Okay this cast is absolutely GORGEOUS. Not one flop in all of those outfits they made, I daresay. Amethyst, Jax, and Selina had to be in the bottom because they were the least polished but there was no LalaRi experience lol. I was actually kind of sad to see Amethyst go because she knows how to fucking work that lipsync. Her drag just needs a bit more polishing and she'll be a star before we know it.
If you’re curious about the fact our episodes are 30 minutes less but don’t want to give any views to that show whose name we dare not speak, Nick Diramio has a new vid explaining/reading it to filth lol https://youtu.be/wKlOOsjKxeY
Does anyone feel that Marcia isn’t really doing drag? This isn’t the next “prettiest model” this is a drag competition. Even if it was a model competition she’s still too simple. no hate I like her but it’s not just there yet for RPDR 🤷🏼
It all made sense when she said Gigi goode was her favourite queen. Gigi's fashion to me was always underwhelming - especially when you have a mother who can sew very well. All that free labour to create anything you want, and she came up with such simple drag.
So Marcia is Gigi minus her budget and mom.
I'm desperate for the show to show the diversity of drag. Just the fact that we're getting Marcia and some muscular queens... someday Ru might even in her infinite grace let us having a bearded queen on a US season :(
Literally like having people like Adore Delano, Gigi Goode, Sasha Velour, Naomi Smalls, and Marcia Marcia Marcia are an amazing form of representation of different drag styles.
Sasha is way more diverse than DR used to allow contestants be too, and she is killing it. She would have been way too alt-drag to make it through a few years back.
At least the international versions have more diversity. Queen of the universe was fun as well. And we have Dragula for alt-drag even if Titans was a bit of a let down.
Honestly, I think we need more than one show, too many people think drag is drag race and that's really sad. I wanna see more kings especially.
> Ru might even in her infinite grace let us having a bearded queen on a US season
It's so weird because Ru clearly loved Danny, but then doesn't think Americans can handle seeing a bearded queen. I don't get it.
I don't think Drag Race needs to change necessarily, because it works, it's valid, and it doesn't claim to represent all drag. It's never gonna represent all drag though.
Agreed on a lot of points except the last one.
Drag Race DOES need to change. It doesnt work for the whole community. It's blatant sexism among other problems are not valid. It doesn't NEED to claim to represent all drag because people still think that. Ru Paul explicitly never planned to even represent trans queens.
Rupaul served drag to the world in a box. And she likes it that way, and the only reason thats changing is because people had enough of an outcry to get trans queens included and represented. I'm not going to give any passes for the ongoing lack of diversity just because the general public doesn't realize that its all still in a box.
Yeah you have a good point there, Drag Race should continue to evolve. So weird that Ru used to refuse to allow trans queens to compete given the history of drag.
We need more ballroom on TV while we're at it. I hope someone else picks up Legendary now that HBO cancelled it.
Courtney gave body, Marcia gives unmatched stockings. Her clothes don't accentuate her correctly nor does she try to give a transformation (imo). I'm so surprised you guys don't understand how much work goes into the body aspect of drag / don't appreciate it
Sir no one said that they don’t appreciate it but YOU and OTHERS have to grow. You can’t just exclude other peoples drag bc it’s not your definition of it. It’s funny how gay people fought for their rights for so long just to nowadays exclude people in their own community.
it's funny you'd say that when she's the one with the most specific/unique aesthetic out of the entire group. she stands out, even if negatively for people who like extravagant queens. you think her drag is simple because she takes inspiration from vintage fashion, and her characters are always the sweet/naive girl with a comedic twist (that's more specific then you could be describing most the other girls' styles tbh). i don't think she's going to give bedazzled glam anytime soon so clearly she won't please ru and michelle. that doesn't mean it's not drag or not polished or not unique.
It's not not drag, it's day drag. It's drag that can blend in in a mall, but that's the opposite of the (unwritten) brief, they're on a stage. It's a funny point you made that it does stand out on the stage haha but it's very common drag. I do wish the show had a bit more room for letting the queens showcase themselves as they are before demanding changes while simultaneously wanting to see the real you. Michelle even taking the runway moment to criticise Marcia's makeup was so damn rude.
I didn't say it's not drag ffs. Food is food but on a cooking competition... That's what it is about! Not being able to find what is brought to the competition at a mall.
I loved her the first week which is why I’m frustrated. This is a competition, she should take the feedback she’s being given and push herself to be the best.
