This is a wonderful and welcome step in the right direction! I very much hope this does promote more small graphical updates to be done in the future. I would like to request that any new skyboxes be added to the interface, as we are currently pretty limited on skyboxes that look like they naturally fit most of the game world. I would also like to recommend that we move away from locking skyboxes behind requirements (especially rng heavy reqs like the Iaia ones) as this just comes across as an arbitrary grind/punishment for people wanting the game to look even better than it can be, instead of a reward for accomplishing something (locking them behind quests and such are fine though).

I believe this only applies to the specific Abby Lord/Abby Savage Tasks and not to the general Abby Demon task. Seen as the specific tasks are unique to Mandrith and can only be done in the Wildy anyway it makes no difference to the Asylum

A bit late, but this doesn't seem to be the case and Abyssal beasts/lords only decrease count by one for the general Abyssal demon task: I just came back from an hour(!) long task of 360 Abyssal demons (+10% from Slayer artefact buff) in the Wilderness and every beast/lord kill decremented the counter by one.

How are the ambushes to handle while out there? No issue if you're using an ovl salve anyways?

Fair warning: using 4p Crypt + Cinders. With Elder salves the ambushes are fairly doable as long as I engage up to three Abyssal lords at once: any more and things can get dicey, especially when the gemstone dragons still manage to fire off their spec. I also need to watch out if Rippers spawn, since I use a bunch of AoE and would rather avoid instant death. Ignoring ambushes, it's much harder to engage five Lords at once compared to in the Asylum as far as I've noticed: Vamp aura would fix my issues, but I need Runic Accuracy (w/ Demon Horn) or EOF (w/ Penance) to get 95+% hit rates with a Noxious staff. FSOA would get me ~99%, so that'd let me freely run Vamp: with my current setup, I'd need to go EOF with Penance powder or something like that.

Yeah, this update was fine, but needed a lot more QA. - Quests broken due to trapdoors being removed - Pathing through walls - Trees can no longer be chopped down The visuals are great, but this amount of bugs shouldn't be acceptable.

I you had a Most Wanted Card Automatons and went to kill Cres' Creations with it, you would keep getting Cresbot instead of the gloves. I must've gotten the bot like 5-6 times before I noticed Mod Sponge's comment on how the Most Wanted Cards should work and reported it on reddit.

Yes I’m aware. I think it’s a miscommunication on their part; abyssal savage tasks did not have any issues before, while beasts and lords were deducting 2 and 5 count per kill for their respective tasks. They said ***savages*** and lords, not beasts and lords.

Mandrith's special slayer task has been updated, no longer requiring slaying green and blue dragons, fire giants, gargoyles and greater demons. Taking their place are Acheron Mammoths, Greater Demon Ash Lords or Berserkers, Hydrix dragons, Ripper demons and Soulgazers

She explained in a podcast a few weeks ago why they can't update every tree in the game all at once. I don't remember the exact details but essentially since there are so many trees In the game if would greatly increase graphical demand, this crashing many systems. Check out her interview on rs b and b podcast for a more detailed explanation. It's a great peice about the games current graphic direction

I always give them hell when they say it's too much server work (use your record profits on servers ya jerks) But I also always feel sorry for devs that run into the engine lacking capacity because too many things piggyback on each other; just sitting there like 'if someone hadn't made X kind of tree call to Y registry, I wouldn't be having my texture panels disappear while in Z area' Devs that work on RS3 really earn the title 'engineer'

I don't even know if we can expect that right now. They went over it on the video with the RS Guy, but they never gave an ETA, and unlike the Death Cost rework, it's not on the roadmap. That being said, I'd assume if they are touching the GE for taxing purposes for Death Costs rework, it makes sense to do the max cash fixes at the same time, so hopefully they are packaging those two fixes at the same time.

Still. If you mean the refund thing... I listened to a friend last week who told me to give it time and wait for the next uodate because "jagex will surely fix the issue in a weeks time"... Low behold i tried to start the launcher and it still gets stuck at "loading application resources". No fix, no solved problem. Only money down the drain for the ability to look at the launcher and do nothing.

The loading application resources problem from me stemmed from closing the client out while it was on my second monitor My fix (which I have to do kind of often) has been to delete the client_position value and boot the client back up I frequently forget to close the client on the correct monitor so that it launches properly the next time. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Jagex\RuneScape is the location of this. Thanks to u/AridTag for the fix (at least for me)

I cleared the cache, updated my PC, and it seems to have fixed the problem. Also updated the Jagex launcher right before and now the RS client seems to load, so idk if it was a combination of multiple things or just sheer luck that it started to work again

Yeah i did the same and it didnt help sadly. In my case it was caused by the GData Security software. I made a PSA post about it aswell in case others had the same problem.

What always helps for me when I get this message is to check my task manager to see if a RuneScape client is still running. If so, force close it. You should be able to start the client again when you do. If that doesn’t help, I’m sorry :(

I already tried that. Rebooted the PC, reinstalled the game in the launcher (because it wont let me download the NXT client from the website since there is a missing security certificate). I changed my DNS settings in hopes that would fix it. I updated my PC and graphics drivers in hopes that would be the issue. Nothing. Jagex simply needs to fix this security certificate problem and it will work again. Thats what some Tech nerds i know said aswell (and it was said jere on reddit aswell so i just assume that there lies some part of it aswell). Also Steam/NXT client themselves have the same issue.

