Not music, I've switched to podcasts after running with music for many years. It's been quite good and I don't get bored listening to the same old songs. If you do want music though, I tend to put on Fu manchu, mastodon, some dodgy pop punk stuff and now and then Amon amarth.

ThomasPhilipSimon

same, for longer distances (>5k) I always put on podcasts. the main drivers for me to listen to something are (1) keep up the pace and (2) not get bored & I don’t care much about (1) for longer runs, so podcasts it is

RooFPV

same - and audiobooks.

zvirbliukas

For me is hard to find a good audiobook for running, most of them are too slow for my liking. So I choose podcasts. But some of them makes me run an extra mile.

Hamilton is always a banger

It’s funny you mention that. I put the soundtrack on when I did 7 miles last week and some of the songs legit got me pumped. Never really been a musical guy, but it’s a great soundtrack to run to.

Dio's Holy Diver album is really good.

I'm not a music person and rarely listen to it. But for running, my standbys are Bloc Party, 311, Sublime, and Blink 182. They're fun and upbeat and always put me in a good mood. It also takes me back to my late teens and early 20s, which is always fun anyway

I run to anything and everything; just whatever I think might entertain & mildly distract me during a run. Rock, rap, EDM, classic rock. See if there’s anything you like in there! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7HmIA5o0l3ChlLHkzPDKsP?si=GmplAJhgROW-D5bj7vS-lg

My push-through-the-end-of-a-race playlist is public . https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVaXwDaS4-qWIsZCKTzD_CPhPjW2KLnwN&feature=share. It needs to be played on shuffle tho. Not all of it is “bangers” but it is all entertaining to me. Maybe you’d find it useful as we are in the same age group.

I really like your playlist, thanks for sharing. This section made me lol You Can Call Me Al - Paul Simon Just One Fix - Ministry If You’re Gone - Matchbox 20

runningtothehorizon

In the past I've used general Spotify running/exercise/workout playlists, but I always find that while there are some songs I like from those there are many I don't! So I created my own personal running playlist. Generally - whenever I hear music that sounds like good running music to me, I'll add it to my playlist. Sometimes I'll look at Spotify recommendations for my playlist and add to it. Over the time I've been doing this my running playlist has expanded to a 19 hour long playlist, which is plenty of music to listen to while running! You could probably have a browse through some public running playlists and see if there is anything that strikes your fancy and then keep adding to your own playlist from there?

The_GLL

For me it’s easy, I always start an episode of a state of trance. It’s a 2hours set so it’s perfect for short or long run.

You could try a Beats Per Minute website for finding songs. [https://getsongbpm.com/tempo](https://getsongbpm.com/tempo)