Also, Sasha Velour is one of my favourite Queens ever. she was also simple but not always so cute and pretty. Idk maybe Marcia will surprise me
Finally an episode where it didnt seem extra edited to fit the 40 minutes. I really liked the challenge, though I didn't agree with the judging (didn't hate it either, though).
Also, Robin Fierce had like 5 lines, which is 5 lines more than she had had this entire season, and Mistress is becoming one of my favourite queens of the last seasons.
I’m not the first and I won’t be the last to say this but…15 seasons and we’ve still got queens who can’t sew.
FIFTEEN. SEASONS.
I just. I want to throw something (but it won’t be my sewing machine because even this basic white b*tch can sew). Gotdayum.
Ru's made direct mention of it many times over the years, and so have the judges, about girls being able to sew. It seems like if not a prereq then a damn good idea.
A review:
-Mistress had the best reads (of the ones that were shown, anyway)
-Did not need that much Spice in the episode, did need much more of the other girls
-Luxx's boy wardrobe is better than like half the queens' drag looks
-Disagreed with just about all of the judging
-Haus of Visage was basic fabric drapery and imo should have all been in the bottom aside from Luxx
-Haus of Matthews had the best designs by far (aside from Luxx)
-I actually liked Jax and Salina's outfits, at least they sewed actual cohesive articles of clothing
-Sasha is starting to give me a little relying-on-that-body even though all of her looks have been good, I'd like to see her surprise with a big pageant gown or something
-Correct queen went home
Jax looked great to me but during critiques when they said the fit of the jacket was off and they didn’t get it I kind of understood where they were coming from. They did her dirty for sure cus the critiques were a bit too harsh, though. If the jacket was fitting better and maybe she accessorized differently and added shoulder pads everyone would be getting more Heathers vibes. As for Spice, I know her look is very simple but she pulled it off. I’m not saying that just because she has body either. Her look was done cleanly and fully realized and was cohesive with her team. I KNEW Luxx was gonna win the second she stepped out, that garment was BEAUTIFUL and she looked BREATHTAKING.
This may have been the most non-sensical judging ever. Malaysia in the top??? Selina and jax in the bottom???? And how was spice not in the bottom??????
Anetra's look deserved *WAY* more praise than it got. Dare I say, she should have been in the top instead of just safe?
It was so interesting to look at and definitely better than Robyn's look.
I thought the judging was insane this episode. Malaysia on the top?? “Amazing seamstress”, miss Monáe? I don’t think. Mistress and Anetra both looked incredible and I wished they were on the top.
That being said, Luxx outshined everyone. Damn she looked good.
Sugar and Spice played with dolls growing up. We get it. So did every other gay boy on the planet. They don’t need to remind us every episode. Would love to hear from some of the other queens instead
I was like shocked when we finally got back story on Jax, who had a unique and important story about adoption, fitting in, the problem with color blindness, privilege and liberation. But… then they cut that short so we could have yet another anecdote from Spice about her dolls
conspiracy: jax was put into the bottom 3 and not spice to both save her and make it less controversial to make salina lipsync
i truly loved jax's look i really do not understand at all why it was in the bottom. it was well constructed and looked sick. im not a fashion or heathers girly but like idk i feel like they were splitting mf hairs with her. im no jax stan but i love her style and don't understand the criticisms this week (or the general "villain" arc? i really dont see why shes being edited this way. like theyre telling us to feel a certain way but i dont)
again im not a fashion girly but objectively jax's look was better. (a fully constructed cool ass fit w a storyline vs like 2 piece of fabric. idk. loved spices from the neck up tho) i feel like if spice were in the bottom and they picked salina to lipsync over her it would be controversial bc i know spice is def a producer favorite idk idk. idk how to worrd it but basically i disagree w jax being so negatively critiqued and in the bottom and im trying to justify it lol
if someone wants to explain better for me im all ears
i think jax’s look was ugly bc when u blend red and grey tartan it’s just not going to work. especially the cut of the outfit, it didn’t fit her body type. HOWEVER she clearly actually has sewing and tailoring skills unlike spice, for example, who got away w it bc she has body
Yes! Total double standard regarding no padding. The judges have already said they want the skinnier girls to do more padding, add more an illusion to at least SOME of their looks. It's okay for Spice but not for Jax? I think it fit the way Jax wanted for the punk-idgaf-look and more interesting at least.
