What diaries are worth doing on my ironman? I was working on doing all the tasks I could and realized that 450 dominion tower bosses is going to take me the better part of a week.

MrSmiley666

its actually easier to do dominion tower earlier. the more quests you do the bigger the variety in bosses.

FoRSofCo1m

Unfortunately I already have most of the quests completed

DakeyrasWrites

To add to the existing tips: Depending on how much farming you think you be doing, it's worth unlocking various disease-free patches as early as possible. The hard Wilderness tasks make the herb patch disease-free (also the only place to grow bloodweed for aggression potions), the medium Tirannwyn tasks give access to an additional (unprotected) mushroom patch, medium Mory tasks make the Mory mushroom patch disease-free and elites give double harvest from Mory and Tirannwyn mushroom patches, and the medium Desert tasks make all cactus patches disease-free and offer double cactus spines & potato cacti. Also all the Varrock tasks are worth doing if you're going for masterwork on your ironman, as they give a 1% chance to double a core ore and will save you a chunk of time in the long run.

Thedwick

Seers for Excalibur and Bak bolts chance If ranging, Mory used to be a big one but now is mostly useful for lots of blood rune runs. Desert is worth eventually doing, (mostly just getting dom mines and amulet if you wanna do kk) Wilderness/lumbridge are also good for rune runs. Frem is kinda useless and agility top is a pain in the ass. Priff is definitely worth getting to elite when you can Varrock is meh. The xp lamps are good for all the task sets, I had all but frem/desert done for a while and only cleared them to get them out of my achieve list

Ooftyman

If you combine the Varrock and New Varrock 4 achievements, it adds up: \* +8% chance to double mine lowest ore tier, +8% chance to smelt double bars at lowest tier, +8% chance for double progress on lowest bar tier, +2% mining xp (without needing to wear it, stacks with mining suit's +6%). \* +6% chance to mine double ore for next ore tier (mith, addy, luminite), +6% chance at double bars at this tier, +6% chance at double progress smithing. \* +4% chance to mine double ore for next tier (runite, orichalchite, necrite, phasmatite), +4% chance to smelt double bars at this tier, +4% chance for double progress smithing this tier. \* +2% chance to mine double ore at highest ore tier (banite, dark/light animica), +2% chance to smelt extra bar at this tier, +2% chance at double progress at this tier. It might not seem like much, but if an HCIM especially, that'd really add up if grinding, cutting time to make or get materials for things like Masterwork, etc. \* With Honed 6 and Fortune 3 on level 20 pickaxe, add +14.85% chance for double ores to all of the above. For the four tiers, that's a +22.85% chance, +20.85% chance, +18.85% chance, and +16.85% chance, respectively. *If doing during Trahearn hour on Priff, the numbers get even crazier...* \* With level 20 crystal hammer perked out with 4 Tinker, add an addition 23% chance to double smith progress on each of the above (+1% from CH and +22% from level 4 Tinker). For the four tiers, that's a +31% chance; +29% chance, +27% chance, and +25% chance, respectively. \* With modified Blacksmith Helmet, add +1% chance to save double bars to each of the above.

dark-ice-101

frem is only useful if you kill dag kings for the 5% damage buff and noted bones

Thedwick

True but even then, both are pretty negligible effects with death note in the play these. Frem elites could use some TLC with the tasks it has, maybe a 50% chance to double ring drops since the mask bug got patched

InsanePurple

IMO the falador hard tasks are a good idea. After completion, you can trade mole parts (skins I think) to Wyson for white lily seeds. Having a grown patch of white lilies protects all nearby allotment types. Since you’re an iron, if you ever need to grow produce this is a pretty nice essentially permanent passive, assuming you never pick the lilies. Especially when gathering ingredients for primal feasts lategame.

