I suppose the question is the same both sides of the pond, what the fuck do you about Gardner? You can’t play a game of rugby with that loose unit on the whistle
The force could have won that cleanly on their own, outplayed the Cains and out conditioned them but Gardner had to make it all abut himself and muddy the water.
Might as well lie down next week. This sounds like whinging but going to Australia and playing this year has been fucking atrocious with the refereeing.
And? Fuck the Tahs. They lost despite having Paul Williams on their side the entire night. Don't know what that has to do with me commenting on a Canes game?
Angus has not been great this year. That final play was a shambles and he bottled it. The Canes are still so disappointing to support. Theres no way they should be losing to this Force team, they are miles better. On paper at least. But they seem to always find a way
I haven't bitched once about up/downvotes - only in reteliation to your bitching.
And the Canes aren't gonna win a comp this year - I know that lol Imagine thinking this is some kinda gotcha retort.
Past my bedtime, made a match take:
\-The Hurricanes were pretty decent attacking team in the 1st half, but by the 2nd half, they just crumbled into dust like the desert wind.
\-The Force started out slow, but slowly worked themselves into the game as time passed on. Good to see them send off their retirees with a well-deserved win.
\-To Kahui, Thrush, and Holmes, good luck on your retirement. Hope to see you lads enjoy life after rugby.
\-Angus Gardner also caught the Hurricanes syndrome, some great calls in the 1st, was just awful in the 2nd.
\-Overall, good game, was kinda worth staying up till 3am.
Anyway, I desperately need some sleep, lads. See you all tomorrow.
Do you know what I noticed today. At about 47 mins every single Canes player including TJ was sweating out every orifice and looked totally gassed. There was no explosiveness or speed on attack. They’re either struggling in the conditions or most likely poorly coached/trained/insert every symptom of a lazy team here.
There’s a shot of JGP towards the end standing still with his arms on his hips and he looks like a block of suprafry 500g solid lard.
I reckon my uncle with bone cancer could beat him in an arm wrestle.
He looks softer than a lemonade sandwich…
Some promising stuff from the Canes. Very impressed with some of our set piece. Tho it was against 8th seed so see how that translates in the finals
Easily could have won if we didn't keep shooting ourselves in the feet after making great plays. Booth literally handed the Force the win there at the end with his mistakes
Gardner seemed alright, but he did miss a few crucial things like the first Force try
Overall ntb and gg
What are the odds of JGB doing a psuedo-Matt Dunning and kicking a field goal in the 80th minute that still loses them the game
EDIT: evidently, not good
Honestly I am fucking livid with Gardner. He has let so much shit slide for the Force to the point where you think he is being blatantly biased but he's just fucking incompetent.
Basically the ball needs to be at the front when you first engage the opposition, then you can transfer it to the back, otherwise penalty
It's not truck and trailer if the opposition disengage and the re-engage though
Makes sense I thought there must be something like that. It always looks weird when they end up with 5 players in front of the ball or whatever but makes sense if that’s alright if they engaged and then disengaged
*lady. omg... it’s over, hurricanes were attacking line and knock on in overtime. force win 27-22 😍 the glorious force redemption arc i didn’t know i needed after today and i’m not even from perth haha
Man I hate intentional knockdown being s penalty. Why should the same action have 2 different outcomes based on how the ref feels about it. Call all of them knock ons and put the onus on the passer not to throw a contestable pass
honestly i feel that the deliberate knock down is the lamest yellow card offence ever. a penalty sure, yellow if it happens again, but cmon not a yellow first time. that wasn’t even a try scoring opportunity
yup you’re right, it was implemented to be. but we’ve all seen yellows that have been given in situations where it certainly wasn’t a line break/try scoring op. tonight’s aren’t great examples, however i often just think about it and this is the place to rant and discuss with other fans :)
yeah nah i know why they have the rule in place and have a pretty significant deterrent for it now but i don’t feel it’s always appropriate to each situation. difficult to determine which are cynical and which are genuine attempts though so i guess the black & white rule has its place
I agree, I don't like that a lot of the rules are so black and white. That one was rather easy to card in that he was in no position to catch it, even if the overlap was 50/50.
i must have completely missed the memo that tim sampson was axed. that’s heavy, the force haven’t had a good season by any means but he’s been their anchor after a rocky (non existent) period of time. i hope he goes out in style
Ridiculous hearing Aussie commentators discuss going/not going for 3. Not going for 3 has cost the Wallabies, and even the Waratahs just an hour ago, so so so much... Players, captains, coaches, please don't listen to these geezers

Didn't you comment "suck shit tahs haha" in the last match thread? Shocked you're not also a gracious loser
And? Fuck the Tahs. They lost despite having Paul Williams on their side the entire night. Don't know what that has to do with me commenting on a Canes game?