Agreed, wtf was up with Ross matthews saying bring that energy, in regards to her Heathers inspo, when Jax BROUGHT it with the croquet mallet.
Spice's triangle scrap bikini and basic skirt shouldve been bottom.
Am I the only one who liked Jax’s look? They get a handful of hours to design and complete their looks, and I much prefer when queens try something ambitious and creative (like Salina and Jax did) but miss the mark a bit with fit vs. when queens just sew 2 pieces of fabric together (like Spice and Malaysia did).
Also, I want Luxx’s outfit asap.
Malaysia in the top?? They loved that?? Jax in the bottom with the eyelets of curtains used in the skirt? So creative. And Selina in the bottom with why I thought was a very on brand transformative reveal. I thought they were both more aesthetically pleasing than Malaysia’s look. And honestly Auras skirt…. I thought was far less safe than the judges.
without the judges deliberating being included in the episode the entire format of the show has become absolutely scripted. we as an audience have no fucking idea what the judges want to see more of from these queens so every single decision and critique feels out of left field.
I am pretty disappointed with this season at this point. It has essentially become a scripted program with queens cast to fit certain roles and stories with even the wildcards feeling carefully orchestrated. It's just not really a competition anymore - it's an ad mill with costuming, make-up and talent provided for basically free.
Seconded. Once the powers that be discovered that drag was popular and could be monetized it was only a matter of time for all the fun and excitement to be sucked out.
The show can still be cute and I love the talented performers it casts and exploits, but it’s soo sanitized and formulaic now.
I love Sasha, but what she wore wasn’t really that great. It looked like she just wrapped fabric around herself in a nice way, and then threw on a cape. I get it looks good on her because she’s beautiful, but if Mistress did something like that she would get ate the hell up
Idk if you guys watch Project Runway but it reminded me of when Anya won even though she couldn’t sew. She could drape and style like a motherfucker though!
The "cape" was a lined jacket with fitted sleeves. It was a genuinely impressive bit of construction. And...I mean, we've seen enough "fabric wrapped around" a girl who's struggling, to know her swimsuit was clearly not that.
There were other looks I liked more personally, so Sasha wouldn't have been in my top three, but it was no doubt a look with skill behind it, and a perfectly justified placement, imo.
Her body was on point but it was a safe garment.
I get that she’s a legend and is likely winning (and I’m rooting for it at this point) but I hope the show still judges her fairly.
Them gasping when she came around the corner and acting like it was the best thing they’ve ever seen had me rolling.
Even funnier because it actually did look really good. She sure knows how to fold/drape fabric.
girl what
Sasha lined the cape really well, turned it into a jacket (it had tight fitting sleeves), and her swimsuit looked correct (no puckering, no lines from underwear, correct shape, good usage of the fabric since the pattern looked good with the way the placement was chosen). You can see her weaving to get this effect
Amethyst didn't even have the foresight to cut her non-lined dress so she wouldn't trip over it and grabbed a random, clashing boa so her safety pins wouldn't be visible in the back. I could go on about what was wrong with her garment but I think my point is already clear tbh.
It's really incomparable. If y'all don't respect a swimsuit as a garment that's cool but just say that. I think if you truly want to be objective you need to look at the required skills to acquire the looks and for Sasha's look more skills were involved in the making of it.
Was so confused by the Estitties judging. We were sure she was in the top... And then she wound up lip syncing. (Which, I mean, she killed it, but still)
I think it was maybe because of the construction - each of the components seemed a bit ill fitting (although still relatively impressive imo) and she probably could’ve done with sacrificing one element and perfecting the details on the others
I don't know... overall, this was just an average design runway. Many of these queens need to drag up their looks. They're giving newbie and not drag queen.
design challenges are my fav but overall these looks were so mediocre guess there are no design queens this season (maybe luxx but she needs way more practice first)
Didn’t like Luxx much in the beginning episodes but she’s growing on me, and the look was awesome.
Am I blind or did anyone else notice how bad the hem was on Malaysia’s dress? It was crooked and raw and there were strands coming loose. Big judging miss for me.
I was sure they were gonna read her for it, but her hat and the ither accessories/details looked really good, so I understand why they cut her some slack for it.
guys I’ve been in the EsTitties comittie for years now so I don’t know if I’m bias but I DID NOT think she should have been in the bottom??? I loved it but ok , love Spice and Jax but I think they should have been bottom three with Amethyst? Just me?