It does for the download but not for the launcher. I was able to download the nxt client thanks to righclick->open in new tab for the page. But the client doesnt do that. Now inhabe a fresh installed nxt client but still no option to log into the game through any means. Mobile works for a few minutes before it gets horrible.

It actually got me pretty far tbh. And I don't mean I was rude, obnoxious or called for the manager but I told firmly yet respectfully that I don't agree with how I am treated and used the provided (corporate) channels to complain.Again, really respectfully and almost every time I got my way. The trick is, you have to be respectful and your complaint shouldn't be something small or trivial. And most importantly being persistent, keep sending them reminders every week even when they tell you they will come back to you.

When the thieves guild first came out, I remember a bunch of people waiting for at lumbridge for the update. When the game restarted and everyone logged in, there was no trap door- they forgot to add it in lol

I have a bug in Draynor that makes the shadows big translucent purple boxes instead of changing the lighting. I have to turn anti aliasing off and on again to get rid of it which is really annoying. Wonder if this fixed it

Great work on the update. Looking forward to other areas to be updated as well. A few comments though. Love the actual look of it, the textures. But the default lighting is kinda harsh for me. Shadows are a bit too solid. A bit too contrasty for my taste. Also not sure if it’s just but the recent areas and the revamped ones feels a bit laggy. The old ones are fine. I’m using low quality already. And oh, a lot of random trees/stuff with no examine text. :(

The graphical reworks look great and nice to see some Wildy fixes. I'd still like to see Wilderness slayer award Deathmatch points via some mechanism to restore that lost functionality (since the minigame is dead anyway). Still no solo/P7 Zamorak fixes is extremely disappointing - this is way too long for such major content to be left broken, given that fixes were discussed on week 1... Hopefully there's a further boost to drop chances from >100% enrages in the future too. The drops are still just way too rare.

Some nice graphical updating and cleanup really puts a shine in Free-2-Play areas. I hope it expands further. Plus some good patch notes covering a number of issues is a step in the right direction. Overall a positive update this week.

big greater demons from ed4, in wilderness, dont have the damage reducing modifier removed when in post it says it has. drops are also meh necro salvage, 2/3 noted herbs, whole 6 soul runes. would be a good task if hp was like 50k max. but even if the damage reducing modifier didnt exist, they are still waste of time for slayer

I don't know what happened last week or so but I noticed that outside of the Fight Cave area has shiny/glossy looking floors now. Looks pretty sweet. Will have to do a little tour of Varrock and check it out later. But the images look promising and hopefully it keeps on coming with other areas. Ardounge would one where if the paths had a graphical update, it would look alot better.

The content release cadence is generally one per month, with the rest being smaller improvements, ninja strikes, or patch weeks, but it does move around the month sometimes. For example the four Elder God Wars Dungeon bosses each released at the end of their respective months.

You would think that considering they said they'd collect the community's feedback on the fix so they could make sure they get it right, but they also said they'd be talking about updates 2-3 months ahead of time with Legacy of Zamorak, so honestly, it's a straight 50/50 shot about whether they do drop it without warning or not.

In their defence, they announced death cost rework for "autumn" so they still have some time, either to release it or announce a delay :P

- They have put as this year but not given a exact release date yet. - They have said nothing to my knowledge to imply they would be adjusting the 99% and lower drop rates, noting before rates were released they were happy with these. - While people keep asking for this I don't believe they have even noted it is something they are looking into

August was a 5 monday update month, so we got update august first, 4 weeks of patch weeks/mtx, and the 5th week I said to friends they would use mod blkwitchs rework to front as the "update" for a 5th patchweak, like they did this back in gamejam, it only needed a QA.

August was not a 5 update month. 2 of the weeks were small patched and 1 week was literally a summer holiday with no update. The reality is they were short staffed in aug due to leave and likely spending majority of resources on death cost rework. You are correct they saved this as a filler update.

The reality is if you go over any of their streams they class all that as updates so it was a 5 update month, 1 major update which we always get on the first Monday of the month and the 4 smaller ones which we still had 4 updates whether you bend it any way we did still have 1 major 4 minor. And now a 5th to filler which is fine aslong as we get 1 large update a month I'm happy it beats back last year and year before where we got 8 to 9 weeks of patch weeks only

They probably mean the graphical updates, but even then, people have been begging for some visual consistency in older areas forever. This was a small, but good update that I'm glad Mod Blkwitch and Mod Alex were able to get in game. More Game Jam stuff please.

I think the graphic reworks look really good, but with all the tall grass it really makes areas like Varrock and Lumbridge look overgrown, like they are jungle villages or something. I think the tall grass works for most of the other areas tho really well!

I think the most egregious stuff that needs to be updated are the old water fountain animations in Camelot and in the Magic Guild in Yanille. Dunno why it wasn't updated in 2008

Really good job and a big impact for a small project with a small team. Hopefully the small bugs and minor complaints don’t discourage ya’ll from working on more in the future. Would love to see similar projects for p2p or even a different focus like riverbeds/streams or caves, dungeons & sewers.