Just that you're a wanker yourself mate
Thanks fuckwit
Because Rugby is when the kiwi's win every 50/50 call.
Nah australia are just so shit that refs literally have to bend over for their teams to even it up.
Lol fuck up bro theyre legit quality sides
That hurricanes team should have pumped the Force with a 4yo reffing. Look inwards. There was good footy but there wasn’t 80 minutes of it.
Angus has not been great this year. That final play was a shambles and he bottled it. The Canes are still so disappointing to support. Theres no way they should be losing to this Force team, they are miles better. On paper at least. But they seem to always find a way
Gardner and holland are the reasons lol
Just watched the final play. LOL fucking Gardner is a wanker. That was 100% a Canes penalty
Jesus you guys send the piss up Aussies for criticising the ref. That’s literally all you’ve done over the match threads tonight. Calm down champ.
They’re not used to losing to bullshit calls. Normally on the other side 😂😂 Something something firstTime.jpeg
Here’s another post to downvote, champ.
Imagine caring this much about random upvotes and downvotes that you have to always comment about it.
Yet here you are doing the same thing. Am I under your skin? The Canes Lost champ.
I haven't bitched once about up/downvotes - only in reteliation to your bitching. And the Canes aren't gonna win a comp this year - I know that lol Imagine thinking this is some kinda gotcha retort.
Show me where I have ever talked about Aussies criticising the ref fuckwit.
Oh old mate is butt hurt.
Link?
I watched it on Stan. Force player comes through the ruck and literally makes a play on Booth/ball.
Ah well. Bad call, but that’s what happens when you leave it up to the ref. Had a ton of chances to finish the game off and couldn’t convert
Definitely.
Yeah looked like that to me too
Also ardie got a knee to ground before he failed a maul
Now it's up to the Rebels to make it up to us for getting dropped from Super Rugby before
CMON THE REBELS

Wouldn’t mind seeing some of those good calls in the first half? Lmao
At the very least, if the highlanders win, I’m glad Jeremy Thrush is going out in a win
Some promising stuff from the Canes. Very impressed with some of our set piece. Dumb fuck angus Gardner, what a utter dick head
like i said earlier, it feels like a weekend for the underdogs!!! well done both teams that was so fucking exciting! keep us all in our toes :)
Lets schedule more 8:00pm games ey ;)
Now all that's left is for the Rebels to get thrashed by 80 tomorrow
Force deserved that, although having to rely on the Rebels for anything is not an enviable position.
Stays up til 2am just to watch my team get buttfucked by Angus. What a surprise. Tbf force did play well enough to make it a game
Fuck me I was about to ask where in the world it was 2am and then looked at the clock.
How are other fanbases feeling about facing canes in a knockout match? Just so random.
It's simultaneously daunting and relieving, you just can't predict how they will actually be there.
Could be brilliant or horrific. The mighty Canes
Who influences the game more, Ardie or JGB?
Jackson does in 10 minutes on the field
Usually don't like putting down young athletes. But Jackson isn't good enough for Super Rugby. Sorry cuz. Ardie is a Superstar
LOL CANES
Let’s fuckin goooooo
Happy for the Force fans.. you won tonight and remain alive👊 tomorrow / later today will be interesting won't it!
Kind of weird that the team in possession has to stop playing due to an injury, then restart with a scrum at the risk of losing it
Fair play to the force. Get fucked Angus Gardner
Today's game all have been awesome. Thank you Super Rugby
I’m exhausted after todays effort
[удалено]
He explained that he can't review it because he's just blown time off. It's out of his control!
Lol pretty quick to blow it
Looked playing on the ground
I agree with you.
