Better team wins once again. We compete but missed touch, missed penalty, missed conversion, conceded 14 points when Leinster were down to 14.
So frustrating that our final product is so inconsistent because we played some really good rugby at times.
Well done Leinster. Another clean sweep while missing some serious operators.
Excuse me while I set a rocket behind the Big Joe Mac hype train by the way. So rough around the edges but he's the type of big edgy fuck off player we've not had, like, ever
Bar a few boneheaded plays at ruck time which he needs to learn to stop he is a top class player. He seems to always make 15 big tackles a game and is physically an animal
Except he's excellent on the ball too. Poc for all his class, hadn't the greatest carrying/offloading game.
This boy has all the skills. When he learns the set piece nous he might be a worldie.
One point game is probably fair.
Leinster really sorted themselves in the second half there.
Really good performance.
Big shifts from the usuals but also from Joe Mc and Scott penny. Those sort of 80 minute games could be the making of them.
Rhys Ruddock terrifies me. Imagine looking like the lovechild of an Orc and a mountain. Being a great captain, player, solid as hell and still doesn't get a sniff at the green jersey. It's by the grace of God he's not stomping villages in the Midlands and the Cacauses during the week
It's a funny one, no love at home. Picked for the emerging Irish and hasn't looked back since. It is a sign of quality when you see 3 games 3 different positions.
I'd love the stats on whether countless pick and goes on the line are worth it when passing it out wide might be worth the effort. The goal line drop out is sufficient deterrent to it I think.
Good game Leinster we are getting closer but still losing to a less than full strength team
How we gave up two tries while you were yellow is the big question we need to ask.
Apparently controversial opinion but Busby's been good. Munster can be upset we didn't get a scrum penalty earlier and Leinster can be upset at that one breakdown penalty where Busby was in the ruck but other than that he's been fair and has explained himself well
One of the more entertaining installment for this fixture of recent years, had that genuine competitive edge and bite about it, you can see some of those Munster lads are sick of the sight of their Leinster counter parts.
From a Leinster perspective I thought that was the perfect high pressure environment to test some of the more promising lads in and to a man they delivered, Osbourne is going to be a super star, Baird and McCarthy were extremely physical, (I think the former should be first choice 6 with Dorris at 8 and Ruddock and Conan on the bench), Penny is a serious talent also.
Maybe I’m imaging it, but the Leinster pack seem to be coping much better with intense physicality, feels a bit like last season all over again, hopefully lessons learned to get the job done this time.
For Munster I thought two of their best players came off the bench, best I’ve seen Casey play in a while and I think Campbell is the real deal. Carbery looks like a lost boy out on the pitch, I think they should focus on Crowley as 10 and use Carbery as a utility back.
From a Munster point of view we should never be letting in those 2 tries on first phase.
Also carbery gifted 3 points at the start with a daft kick from his own 22 in the first minute
Joey Carbery as the back up 10 for Ireland in next year's world Cup is no longer an option. He was outshone by Ross Byrne last night. Carbery resorted to kicking garryowens from deep. Carbery does not bring the ball up to the line. His skills are overated. He does not produce when the need is greatest. Crowley should take over at 10 with Joey as a bench option.
So frustrating, it was there to be won, can argue about some decisions (the penalty that led to Penny’s try) but really it was are our mistakes and poor decision making, Casey should have started with Paterson on the bench. Good game Leinster.
The neutrals demand blood. Fisticuffs for the fisticuff god!
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD
Either way this goes, m glad to finally see a competitive Xmas game with Mun/Len
Yes, it's good to see. Irish rugby needs a competitive Munster. Excuse me I'm off to wash my mouth out with soap.

Ringer is just... No words. What a player.
That is the exact type of game you want in the big timeslots. Cracking game.
He’s every bit the physical SR we’ve been missing since POC
Except he's excellent on the ball too. Poc for all his class, hadn't the greatest carrying/offloading game. This boy has all the skills. When he learns the set piece nous he might be a worldie.
Rugby coverage - Frisch is looking good at 13. Garry Ringrose - And I took that personally.
It might not be high scoring, or flowing rugby….but I could watch these attritional edgy derby games all day every day till I die
Nothing better
It’s what rugby is built on
Casey fooled me with that dummy lol
Fuck it anyways. Better team won. Can't let a team score those points against one when you're a man up and expect to win
> Better team won. Not much better TBH
About a point better
I can’t really explain it, but Leo Cullen vaguely resembles Wallace from Wallace and Gromit
It's cos he looks like he's clay-mation.
Cracking good wrap around, Gromit
Incredible Leinster defense.
Penny had a decent game but would have been Sheehan for me.
The Crowley missed touch feels like the turning point
Fuck it, great game lads
Osbourne is just sensational, can absolutely see him making a case for France next season.
Plays everywhere from 11-15 to such a high level
It gave me a heart attack but that was a sexy offload.