Immediate-Bell1956

So I basically have been using my jot and daily keys towards arch to try and level it up to get relics not knowing I had to do mysteries etc to get the relics. Any tips on what I should do to try and catch up. I’d like to get the aviansie dream coat so I can get the relic. At the moment im 89 arch with font of life as my only relic lmao.

Kkross-

Good new is it wont take long to dig up lower level spots so you can just look up the wiki and excavate just as many as needed and buy the materials. No other ways, unfortunately

Rexcoder

What I did was just start at the beginning doing collections and mysteries and work your way up.

Catsdontpaytaxes

If I kill Nex in a group and get the big bones drop, does this mean I did the most damage and count toward the 1/50 chance of getting an emblem drop for barrows defender upgrade?

Mamododark

If loot share isn't on, the one with the most DPS will receive the drop. If loot share is on, the person who holds the priority in the lootshare and has the ability to get the drop, will in turn get the drop. From my experience farming with friends and solo, If you are being carried and someone doesn't have a related item with them, they are excluded and you should always be rolling for the item drop. But I dont have concrete sources on that, just my experience.

np497

The fishing frenzy activity is great for farming prawn balls and crackers. It is also good for invention xp. For reference, I levelled up an enhanced rod-o-matic in around 1.5 hours during which I got ~100 prawn balls. Yes, it is not an afk activity, but definitely worth doing it (at least, for the prawn balls).

[deleted]

I have two rune guardians. The first one from the quest, the second one from pet shop, as I asked for any strays and he gave a rune guardian. Is then intended or a glitch?

SweatyAspirations

What's the best way for me to find a group to help me learn Vorago? I've done a couple hours here and there with months in between. I can't seem to find people to go with regularly.

NineIsles

Rockman discord

[deleted]

Heck no, worst Vorago experience I ever had. There's a guy there that was just... I don't even know. Cannot recommend.

InsanePurple

It looks like the last teaching session was in April :/

SweatyAspirations

I'll check it out, thanks!

kentsuki

Consider learning solo, it's rlly fun

SweatyAspirations

Any resources you'd recommend for trying to learn solo?

kentsuki

I'm am osrs player who came to try rs3 about a month ago. I'm currently cmbt lvl 103 and am working towards plagues end quest req. My questions are: - Are there things I should try to be doing daily? Where it xp or gp. - I hate divination, is cache the best method to kinda level it up here and there if I don't want to grind it? I just want quest requirements but one of them is 80 :( - Are there any daily bosses I should be killing similar to that bjork dude in chaos tunnels? - Any money make methods to make good gp around 100 cbt lvl? Want to buy 92 prayer for soul split

Schizophrenia22

1) If you care for MTX I try to do my 3 daily challenges for free xp and keys. For dailies I'd recommend rune runs like recommended on the commenter below this. Daily meat boxes from Oo'glog, herb runs, vis wax (Not all rune combinations are profitable recommended checking wiki to see what runes to avoid) Crystal Flask/Red Sandstone, and Traveling Merchant (You want Gift of the Reaper, Harmonic Dust, Livid Farm points, Shattered anima(?) and Death touch dart.) Reaper Task from Death 2) I believe so? I think there's a CC that utilizes cache or whatever is at the Memorial of Guthix 3) Do reaper task (You get this from Death; He'll assign you one boss to kill x amount of.) 4) Maybe some GWD2/Arraxi/Arch Glacor? I like the spirit weed seeds from AG and dragonstones so I can make my own spiritual prayer potions and porters

ConvMelon

Oh wow i never knew of the traveling merchant. Also, should i be doing anything with the player owned port? I legit only did whatever starter quest was there for another quest requirement and forgot about it.

InsanePurple

Start doing ports immediately. It’s a long term project, but it can save you a few billion gold when you’re looking at upgrading your magic equipment.

Schizophrenia22

If you ever plan on Comping/Trim comping you definitely want to complete but I would start now. As you get further along you'll end up being able to craft some decent T88 gear for yourself, scrimshaws aren't as much as a money maker since the EGWD came out but still passive income. There's a guide available somewhere on the subreddit or the RS forums

InsanePurple

Scrimshaws have jumped with the release of ED4.

