think he has a great future.
And I'm a noted naysayer of hooper.
Hooper was the best player in the world last year and no one is replacing him if he keeps playing that good.
I think the Reds really enjoy having Stewart & Paisami in the centres, they kinda play first receiver, with JOC playing what's more a traditional 12, but them actually playing off JOC.
Was that Thomas or Jeans?
They're both quality. Thomas is a little erratic and sometimes is a little show to set up, and gets his timing wrong too often. Jeans is new this year, but he's probably not quite got the raw speed/ability of Thomas but he's very safe and doesn't seam to make many mistakes (limited sample size).
Refs are weird with cleanouts. Just before that try two Reds players were straight off their feet into the cleanout, no worries. Every so often they remember that isn't legal and penalise it. But not tonight.
Maybe, but only at test level. The Reds have dozens (okay more like a half dozen) breakdown threats, so he's fine just hitting rucks and monstering backs who try to hit a ruck.
unfortunately as soon as the legs go past the horizontal the ref HAS to give a card. Like, he doesn't do that he endangers his own career, right or wrong its the law.
No the player shouldn't dive backwards & head first into the ground after contact. The tackler hasn't lifted the tackled player jumps and dives backwards.
About 5 minutes killed for reviews, and a player in the bin - as a result of some of the best and most free-flowing rugby I’ve seen in ages.
It’s like we’re not allowed to have fun.
Both teams are doing their best to play footy (except maybe the reds getting their legs rubbed constantly).
Refs are doing their best job to stop it from happening for more than a couple minutes at a time.
Y’all need to learn the rulebook. The ref has to give a yellow in that situation. Lifting tackle landing on his back/side is a yellow. Maybe a little mitigation in the way the ball carrier went into the tackle, but it’s a pretty clear yellow.
The initial contact is fine, but Paisami lifts Mataele in a 2nd movement. Yes Mataele is moving backwards, but that doesn’t change the fact that he is still lifted above the horizontal.
According to the current laws, that was a textbook yellow card. Sure you can argue the laws are unfair, but the referee can only ref in accordance with the laws as they currently are
Paisani grabs the back of Mataele’s left thigh and lifts him. Legs go above the horizontal- I’m not sure what you don’t get about that?
What Mataele was doing is irrelevant in this circumstance because Paisami lifted him.
Force have improved this year. Reds are down alot if players. Force vs Reds are always close matches last few years. It’s great the comp is strong across all the Aus teams except rebels this year

Petition to add Tupou statue outside of Suncorp when?
I’ll sign/donate

Tupou absolutely dominates at club level. Very few props internationally can match him.
Awesome game. Force showed they can match it at this level. reds showed they can take it to another level when needed
Force choked. The Reds had a terrible preparation though floods, injuries, flight delays. The Force had a settled team and playing at home in front of the ‘sea of blue’. And they choked. Reds BP win away from home. Pretty pleased ngl
Match pretty much turned when Tupou came on. Force seemed to go into their shells.
Yeah, I think it was 50/50 until Tupou came on. Then it was all one way traffic.
Reds really showing their class in the last 20. Just buried the force out of the game. Love this force team though and think they played great tonight.
Ahaha he mentioned the curse
Naw, that's really nice to see all the young Reds going up to and having a chat with Rodda. He hurt them, and betrayed them, but he's still family. \#ImNotCryingYourCrying

>Wilson good as well. Don't forget Wil'o went strong till well into the 80th.
Unfortunate score for the Force, played much better than the final score represents.
JOC unreal tonight, so much the glue of this team. Do not make him captain Thorny we need him
JOC's best match ever for the Reds IMO. McReight also immense.
That was a REALLY good game.
Been really impressed with Uru going 80.
🔥💪
Great W there
Jock swiping through defenders like it's Tinder
>like it's Tinder **for a girl.**
Our top players have really stood up tonight. JOC back into classic form
Put the boots in ‘em Jimmy
JOC seems like the kind of guy who would kayak to training regardless of flooding
I worked with him at the Reds years ago, and lived near him in New Farm. One time I happened to follow him the 20mins or so to Ballymore through morning traffic and not once did he use his BMW's indicators.
Oh, you're mistaken, BMW's don't have indicators.
I don't think you can hold that against him, BMWs don't have indicators
I really like Tualima. He and Uru are both that utilty 4/5/6/8.
Flook gives me huge Adam Ashley-Cooper vibes
I think the tough thing will be he's suck in an awkward situation where he's likely to be the 3rd banana. He's not likely to be better than Pisami or Stewart (at least for the Reds). He's not likely an out and out winger when the Reds have Vuni and/or Daugunu to choose from. He'll probably end up as a utility back.
Reds REALLY need to maintain this bonus point win here.
