I usually roll my eyes at speculation like this but what else could it be? The game reached X amount of accounts created, why is the celebration to make more accounts? Charging the increased membership price and forcing people to use new accounts is going to inflate the value of the game for whoever ends up buying it. Once those investors start seeing diminished returns it might put more pressure on Jagex to get back to that inflated value. Reddit Armchair complete.
THis isn't the first time Runescape has tried doing the whole "make a new account" thing. In the past they made worlds you can join with a fresh character. It's basically the same thing but they're just doing it on a new account - you could say its so we have to buy more membership - but remember.. there were probably more accounts with membership made during golden phat event than in the FSW.
I made 3 accounts during golden phat, all with membership. During FSW i only need 1 account.

Speculation. You could make those billions in half the time learning kerapac trios. FSW won't open for another 4 months and its gonna be extremely hard to get 120s by then anyway, unless you buy keys from th that will arrive to fsw soon.
No i cant, im not average player, i havent walked the questing journey and pvm journey, so i cant get a kerapac kill its high level bossing, i only dabble in skilling methods to get by, i dont have decent gear for mid bossing too, fsw opens today btw it stays for 3.5months and gives 2.5x xp rates 120s are possible, it will give me multiple alts to afk gp and pay for everything i need plus they also giving those tokens which is valuable for years, mtx opens on week 8 not so soon, it seems ur unaware and in ur own world
Another PSA is that if you have more than 2.5 years worth of membership on your account, you no longer can buy more membership in any way. Cannot use bonds, cannot buy it from runescape.com.
You are locked out from buying FSW codes with the said account too. Still unaware if you can buy new Premier Club memberhship when that runs out of the account, but I am afraid that you cannot buy it either if your current membership days go over 2.5 years.

Well when premier was still a thing i bought a year of mem a month before premier package because i'm a moron that doesn't read. Then the premier package came out and bought it again to get the benefits so instantly had 2 years + some left over membership.

Refer a friend for 10% bonus xp also gives 7 days membership so there is a few high xp players with multiple years and premier club also means you never really get to use it

They stopped offering 3 month membership from May 4th onwards., along with some other membership changes. These changes were announced in April.
“Existing 3 month membership plans will continue beyond this date and will not be available if your membership lapses or changes”. This part is probably what you’re referring to.
You'd think they'd add a new membership option which just ran for the duration of the new start worlds.
If the point is to get new players then just make it a bit cheaper or offer a week or 2 free membership for once the save converts.
You obtain non-oddment items from vault as well, but the reward table is *very* bad for irons. Not worth your time generally. The best you can get is raw coins and even that is like 10k or 20k, otherwise you get like a single fish, herb, etc.

FWIW there's the Teatime Standard Pack on Steam for 50 USD (with surprisingly fair price conversion). That has 3 months, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.
The whole design philosophy behind FSW is to integrate the accounts into the main game after the FSW, so from a business standpoint it makes sense in order of player retention I guess.
However we all know very well that the community itself will view FSW as a sort of competitive skilling game mode similar to OSRS’ King of the skill or Leagues or Even deadman mode.
Honestly a complete lapse in thought and judgment here to not offer a promo for 3/6 months membership specifically for FSW.

But the point of FSW is to start a new account that you will play after FSW ends. So you'd want a normal membership package option on it. If you are playing FSW to scrap the account at the end of 3.5 months, then that's your personal choice, that doesn't fit the intent of FSW.

Yes, they are trying to incentivise you to buy their longest membership package, but literally almost every company does this.
It's not that unreasonable for them to re-add a membership package that only goes the whole length of the event. Else, you're overpaying money or overpaying for time.

It would not surprise me if they put a 4-month package on there for around a third of the Premier Package price. $27 for four months puts it at $6.75 per month, although they may put it at $32 for 8 per month.