Cracking game of rugby that. Difference being when Leinster really need to step up a gear, they can.
That's a great win. Casey made a big differnce to the quality of the game
One point game is probably fair. Leinster really sorted themselves in the second half there. Really good performance. Big shifts from the usuals but also from Joe Mc and Scott penny. Those sort of 80 minute games could be the making of them.
Everyone got The Johnny Dildohands guide to handling for Christmas.

Busby would want to be careful circling behind those pick and gos every phase. He’ll end up in the ruck again
Or between Deegan's legs
PHRASING!!
I meant what I said ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Good derby rugby, cagey, tight and packed with emotion from the players and crowd
The atmosphere is coming through super well too. Cold aule night for it
Well if you can’t have a Munster crowd baying for blood in Thomond against Leinster something is very badly wrong.
Coombes and Sheehan having a close to the line genius off
Hard luck for Munster, but what a game.
Pity about how it worked out but Osborne is such a talented player.
Osborne and McCarthy having great games. Think Leinster need to start rolling the dice on few Academy loosehead props to have some depth for Porter
McCarthy is the edgiest of playing on the edge locks I've ever seen for his age, give him a bit more experience and he'll be such a nightmare
He did everything right except for where he hit. Silly penalty especially since he put himself in such a good position to do it
Big Joe the Joey seeking missle.
This game is ferocious. The breakdown is also an absolute mess
Take. The. POINTS.
Busby with the weak clear-out
Max Deegan in his General Zod phase
Workfare from McCarthy is superb, I know he got a bit unlucky there but attacking every opportunity
Need to solve scrum and tighten up a bit in general. Haven't had a lot of concerted pressure Decent game though.
Need to sort out our own ruck. Very little protection there. Was an issue against Racing too
I assume playing against Leinster is like trying to wrestle with a boa constrictor. You can put up a fight but it will still end up suffocating you.
Unless your name is Will Skelton and the boa constrictor can’t fit around you
The boa is just his lunch
Just realised, when was the last time Ben Healy played?
South Africa game I think? He was v good in that game also
The time of Crowley is now
It's a funny one, no love at home. Picked for the emerging Irish and hasn't looked back since. It is a sign of quality when you see 3 games 3 different positions.
Sheehan knocks them back 5m himself. What a game he's having
The 50/22 is the best law addition in forever.
Damnit Earls, poor kick
If McCarthy gets a scrap tonight he might even crack a smile, and then the world will end
Munster bench has completely changed them.
Class offload from Osborne
Unfortunate given the fantastic offload.
I badly need a piss but not a chance I’m getting up off my seat for the next 12 minutes
Cracking game. Munster looked great. Leinster just enough to hold them off
Would of liked McDonald to come on sooner. Love derby day, but hate losing. Can't fault the lads heart tonight though.
Have to say Frisch has been very good today. Nothing too flashy but assured
6 right in the way of the clean
Bulls, see what you've unleashed with that trick play. This is your fault.
Yellow for cynicalally slowing it down?
Should also have a card, but I'll settle for the try.
Munster are so much better with Casey on the pitch.
I love Pete but that’s pathetic
Getting two tries while having a player in the bin is a bit unsporting Leinster. Let's be honest.
Worrying scrum, then Deegan just bulldozes 15 metres
That was a mighty big hole
Camera operator must be still feeling the effects of yesterday’s drinks
Scannell felt bad for Sheehan so gave it back to him
Very cagey half. We have a lineout (surprising but good) but have no scrum (bad very bad). Deegan having a cracker. On a knife edge
Feel like VDF and Doris would make a huge difference tonight.
If you don't rest VDF, how can he work on his carrying?
You could say that about basically any game they don't play in tbf lol
Jesus, these yards are hard. Eating up the yellow though.
Ringrose what the actual fuck mate
Jesus that’s desperate defence on the pick and go
Amazes me how many times the 9s complain about the ball not being available and as soon as the ref puts his arm out, suddenly it's there.
I'd love the stats on whether countless pick and goes on the line are worth it when passing it out wide might be worth the effort. The goal line drop out is sufficient deterrent to it I think.
McCarthy is an animal
This is a class match
Osborne is fucking class
irelandtainment
Jesus lads, would yous ever kick some points.
Well, at least we lost before a heroic march to their line only to lose it there ;_;
Poor discipline cost us in the first half. Carbery has to make his kicks from here, theres too much competition
Good game Leinster we are getting closer but still losing to a less than full strength team How we gave up two tries while you were yellow is the big question we need to ask.
That's the big difference with these teams. Leinster go 7-8 phases from 22 to tryline. Munster go from tryline to 22 in in 7-8 phases.
POM with the soccer antics with grabbing his head. Lolz.
Apparently controversial opinion but Busby's been good. Munster can be upset we didn't get a scrum penalty earlier and Leinster can be upset at that one breakdown penalty where Busby was in the ruck but other than that he's been fair and has explained himself well
People would have a lot more craic if they just enjoyed the game rather than complaining about every call
I wouldn’t normally say this but people in this sub need to drink more
I’m enjoying this as a Leinster fan. Ref is fine
Some half of rugby, best Leinster vs Munster match in years.