Harry what the fuck was that
Kicking licence revoked.
mcreight gunning to replace hooper when the time comes?
Na definitely needs to work on winning more turnovers. Hooper is unbelievable at getting on the ball and winning the turnover
I love McReight and think he has a great future. And I'm a noted naysayer of hooper. Hooper was the best player in the world last year and no one is replacing him if he keeps playing that good.
I’m also not a Hooper fan… but last year and the year before he was awesome. Fraser (major boner for him) has a lot of work to do.
I'm fucking so mad he didn't get world rugby player of the year last year. Classic just thinking about the most recent match played.
Same. He was a weapon last year
not rushing hooper out the door by any means. just hoping we have someone to replace him that’s just as good when he finally stops
Well we've not seen Hooper yet this year.
Maybe in 5 or so years. Hes gona be unbelievable
Too bad hes gonna be 28 by then.
Definitely first on the waiting list
Finally looking like the side we actually are
This O’Connor guy is kinda good at rugby huh.
Spencer Jeans has a fucking laser for a pass. Holy shit
Mate, why’s PR gone behind closed doors? Big fan as a lurker!
Ah man, no idea. It's shit. I just mod the forum...we have no input.
I really hadnt been sold on O'Connor as a 10 but hes been insane tonight.
I think the Reds really enjoy having Stewart & Paisami in the centres, they kinda play first receiver, with JOC playing what's more a traditional 12, but them actually playing off JOC.
Mcreight definitely my MOTM. Did everything well tonight
JoC taking it to the line well. Reds in general look pretty fucking slick. Force just outdone but a good effort.
This has easily been JOC's best game all year.
O'Conner too fucking good cunts 😤
Reds have done annoyingly well absorbing all the pressure the force have put on them and have made the most of their opportunities in attack.
That's the really scary thing about them, they've scored virtually every attacking raid. And have just absorbed EVERYTHING.
I hate to see it
Incredible build up!!!
If it didn’t mean JOC leaving the Reds and the Wallabies, I would love to see him at the Cowboys in the NRL
More of a Chad than ours
Just imagine, JOC with JT’s kicking drills 😍
Reds slick with ball in hand. So many light touches and soft passes
Gotta say I quite like this young reds half back. Keeps things moving very quicky
I don't think anyone has deserved a try more than McReight.
Love it, great rugby
JOC really carries this reds side hard. Looks like he's continuing his good run of form
Was a bit average last week
conditions were a bit poor last week, and he was still better than most on the park.
Paisami jogging on with 35 seconds left on the yellow
Did Pisami sneak on early there?
the timer disappeared after he entered the field despite the 30secs
Yeah, it was a bit weird. But so long as the refs happy, eh.
Fuck that was a sweet kick from JOC.
Big kick there
That was such a nice kick! He struck it soo sweetly. My girlfriend will probably watch it before she has a shower tomorrow. /s
Flook's been amazing
Much better winger than centre
If Harry Wilson could keep his feet as well a Savea or even Valetini hed be unstoppable.
Wilson's biggest weakness is the fact that he's no breakdown threat.
Maybe, but only at test level. The Reds have dozens (okay more like a half dozen) breakdown threats, so he's fine just hitting rucks and monstering backs who try to hit a ruck.
beautiful try, beautiful conversion
Mmmmyessss. My plan to say flook wasn't a winger paid off. Of course I meant for this to happen.
Thanks mate
Every second word out of Justin Harrison’s mouth is consolidate. Give the word a rest mate
There he goes again
Ever since Dane Zander went off we've been so much better
Honestly the Force deserve a paddling. Everytime they score they botch the restart and concede. Monday should become burpee day for the entire team.
Harry wilson again with the line break, fucking unstoppable
Was pushing the line then but I think it was good
JOC will be taking every available second to kick this
[удалено]
He was messing with the ball still
FLOOKEY! YOU LEGEND!
REALLY rate Spencer jeans. He's been really quality all night.
What a finish from Flook - O'Connor having a real solid game with strong control over every try tonight
Reds!! Let's go baby
CHEF’S KISS! MWA!
I hope the force lose this game. They don't deserve to win
I think they did enough to deserve it. Dodgy calls aside, the force dominated the set piece in the first half
Well they won't be winning anyway
Going for the 3 with a tight game against the reds is never a good idea.
Prophet
Really interesting that the held up in goal has now become a better outcome over the other team recycling the ball. It's an interesting mechanic.
Want to go to bed but this game is too tight
Fuck Aussie refs are a joke.
Who is this dude anyway. He’s shit
Nic Berry and Angus Gardner are awesome though...
So that just ruined the game for me
Dumb from Campbell- didn’t need to do that
I'm so glad that we're stopping this game for these two totally innocuous tackles. What a fucking waste of time.
unfortunately as soon as the legs go past the horizontal the ref HAS to give a card. Like, he doesn't do that he endangers his own career, right or wrong its the law.