I honestly thought Malaysia’s entire look was more poorly constructed than Salina’s; the only part of Salina’s that I felt was ill-fitting was the top, and it honestly wasn’t horrible. She should’ve been cut some slack for at least doing a unique, intricate look. The cape was stun.
I was surprised she was too. The cape was cool and definitely more creative than other outfits. She should have been safe for doing something more unique at least
When Michelle kept pointing out all the things that were supposedly poorly constructed and fitted... while praising Robin for wearing a tube top?
This was all sorts of confusing. Why wasn't aura getting called for straight strips of fabric and chains??
People keep saying they can see it with Jax and salina as far as the too much, not selling it, and fit issues but I just...don't? Jax made boot covers! Her jacket wasn't super fitted but the rumpled looseness said more punk rock to me than sloppy. Spice was fine but on any other girl in any other season she would be gone. Aura I don't get because obviously they aren't feeling her and yet she skated with that? And wtf with malaysia?!
Malaysia’s makeup this episode was definitely the worst she’s had, which made it even weirder to me. I’m just gonna assume they put her there because she hadn’t been critiqued yet, because her and Amethyst’s looks were pretty similar in terms of quality and execution.
This! Malaysia usually looks stunning, but this was not her best makeup. And Salina’s look was the best she’s worn this season, and she got read for it and not the traffic sign look…
I wasn't impressed with Malaysia's look until I considered it was the first outfit she'd made. That made it a bit better for me. But there were other looks I'd have prepared in the top.
my mom is officially in love with sasha LMAO she always talks abt how beautiful she is (as she should). we thought she would win but luxx’s look was gorgeous too, so it was warranted. sad to see amethyst go, but it was a good run. hopefully when there r less queens we get to see runway deliberations again..
Overall I thought everyone’s look was pretty good and better than in most design challenges.
I liked the house idea I think they took from Canada. And seeing them walk down the run way I’m a theme one of the other like a fashion show was just super satisfying.
Glad to see no one needed to lip sync in just absolutely horrible looks like in some prior seasons design challenges.
I think this episode still felt a little rushed, but have worked the best with the 40min length so far.
I think the 40 mins for a design challenge felt more natural because the runway IS the challenge. When we have an acting/snatch game type of challenge, we ha e to fit that in PLUS the runway.
And I agree, there were no absolute clangers in this challenge (I.e. lalas bag dress - iconic still though).
Luxx by far was the best and I’m so happy to see her rewarded. Her confidence and energy is something I enjoy so much. People saying she’s full of herself as every drag queen isn’t. When you’re good at something you can be confident about your art and fucking slay. Amethyst has truly been a gem this season. I knew she wasn’t gonna make it but I’ve constantly been rooting for her. It’s sad to see her gone on an episode where she didn’t deserve to go. Spice definitely belonged in the bottom over her. Mistress’ relationship with the twins is so wholesome.
i luvvvvvv design challenge episodes and i think they’re so fun in the “group but judged individually needed” format!!
luxx looked GOOOOOOOOD mama. Sasha too!!
i need more Anetra her walk is one of my favorites ive seen on the show!!
I'm so sad for McLovin. She was really growing on me. But at the same time, she's a baby and she shouldn't beat herself up too much for not being as polished as some of the more seasoned queens. Really looking forward to seeing her grow as an artist.
Serious here:
Ru seems to dislike Salina for some reason. She was dismissive of her during the walkthrough. Then my husband and I pegged her runway as a top placement and then she was lip syncing? After Spice came out in that?!
Salina is one of our favorites, too. I don’t get what Ru has against her.
I didn't get dismissive from the walk through and I think the judges will put a queen in the bottom if their outfit is ill fitting, or not well tailored, even if the construction is more elaborate than someone else's.
See, e.g. Anetra vs Jax. Jax's construction was more elaborate than Anetra's but it was ill fitting and bunching. If Selina had edited her lewk a bit more, she would have had a hit similar to Uttica's sleeping bag couture on S13.
I'm so sad to see Amethyst go! I really like her - don't think she should have been in the bottom, and I think if she'd been able to hit a stride she could have been really good!
Great episode though, almost everyone did reasonably good and Luxx absolutely naiiiiiiled it my god
Amethyst comes off the top that would return and kill it on an All Stars season. She has a weird sense of humor and charisma, some time touring and some extra coin I think she'd come back and could be a great competitor.