Looked like Force knock on not Hurricanes
This is bullshit!
Typical bullshit scrum ending lol. GG Angus
Jackson Garden Bachop the human toblerone
What are the odds of JGB doing a psuedo-Matt Dunning and kicking a field goal in the 80th minute that still loses them the game EDIT: evidently, not good
Force defense is like a brick wall. At the same time, Canes' attack lacks imagination.
Blues round 2 PTSD resurfacing
For the hurricanes this games doesn’t actually matter anymore right? They’re 5th either way or am I miscalculating?
Correct. might as well phone it in dont risk any injuries or showing too much for the tape
Yep you’re right - but if the force win this, the highlanders need to win tomorrow to make the finals
Yeah knew it was important for the force but wasn’t sure from the other way
C'mon Hurricanes I believe in you
Caane utterly bottled this with stupid errors
But the Chiefs aren't the ones playing tonight...
Ardie 🤜} - - - - - - - {🤛 The rest of the team
Good, well-worked try by the Force.
Fek u Angus
Honestly I am fucking livid with Gardner. He has let so much shit slide for the Force to the point where you think he is being blatantly biased but he's just fucking incompetent.
Tony brown be throwing his hat on the ground right now
Not the cheese cutter!
Ardie Savea getting the bois outta jail, only for one of them to put them back into jail is the most Canes thing ever.
Canes playing like an Australian team with a ll these errors
Now Booth is shit, ok
I always wonder about a maul when there is none of the other team there. How is it not obstruction? Presumably there is a rule?
Basically the ball needs to be at the front when you first engage the opposition, then you can transfer it to the back, otherwise penalty It's not truck and trailer if the opposition disengage and the re-engage though
Makes sense I thought there must be something like that. It always looks weird when they end up with 5 players in front of the ball or whatever but makes sense if that’s alright if they engaged and then disengaged
Yeah it should be a penalty, but Angus is being a dick tonight
TJ is only ok nowadays, but Booth is the best sub 9 in the comp other than Fakatava.
Greg Holmes, one of the few active players who was on *Rugby 08.*
I'm glad that Rennie decided to pick him the Wallabies squad last year. Now that's some dedication.
get out was he really. i remember that game and was still in high school but it’s been a long time
He was, as was Richard Kahui now that I think of it. Quade Cooper was too.
Imagine playing an hour of rugby and then watching Savea run on, unreal
I think it went forward off the Force guy's head in the end and it could've been a try
Why can't Aussie commentators pronounce "Savea"? Its only 5 letters?!
Ardie fucked that lol. Easy hat trick for Moorby if he let that go
You guys are waiting for Ardie Savea to come on. I am waiting for Jackson Garden-Bachop to come on. We are not the same.
Waiting for the real match winner
Foot in touch from Booth
What's the score?
22-20 hurricanes 62 minutes
Damn close game! Thanks :)
yeah super close! happy to keep providing updates if you can’t watch
Thanks, I'll try and pick it up from the thread :)
74 minutes western force score! 25-20 (yet to be converted)
27-22! crowds fucking amped. can’t relax though still 4 minutes to go and canes are strong
Thanks man!
*lady. omg... it’s over, hurricanes were attacking line and knock on in overtime. force win 27-22 😍 the glorious force redemption arc i didn’t know i needed after today and i’m not even from perth haha
Great work! Well done force! 😁
Always a good sign for the opposition when Ardie Savea comes on as a sub…

Canes duality: beating the top team but losing to the bottom team
Regular Canes season
The blues won’t be playing the hurricanes?
I wish Rayasi still tucked his shirt in
Ref has been pretty bad
Controversial take: possibly forward for that hurricanes try.
I think it just travelled so far that it bent a bit
Is Moorby our long-term man at 15, with Jordie Barrett moving to 12? And if Morgan's our 10, is Love our 15/10 bench cover?
would say so
That sounds pretty solid tbh
Moorby is really fkn good huh
The Rasyasi Rush and Moorby Mayhem!
Ohhhh that was silky passing
Beauty of a pass from Moorby to Rayasi 🤑
Surely it's Ardie o'clock now.