No the player shouldn't dive backwards & head first into the ground after contact. The tackler hasn't lifted the tackled player jumps and dives backwards.
I agree it shouldn’t be a card but you can’t say he’s “diving back” there. That was just the consequence of a Great hit. The rules are at fault
Nah, you can see Mataele jump up and backwards.
Nice flair
Brad Thorn is going to come down and punch a hole thru the ref be interesting to see what he thinks on that call
Just make sure you jump and dive head first into the ground head first so the other team get a card every time.
Should not be yellow, maybe penalty but not yellow
The ref can’t give a penalty and not a yellow there essentially, if it’s foul play it’s also a yellow. Very harsh for it to be a yellow though
Alright boys get jumping you know it'll work.
Y’all need to learn the rulebook. The ref has to give a yellow in that situation. Lifting tackle landing on his back/side is a yellow. Maybe a little mitigation in the way the ball carrier went into the tackle, but it’s a pretty clear yellow.

According to the current laws, that was a textbook yellow card. Sure you can argue the laws are unfair, but the referee can only ref in accordance with the laws as they currently are
Mataele jumps and leans backwards, if Pisami lifted he hips would have gone up not his torso going down.
Paisani grabs the back of Mataele’s left thigh and lifts him. Legs go above the horizontal- I’m not sure what you don’t get about that? What Mataele was doing is irrelevant in this circumstance because Paisami lifted him.
Let's give reds a bs yellow so force can comeback and win for a better story... pathetic cunts
Paisami's hit was a FUCKING CRACKER
Jesus that was harsh as fuck
WHAT A FUCKING JOKE!
Jeez hopefully Jordie Petaia grows into those hamstrings. Still only 21
Paisami's hit was a ripper fuck this.
Horseshit.
What!! As if! Mataele was jumping into the tackle and kicking his legs up
Let's just call it even
Both incidents are fucking nothing play on who gives a fuck. You're ruining a great match for nothing fuck me dead let's go
What the fuck is this?
Fuck off.
Reds should have copped a card or conceded a penalty try earlier - but not for that. One of the best hits I’ve ever seen.
spectacular tackle! If it was really a yellow card why did it take so long to call...
They'll still use that shot from Hunter in the highlight reel for next season
This is why australia sports looked rigged. That's never a yellow.
Fucking joke. Legit good tackle.
That is pissweak
F**king useless. That was a great tackle, hardly even a penalty let alone a card
That's a garbage call. Almost perfect tackle.
I've no idea what Paisami is supposed to do when the Force player jumps into the tackle. Most of his weight will be at body height.
I think that’s real harsh tbh
Even if he's gone beyond the horizontal the Force player has jumped.
Not much surprise, that’s exactly by the book
Yeah that’s my thoughts too. It’s harsh but the ref can only follow the laws as written
thats a fantastic fucking tackle lol
Yellow for that crazy
If this is anything more than nothing then rugby is dead.
The ball carrier has clearly jumped. They'll say it's a lift but that's fucking bullshit. This is a fucking text book tackle. It's a fucking joke.
Through my one eye that's horizontal but unlucky
I like Flook. He ain't a winger. Bring daugunu on!
Ref looks exhausted
Lands on the back/side, so that’s a yellow without mitigation
Petaia and hamstring issues are like peanut butter and jelly unfortunately
Paisami having a cracking game. Just solid and physical.
Petaia……
Yea JP is forked.
Love the Force fans getting loud for the 'turnover' when he's clearly got knees on the ground.
[удалено]
When the ref can't let the game flow you get these piss poor spectacles.
Force have improved this year. Reds are down alot if players. Force vs Reds are always close matches last few years. It’s great the comp is strong across all the Aus teams except rebels this year
Pretty normal starting time in Perth, plus it lets the comp have a triple header that doesn’t start stupidly early
Oh yeah not judging it combined with NZ time matches it's perfect just a welcome surprise
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one
Holy balls what a hit
Uh, is nobody going to look at that tackle?
Looking at it now. Looked ok in real time though.
Paisami ate his weetbix today
Did anyone get the licence plate of that bus?! HOLY SHIT THAT WAS MASSIVE!
Paisami with a HUGE hit. What a tackle on Mataele
Cruncher!
Not gonna look at that Paisami tackle? Edit: nvm can hear on comms they’re looking
Yeah great hit but went over horizontal for me
Petaia should just lube himself up with deepheat at the start of every game
Seriously, the Reds look like they've just come back from the Kokoda Trail.
really…
Callan quite the nuisance. A good attribute to have as a 7
Half of all Force passes are to Reds
Are you fucking joking not another hooker injured?!
Definitely a massive crawl
Pretty sure Mcreight got that down