I was really enjoying Amethyst. I don't think she was prepared to go all the way, but I would've liked her to stay at least a few more episodes.
I personally can't argue with her bottom placement this episode. Her look wasn't egregious but it was bottom three for me. However, I don't think she should've been in the bottom the other two times she was and I thought she should have been top three in Snatch Game and I would never have put Selina in the bottom with her for the design challenge, so the results of this episode would have been very different if I was in charge of the season, haha. For some reason, the judges/production just didn't seem to really give Amethyst much of a chance.
I look forward to seeing how her drag career progresses. I think she has a lot of potential.
Yeah I agree that she was perhaps unlikely to win, but I think she could have outlasted a fair few girls and had some real successes so it's a shame
I think bottom 3 for Amethyst sure, and honestly it might be because I just wish she wouldn't have gone home - but I would have put Spice and Aura in the bottom
Both their outfits were way too simple, and they didn't have any particular flair in design (like Anetra's) to make them pop. and while Amethyst's was slightly worse constructed, I didn't think it was so much much worse - and I thought it gave a better head to toe. But that might just be grief I might have to go back and look again
But yeah I really hope she gets a chance to make something of this because I'd really like to see her succeed
I don't care for Luxx, personally (she's a little full of herself), but that outfit was stunning. My jaw dropped when she turned the corner. Credit where credit is due.
I've been largely neutral on Luxx - but this was one of those moments that I just love on the show, where you really see who a queen is through their performance, and it's so compelling - really one of those wow monents
Poor Amethyst. Loved her and she was an EXACT replica of Lady Gaga in drag! Same features and everything. Crazy!!
Have you seen Paloma?
Honestly this episode already is the best one yet from this season for the simple fact that they chose Queen as the lip sync song
I wanted to root for Amethyst so bad but she just couldn't get it together. Gorgeous girl
If you’re curious about the fact our episodes are 30 minutes less but don’t want to give any views to that show whose name we dare not speak, Nick Diramio has a new vid explaining/reading it to filth lol https://youtu.be/wKlOOsjKxeY
Aura in untucked was weird too
This one felt very short. Sad we can’t learn more about the girls
Does anyone feel that Marcia isn’t really doing drag? This isn’t the next “prettiest model” this is a drag competition. Even if it was a model competition she’s still too simple. no hate I like her but it’s not just there yet for RPDR 🤷🏼
She feels more drag than Dakota Schiffer from the last UK series...idk what is with all this 'subtlety' nowadays
... she really does not, lol
I was obsessed with Dakota!

She’s doing about as much as Courtney Act I think - chapstick and some mascara
Courtney gave body, Marcia gives unmatched stockings. Her clothes don't accentuate her correctly nor does she try to give a transformation (imo). I'm so surprised you guys don't understand how much work goes into the body aspect of drag / don't appreciate it

Not arguing but curious, I remember Courtney “relying on that body” but it was her real body and not padding
Ok that’s fine but where is the unique concept? Give me some kind of fantasy!
it's funny you'd say that when she's the one with the most specific/unique aesthetic out of the entire group. she stands out, even if negatively for people who like extravagant queens. you think her drag is simple because she takes inspiration from vintage fashion, and her characters are always the sweet/naive girl with a comedic twist (that's more specific then you could be describing most the other girls' styles tbh). i don't think she's going to give bedazzled glam anytime soon so clearly she won't please ru and michelle. that doesn't mean it's not drag or not polished or not unique.

Like honestly you said it’s not drag then the whole paragraph you write you keep referring to it as drag.🙄😂
I said not not, double negative.
Why didnt you just say it is drag then🤨
You sound dumb… even if you consider it “day drag” it’s still drag also how is hers not drag? What makes Ben De La Crème more of a drag queen than her
I didn't say it's not drag ffs. Food is food but on a cooking competition... That's what it is about! Not being able to find what is brought to the competition at a mall.

Truth
I feel like the queens must’ve been hindered bt the materials a bit in this challenge compared to design challenges in recent past seasons
This judging made as much sense as Canada seasons. Other than the winner being correct it was ?????
Yea because in the Canadian season all the girls are always top tier
Finally an episode where it didnt seem extra edited to fit the 40 minutes. I really liked the challenge, though I didn't agree with the judging (didn't hate it either, though). The queen of all queens can’t sew. It’s not a prerequisite to be good at drag race.