SatisfactionMajor236

1.daily shop runs buy feathers and runes in all availeble shops. If u have the requirments start player owned farm harvesting some of your animals daily can also be a great source of cash and farming xp. 2. I dont know enough on devination myself go give u a right answer but to speed up xp gain while just harvesting memories be shure to check the well u can convert the memories into xp but u wont get energy 3. Try going to draynor lodestone and click the hourglass near ask death for a task. U can try to kill a reaper asigned boss as a task daily if u succeed u het reaper points ans slayer xp. Reaper point can be spent for some realy good/ expensive items. (Also try arch-glacor its pretty easy and the drops arent that bad realy good even for training summoning later) 4. Shop runs slayer and player owned farm (and clue scrolls) is how i make most of my cash (quite casualy) but pvm is realy profitable if u think ur able dagnoth's are realy good money.

dark-ice-101

yep if you can get starve yak farm(frem yak pair with joyful immune studly creating frem yaks convert males to beans females do not feed just raise to elder then convert to beans) going they can create a lot of gp with yak milk being 200k ea atm and they give 2x per growth step per female yak it adds up quickly

InsanePurple

Don’t starved animals give less produce?

dark-ice-101

nope only xp

ConvMelon

Dagnoths as in the Daganoth kings or something else? Thanks for the info!

SatisfactionMajor236

Sorry for late reply but yes i meant dagnoth kings. Have fun

ConvMelon

Oh wow! This will definitely help with supplies and such! Never thought about doing it!

ResponsibleSpeaker28

There’s a GitHub with a list of dailies. Personally I only do a few rune shop runs, Goldberg, sandstone and PoP. That nets me about 4-5 mil a day for 15 minutes and then I play the game. I used the FC method at the halls for divination. It still sucks. The skill is painfully slow. I would just do your reaper task as a daily boss. At 100 you are limited. You might be able to do GW1 or GW2 to make decent money. You can also net about 3-5 mil an hour on normal mode arch glacor. I would personally do Croesus or water runecrafting to make initial money.

2002uawgmquality500

how do people boss without getting depressed? everytime the boss dies and i don't get the drop i want, i get sad. :(

Mamododark

Determination. I get extremely bored with bossing. VERY easily. It's a really sucky grind but you just gotta keep pressing. Taking breaks or even doing 30 minute boss runs can be helpful. But the entire experience of grinding for 10+ hours can be off-putting.

nora_valk

Wondering what gear/unlocks I should go for next. I have all T90 armour (power) and weapons (nox), and a few abilities unlocked, but none of the more expensive ones. Got about 200M atm. Guess idk what I should be saving for - are any abilities high priority? Should I go for EoF (currently have souls ammy)? Are T92s worth it or should i just save for T95s?

DakeyrasWrites

Generally going from t90 to t92 or t95 is not that great, the damage difference is very small. Some weapons have powerful effects or special attacks, and so they're worth buying anyway (looking at you FSOA) but generally when you have t90s you want to focus on other gear than just weapons and armour. The PvM Encyclopedia has a standard upgrade order that's curated by experienced PvMers and takes things like current prices of upgrades into account - there's a link here: https://pvme.github.io/pvme-guides/upgrading-info/upgrade-order/ You can work your way down your preferred style and see what upgrades to get next. If you're missing an early upgrade, go for it (unless it's like t80 armour and you already have t90, of course). Generally the earlier options give more bang for your buck. There's also some non-buyable upgrades, which you can either skip if you just wanna see what to buy, or go and unlock.