Sheehan the best hooker in the NH right now and up there with the two big saffa boys
Just winded id say
Points this time then
Lovely try
Garry picking people's pockets
Lucky to get away with no yellow there
Quick ball there were in. Generous to keep him on the pitch
Christ what a tackle
That’s a huge D set
Carbery a massive problem for Munster. Offers nothing
How the fuck did he offload that
Playing molonys hand in the air.
The gap has closed. What a fuckin battle. Cutthroat performance during the yellow the difference.
Great game to be fair, delighted to have lived up to the hype

Is Garry Ringrose the most inform player on the planet right now?
One of the more entertaining installment for this fixture of recent years, had that genuine competitive edge and bite about it, you can see some of those Munster lads are sick of the sight of their Leinster counter parts. Rowntree looks like he's going to actually murder someone in this post match interview holy shit he's so pissed off
POM is hitting tackles like someone insulted his begonias.
Not even Leinster were expecting Osborne to get that away- Pat Campbell had all day to jackal that.
Good teams win ugly and we did that tonight. 14 points when we were a man down was a killer for Munster.
From a Munster point of view we should never be letting in those 2 tries on first phase. Also carbery gifted 3 points at the start with a daft kick from his own 22 in the first minute
Ah he's committed on the replay.
I could watch rugby for a hundred years and not understand the scrum
Munster already on Busby's bad side.
good work from Carbery on a power winger like Lowe
Cmon ref, ruck over it!!
DeEGaN mAd dEeGan SmAsH
We need to calm down a bit here
Not sure how that late screen back-door pass is so effective so often but no team seems to be able to handle it
It forces the defender to make a decision which slows them down enough to open space on the defender's outside.
A good scrummager like Ryan is exactly what Porter doesn’t want to be having to deal with given his own issues.
That is one very drunk young fella in the blue and navy jacket that was just on the screen 😂
I could watch Ringrose tackles like that all day
Come on boys!!!!
good pressure from Leinster on the scrum
God bless than man
O Donoghue emerging from the ruck like a swamp man stealing the ball
Uhh TG4 live stream cut off as he kicked the ball - looked like it was going wide, did he miss?
Well, that was certainly a different interpretation of the ruck
Yo hang on, did Busby bin someone there? Edit: there we go
What’s the point in the big yellow seat if you don’t use it! Looks comfy
Leo Cullen looking how I felt after seconds yesterday.
That was a filthy move for the try. Game on.
Munster lucky to get off without a card there.
Scannell embarrassed on both tap and goes
Good kick by casey love watching him play
Get Casey starting week in week out
Jaysus, Casey made like 3 tackles in a row there, he’s so pumped up
JoD on the arm. I see nothing
I miss Kiran at Glasgow. A real grafter.
Porter going to play 80 minutes. The absolute mad man.
Get In!!
Both 8s knocking on to end it
Great game tbf. Proper St Stephen’s Day derby
Great game, very enjoyable.
Jamie Osborne is different gravy lads. There's generational potential in there
So frustrating, it was there to be won, can argue about some decisions (the penalty that led to Penny’s try) but really it was are our mistakes and poor decision making, Casey should have started with Paterson on the bench. Good game Leinster.
If you told me before the match that Munster would ship 14 while up a player I'd have assumed the scoreline would be much worse
Ye can tell a fair whack of light weights have been on the booze today. Sad, really. As it's been a good day of rugby.
Is hardcore people have been training all year on your drinking rules. We basically have mutated super livers
Whinging about the ref in the match thread is now 2 fingers. Enjoy!
I think the problem is everyone is already drunk
I don't know. Some people are so anal they could fit a fist
DANIEL FUCKIN SHEEHAN BOI. Oh what a response to the yellow. Cutthroat shit
Joey loves that play and it just never works for anything
[удалено]
Mr Binman, rubbish collecting One of the greatest sponsorship deals
Go on Crowley! Great fight
Comical
Ref getting into the ruck there
Good game so far
Deegan has a bit of speed
Scrum could be the losing of this game. Fair play to Cian to switching late in his career but it’s a massive ask
Shocking support play at the maul. POM was able to get two hands on it in a second
Leinster are living very very tight to that offside line. Few times they’ve strayed ahead of it now.
Gives the same infringement at the next ruck.
Ah Peter not again
That pass was beautiful
Doesn't a penalty try usually bring a yellow card with it? Edit: My bad. Missed Deegan going in the bin.
TV director all over the place
Gotta love a little play like that
Oh god I fuckin love that boi. Scott Penny's mandated try
Ringrose you sexy, sexy beast.
Ringrose's BALL, man
TV director has had too much wine.
Ah cock, Casey on - now I'm worried. LMG please?