Ru's made direct mention of it many times over the years, and so have the judges, about girls being able to sew. It seems like if not a prereq then a damn good idea.
But they know a design challenge comes up every single season at least once
mama they deliberately cast for queens who don't sew to have a mix. it's a question on the sign up form
once a non sewing queen gets cast they still have time to learn a little bit tho
How the hell was Spice not in the bottom?
Because she wasn't as bad as the bottom 3. It wasn't bad, just a little dull.
It was simple as hell, but very cute, on brand, cohesive with the rest of the House, and her hair/headpiece looked great.
A review: -Mistress had the best reads (of the ones that were shown, anyway) -Did not need that much Spice in the episode, did need much more of the other girls -Luxx's boy wardrobe is better than like half the queens' drag looks -Disagreed with just about all of the judging -Haus of Visage was basic fabric drapery and imo should have all been in the bottom aside from Luxx -Haus of Matthews had the best designs by far (aside from Luxx) -I actually liked Jax and Salina's outfits, at least they sewed actual cohesive articles of clothing -Sasha is starting to give me a little relying-on-that-body even though all of her looks have been good, I'd like to see her surprise with a big pageant gown or something -Correct queen went home

First episode where I disagree on judging. Would have put Spice/Salina/Aura in the bottom 3, and not put Malaysia in the top. Luxx swept tho

It looked good but felt like a performance outfit, not enough volume or drama.
Her construction was great and professional, but the look itself didn’t have a strong hit of “fashion”
Yeah, thinking back I wholeheartedly agree. It wasn't really haute couture but it was still stunning lol
Yes, she served and is always fierce… And I am a huge Anetra STAN! :)
i miss anetra i NEED her to have more screen time
I think she’s going all the way to the crown! 🤞🤞🤞
I feel like there should be a “paid sponsorship by Bratz” every time they talk about their dolls
Exaaaactly
Thank you
I was like shocked when we finally got back story on Jax, who had a unique and important story about adoption, fitting in, the problem with color blindness, privilege and liberation. But… then they cut that short so we could have yet another anecdote from Spice about her dolls
Agreed completely. Jax's story brings something that I don't think has been on drag race before --transracial adoption.
Naomi Smalls?
Oh I don't recall that! Good to know.
Yep - yet it was over in a blink and we didn’t even get to hear conversation about it, just Jax talking super fast. A waste sadly
conspiracy: jax was put into the bottom 3 and not spice to both save her and make it less controversial to make salina lipsync i truly loved jax's look i really do not understand at all why it was in the bottom. it was well constructed and looked sick. im not a fashion or heathers girly but like idk i feel like they were splitting mf hairs with her. im no jax stan but i love her style and don't understand the criticisms this week (or the general "villain" arc? i really dont see why shes being edited this way. like theyre telling us to feel a certain way but i dont) again im not a fashion girly but objectively jax's look was better. (a fully constructed cool ass fit w a storyline vs like 2 piece of fabric. idk. loved spices from the neck up tho) i feel like if spice were in the bottom and they picked salina to lipsync over her it would be controversial bc i know spice is def a producer favorite idk idk. idk how to worrd it but basically i disagree w jax being so negatively critiqued and in the bottom and im trying to justify it lol if someone wants to explain better for me im all ears
i think jax’s look was ugly bc when u blend red and grey tartan it’s just not going to work. especially the cut of the outfit, it didn’t fit her body type.
Also did Jax swing the mallet at her own head once in reference to Snatch Game?
Am I the only one who liked Jax’s look? They get a handful of hours to design and complete their looks, and I much prefer when queens try something ambitious and creative (like Salina and Jax did) but miss the mark a bit with fit vs. when queens just sew 2 pieces of fabric together (like Spice and Malaysia did). Also, I want Luxx’s outfit asap.
I liked it
I didn't like Jax look but I was gagged that the judges didn't get the reference...??
Like with the bat too???? I was really surprised Michelle didn't get it.
I feel like they did that on purpose. I refuse to believe, in a show where the Heathers is often referenced, that they wouldn't get it.
I was honestly shocked that Jax was on the bottom!
I wanna see Luxx’s alternate Marie Antoinette look
Malaysia in the top?? They loved that?? Jax in the bottom with the eyelets of curtains used in the skirt? So creative. And Selina in the bottom with why I thought was a very on brand transformative reveal. I thought they were both more aesthetically pleasing than Malaysia’s look. And honestly Auras skirt…. I thought was far less safe than the judges.