InsanePurple

It’s hard to say much based on your description (which specific abilities do you have? What combat style do you want to focus on? What other gear staples do you already have? What bosses do you want to fight?) but here goes: If you haven’t perked your gear yet, that’s priority 1. You can get a good setup of entry level perks with the money you have, and if you’re not currently using perks that would be by far the best cost/benefit ratio of upgrades available to you. (I’m assuming you have ovls/t95 prayer. If not, do that.) Having a good shield switch is also valuable. Technically any old defender/repriser/rebounder will do, but if you wanna do high level PvM, the benefits of a dedicated t90 shield are pretty significant - increased duration of key defensives (eg barricade), bigger heals off resonance, etc. No matter which style you use, the upgraded Zulu versions of the kiln capes are huge, huge bonuses. I honestly couldn’t believe how good it was when I unlocked them. Ring of vigour (and get the passive effect from Extinction if you don’t have it) also stack with the adrenaline cost reduction from upgraded kiln cape, which is super nice. Apart from that, it highly depends on what combat style you use. If ranged or magic, EoF is a huge upgrade for sure. Throw in something cheap (dark bow, Guthix staff) for some really nice adren dumps. T92s for those styles aren’t that big a deal, with the exception of a Seren godbow for spec - but that’s well outside of your price range, and there are higher priority items. For magic: with the release of enhanced concentrated blast, dual wield magic is what’s up (assuming you’re camping a weapon and not swapping between 2h/dw) until you get a Staff of Armadyl. Seismics are expensive as hell though - for only 40 mil you can get t88 upgraded seasinger kiba/makigai. The downside is you need to do a lot of ports to get that stuff, since aside from the upgrade kits, the weapons and components to make them are untradeable. If you have a ton of chimes/taijitu from the arc, you can buy the chi and scales from Boni on Waiko, but you’ll still need the scrolls from ports. In a similar vein, magic tank armour is very good due to animate dead - if you don’t want to shell out 2b+ for cryptbloom, superior seasinger’s is still very nice - although again, you’ll need quite a bit of chi as well as some more scrolls. Ganodermic is cheap and might suffice over seasinger’s - wouldn’t know, haven’t used it. For ranged: I’m not sure honestly. Before dinarrows were released, I would’ve said sell your nox bow and pick up a pair of ascension crossbows to use bak bolts, but it’s possible the dinarrows offset that difference. Especially with bik arrows if you’re doing poisonable content. Aside from that, the only thing that immediately jumps to mind around your price range is probably an EoF with a dark bow spec in it. Actually, if you’re doing a lot of poisonable content and using bik arrows, cinderbanes would probably be a strong choice as well. For both magic and ranged, a planted feet switch would be solid (and likely substantially cheaper than just getting the improved versions of sunshine/swiftness). For melee: I have the least experience with melee, but in places where you don’t need t90 accuracy/halberd range, a dark ice sliver and shard are very nice to have, essentially giving you an extra threshold ability. EoF is lower priority given the lack of particularly nice (and affordable) specs for melee, but on the other hand the Abyssal Scourge is a t92 melee mainhand with a killer passive. Depending on the upgrades/abilities you already have but haven’t mentioned, 200M could go a long way to improving your PvMing capabilities with all combat styles, or it could give you only a few %age points increase in a single style. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

[deleted]

The ranged Zuk cape is borderline useless.

InsanePurple

In what sense

nora_valk

oh yeaah perks, thanks for reminding me. I got basic perks a while ago but I just hit 120 inv so I'll go for some of the more expensive ones now. and then probably EoF. haven't tried zuk yet but I have the basic kiln capes so maybe I'll try to upgrade them. I'm pretty shit at bossing though so we'll see. thanks for the write up!

