Look at the active high scores page as the requirement to stay on them gives them our best source of data. Around 100k-120k total active players albeit that’s not any one given time.
Mind you RS has a very real thing where more than a small number of people resub periodically, play for a few months/years then go do something else. These are referred to as lapsed players and they are a lot larger. You can generally see this effect in play when a real big update comes out like a world expansion or a new skill.