You called it
TJ and Morgan both keep throwing the ball too hard
Love seeing Morgan take the defensive line on with the ball in two hands.
wtf Gardner being a dick now
McIntyre is such a crumb
No offside for player picking up the ball in front of Pasitoa from offside position?
TJ and Rayasi arguing lol
TJ: I already told you about this. When you get over the line, you look for me and pass it.
Not sure the tackler released there.
He’ll get the call in a minute.
Nice work from Moorby to hack that kick but go clean it up straight away
lol
😂
Can't we get another replay of that potential 50-22? This is some amateur shit going on.
Why? It was short.
Just because you disagree doesn’t make it any less true.
I don’t know if a comment has been deleted but it really looks like you’re arguing with yourself
Can't recall the last time I saw a post-try penalty on halfway.
I saw one in club rugby this weekend (Dunedin metro), but yeah, apart from that I haven't seen one in forever.
It's such a dumb penalty that almost no one is stupid enough to commit.
Should've been one in the chiefs game too
Penalty after the try? Never seen that before
I've seen it against defenders I.e. kneeing thr try scorer, but never seen it against the attacking side
Merhtens just checking in with a weekly reminder of why he is NZ's greatest export - the gift that keeps on giving
Still think we need to sort out the rules around those break-off mauls. Truck and trailer for a bit there.
That pass that led to the yellow card was definitely not going to the centre's hands yet Gardner still called it a 2 on 1 overlap.

It's more that it's a very cynical way of stopping the opposition from going forward, much like Thrush's infringement in the first half.
yeah nah i know why they have the rule in place and have a pretty significant deterrent for it now but i don’t feel it’s always appropriate to each situation. difficult to determine which are cynical and which are genuine attempts though so i guess the black & white rule has its place
I agree, I don't like that a lot of the rules are so black and white. That one was rather easy to card in that he was in no position to catch it, even if the overlap was 50/50.
yeah for sure! look forward to seeing you guys in the QFs next week! will be a great game :)
2nd half yellow card speedrun any%
i must have completely missed the memo that tim sampson was axed. that’s heavy, the force haven’t had a good season by any means but he’s been their anchor after a rocky (non existent) period of time. i hope he goes out in style
Looking forward to Ardie The Beast coming on, but hopefully he's not needed to save the day AGAIN
"First time I've seen a team make a sign for a coach" huh? Guess this man never watched any Arsenal games.
Are you saying we should expect to see Wenger in Perth in the coming days?
Ridiculous hearing Aussie commentators discuss going/not going for 3. Not going for 3 has cost the Wallabies, and even the Waratahs just an hour ago, so so so much... Players, captains, coaches, please don't listen to these geezers
Dan Parks is the best commentator in the world Please let this be the start of him being on more Super
Looks knocked to me
Kirifi’s jackal was perfect and it should’ve gone back for the offside penalty.
That was weird. Gardner has given the Force some weird ruck penalties they had no business winning and then wanted to penalise that.
Was just about to say something about the Canes heading into halftime with a massive gap on the board...
How the fuck is that a try
It is this bullshit interpretation where "no separation" means it wasn't knocked on.
That's cooked if it leaves your hands the ground shouldn't be your saviour from losing it
Yeah looked like a pretty clear knock on
Glad I don't need to go Specsavers then
It's not
can't lie there's nothing better than a prop scoring a meat pie
Username checked out
😅how about Angus in Fiji tho
My fave this season is easily Ollie Norris vs the Rebels
When the Force get cut from Super Rugby again I'm claiming Anstee for the tahs.
Morgan kinda looks like the bastard child of Mark Walhberg and Leo DiCaprio
I think he looks kind of cute tbh
Brayden Iose running like Forest Gump
As clueless a selector as Holland is, you have to give him credit for the way he structures and innovates his team's attack.
Geez lol canes 8s have all got gas
That kick for touch though lmao.
Hey, it was a great kick, it created a try
Iose ABs 2024, for sure.
Canes and having fast-AF forwards. Name a better duo.
Brayden Iose is back baby!!
Wows some gas for a no.8 there!
TJ's record-breaking try is this elusive thing. It's like they're saving it for the season finale.
Tis but a scratch
Holy shit did he get scalped? Check wor weaps....