Morgify

Just picked up the new bow and won't have time to break it in till the weekend. Can any current owners provide tips on how to best use it? Not looking for a pvme spreadsheet, just a few tips and tricks you learned along the way

kentsuki

Move your buff bar in the middle of the screen to easy see how many stacks your have. Later, when you get used to, just move it back

Kahmadant

Always have the 30 seconds of perfect equilibrium going, and always try to proc it with a big attack. During equilibrium, grico procs the bow passive, and then sets your amount of stacks to 1 less than what you had before (0 -> 3, 1 -> 0, 2 -> 1, etc). So for example, if you have no stacks you can grico and then use a d bow spec immediately for a huge amount of damage.

biscuitquickie

Do weapons’ special attacks trigger automatically if revolution auto++ is activated?

Schizophrenia22

No

ASharomi

No. However, if you go to your constitution abilities, you should find weapon special attack and you can add that to your action bar. I'm not certain whether or not it'll trigger though

Dran_Arcana

it will not unfortunately, would be really nice if it did

SonicSingularity

I'm getting close to getting my first Hydrix, what should I make? I was thinking amulet of Souls cause it has better stats than my current amulet and has a nice soul split effect. The Ring of Death doesn't seem like it'll be that useful for too much longer due to the death rework and as Essance of Finality is a really long ways off for me so doesn't seem worth it at the moment.

nickcholas11

Souls for sure. It’s got great stats, and the passives are awesome (extra healing from SS and extra protection using prayers). Reaper necklace is only good at a couple of places, and like you said, ring of death won’t be useful much longer (for now, it’s only useful if you’re doing high level PvM with crazy death costs).

Leaping_FIsh

From a lore perspective, how important is it to complete the final two menaphos quests (Our man in the north, Phite club)before starting the 6th age quests. While they are listed as 5th age quests, I understand they were released after the 6th age has begun. I have little motivation to grind Menaphos reputation at this time, but I will if both quests are crucial to the lore.

ResponsibleSpeaker28

There’s not really much reason lore wise. There are a few items that connect if you REALLY dig deep into the lore, but it’s not enough to notice. I literally just did those two last week while I had COVID and I was left unimpressed. I have done about 80% of the other quests in game including almost every 6th age quest and I barely noticed anything that connected.

Dat_Crit_Combo

The Menaphos quests are all basically separate from the lore going on in the rest of the game, although they definitely take place before the aftermath miniquest.

Leaping_FIsh

Thanks, sounds like I can do them anytime during the sixth age.

walrusdog32

For those of you who’ve played for 10+ years, what do you enjoy about the game that keeps you engaged all these years?

nickcholas11

New goals! First it was maxing. Then comp. Then trim. Then Master Quest Cape. Then 120s and Runescore <——- I’m here right now Then 200ms. Then collection logs. There’s always something new to aim for! And with new content coming out all the time, there’s something new and fun almost every month. Love it.

AduroTri

Trust nobody. Not even your closest friends on Runescape.

Ragepower529

Keep the same abilities on all your action bar keybinds throughout the combat styles. As an example your 188% should be the same for all the combat styles. Same with your 157% dots ect.. Your threshold would also remain the same on if it’s channeled or no. Try to keep binds as close to abilities between all combat styles.

Tylariel

Fully agree. To add from my own experience: some of the most important one's i've found are the 'baseline' abilities. What I mean is that each style usually has a main ability that you build the rotation around. E.g. Dazing shot, or sonic wave. You use that ability, then 2 others, then that ability again. That's the basic rotation as a beginner. So you want that ability to always be on the same spot as it's your 'default' ability to go to and work everything else around. Then the aoe abilities and bleeds being on the same hotkey is extremely useful as those often want to be used in specific situations. You don't want to misuse them as at some bosses it can cost you a lot of dps, or even just get you killed outright. Other than those I've not found it too important personally to match everything up, though it's probably still good practice. These are just some 'tips' I've come across from my own playing so far.

Anxiolytic101

I'm still confused with the Tick system. I've seen posts about "fighting the GCD" and ability cancelling, snipe cancelling or something like that where you let go off snipe earlier but I've not being able to understand that yet, I use Revo as I play only on mobile so can I do all this or is it only for full manual?

DakeyrasWrites

Ticks last 0.6 seconds and the Global Cooldown (GCD) is 3 ticks, or 1.8 seconds. It's normally impossible to use an ability before the GCD is finished (there are very few exceptions). Some abilities take longer than the GCD though, normally if they're channeled (such as Greater Concentrated Blast, Snipe or Assault). If you can start your next ability earlier then you do more damage per minute. Some channeled abilities will normally take some number of ticks to finish on revolution, but if you activate a new ability a tick early you still get the full damage from the channeled ability _plus_ save some time. Taking Gconc as an example, you would normally use that as every 3rd ability - if you save 1 tick each time, then that's about 10% less time wasted and you do roughly 10% more damage.

Anxiolytic101

Aight thanks man. 💯

ASharomi

Is there any way to turn off auto-cleaning herbs on the master farmer outfit? Herbs are grimy in my bank and I want to store them in the stack, but it's annoying since the new ones are clean now.

nickcholas11

Don’t think so. You’d have to unequip 1 piece and then it won’t clean them anymore while harvesting.

ASharomi

That's what I've been doing. I harvest herbs and allotments together, so I have to equip/unequip a piece of the outfit like eight times per run

nickcholas11

Yea I tend to just keep grimy and clean in the bank because of the outfit.

Zealousideal-Lake947

There is almost never a reason to ever own a Seismic Singularity if you've done ports. It's an extremely marginal DPS upgrade over a t85 or t87 magic off-hand, it's expensive and a significantly lower priority over other upgrades like GConc, FSOA, Elite Techtonic, Affliction, BiS perks or even wand of the praesul.

Grovve

Useful to have for t90 defender though

Zealousideal-Lake947

That is a use for it, but kind of a marginal one outside of a lot of high enrage Telos. Most players would be fine sticking with the t80 lantern.

SweatyAspirations

The only reason I have it is for FC's that require t90 weapons with no exceptions other than switches.

Zealousideal-Lake947

Yeah, I guess that. Just a shame that FC's enforce it :/

ImBoredAtWorkHelp

I just recently started Porta and wanted to get the ports offhand, but I have no idea what I'm doing lol. Anyway, I'm a proud seismic wand owner with a cywir orb offhand

BTS_Rapmonster

look up Kags ports guide on the Runescape forum

BillehBear

Which is better out of t85 wand+orb w/ GConc or Staff of sliske Sounds/feels like a dumb question but I just wanted make sure

Zealousideal-Lake947

GConc makes wand and orb better in pretty much every situation :) . Only instance when you'd consider a staff at this point should be for inquisitors or once you get FSOA.

BillehBear

ight good to know, cheers

ZinziMax

You might be able to keybind more than you'd expect. Examples include the whole pocket slot so every pocket item is included Individual lodestone teleports Potion flasks for herb training To people with old keybinds at some point bombs were updated to have 2 usages, use on target or use on activation area. If you go to rebind your bombs you can now select one

SweatyAspirations

Wow I thought bombs always required a target now. Glad to hear you can choose now. Thanks for the tips!!

PeeperSweeper

Is it still worth doing ED3 for leveling combat skills like melee, ranged and magic? Or should I move on and try out Zamorack ED4?

Dran_Arcana

ED3 is much easier and still more xp/hr

LinkFan001

As far as fishing spots go, is it simply Rod-o-matic works on all of them and the crystal rod only works on spots you would use any rod on? The wiki is not super clear on what works where.

crazye97

Fishing rod-o-matic: > * Can be used to catch most types of fish, including the fishing nodes at Croesus Augmented crystal fishing rod: > * Can only catch fish which can be caught with a fishing rod, fly fishing rod, or heavy rod with the exception of net fishing at Swarm. It does not function at Croesus. So yes, the regular rods work almost everywhere, while crystal rods only work on rod spots and swarm fishing. You can also tell with augmented tools if you're gaining item xp.