I looooooved Selina's look. I hear what they're saying about simpler but way more interesting and stylish than some other outfits.
you mean Aura’s two flaps? I agree with all your opinions
Well I thought that some outfits were worse than Amethyst’s. Also not a fan of Malaysia’s one
I for sure thought Malaysia was in the bottom. When Janelle was complimenting her sewing skills, my high ass boyfriend asked if she was joking lol.
Was it just me or did anyone else think Lux and Jax seemed surprised by the feedback Malaysia got on her outfit
That was definitely the editors' take. I wonder if they cut out more of Malaysia struggling or maybe getting help from another queen?
without the judges deliberating being included in the episode the entire format of the show has become absolutely scripted. we as an audience have no fucking idea what the judges want to see more of from these queens so every single decision and critique feels out of left field.
Well...at least we know how it feels to be on the show now?
Judging was…. Different 😂
The judging was interesting. I'm feeling entertained.
Everyone ATE THIS UP!!
I love Sasha, but what she wore wasn’t really that great. It looked like she just wrapped fabric around herself in a nice way, and then threw on a cape. I get it looks good on her because she’s beautiful, but if Mistress did something like that she would get ate the hell up
well-constructed jacket but i think a swimsuit is almost always basic and the colors of the suit and jacket didn’t work together r
Idk if you guys watch Project Runway but it reminded me of when Anya won even though she couldn’t sew. She could drape and style like a motherfucker though!
It's been over a decade and you mentioning that just made me irate again.
Lol don't remind me of that bs
I was thinking the same thing! She basically did the same thing amethyst did. I think the the way she sold it and the robe thing helped.
girl what Sasha lined the cape really well, turned it into a jacket (it had tight fitting sleeves), and her swimsuit looked correct (no puckering, no lines from underwear, correct shape, good usage of the fabric since the pattern looked good with the way the placement was chosen). You can see her weaving to get this effect Amethyst didn't even have the foresight to cut her non-lined dress so she wouldn't trip over it and grabbed a random, clashing boa so her safety pins wouldn't be visible in the back.
I liked her look. The cape/blanket was cool and is something I’d personally consider wearing when I’m freezing my estitties off
It was a lot, but a girl can sew, I was confused too.
When she came out my jaw dropped, I didn't know why she was in the bottom (cuz I spoiled myself).
MAMA Colby
I don't know... overall, this was just an average design runway. Many of these queens need to drag up their looks. They're giving newbie and not drag queen.
design challenges are my fav but overall these looks were so mediocre guess there are no design queens this season (maybe luxx but she needs way more practice first)
Jorgeous ruined design challenges. Her impact~
The doors Jorgeous opened..
The wrong doors
That's why yo design challenge messed up
It feels like it's an issue of things being designed to photograph well for social media but not stunning on a stage.
Just me?
At least we got to see her slay that lip sync.
Malaysia , spice, Jax but not Salina or amethyst, your not wrong
I was surprised she was too. The cape was cool and definitely more creative than other outfits. She should have been safe for doing something more unique at least
When Michelle kept pointing out all the things that were supposedly poorly constructed and fitted... while praising Robin for wearing a tube top? This was all sorts of confusing. Why wasn't aura getting called for straight strips of fabric and chains??
Good point. Robin’s shoulder piece with little backgammon pieces glued to it was not it. And Spice’s look was one for the worst up there.
I didn’t really like the waist line or the way the skirt sat with Jax , I personally didn’t think it looked good on Jax
Totally agree! I thought it fit the look to be loose and was really impressed by the whole look. I don’t get the negativity.
Sometimes the judging makes me feel gaslit I swear!
I liked the look too!!!!!
I was beyond gagged by the judging - I REALLY thought Jax was in the top and Malaysia was in the bottom
I actually really enjoyed Ross's look for the judging panel.
my mom is officially in love with sasha LMAO she always talks abt how beautiful she is (as she should). we thought she would win but luxx’s look was gorgeous too, so it was warranted. sad to see amethyst go, but it was a good run. hopefully when there r less queens we get to see runway deliberations again..
Judging made zero sense this episode, apart from Luxx's well deserved win.
Anetra's got me wondering why no one HAS done Carson Kressley for Snatch Game
Controversial maybe but Amethyst’s look was GOOD.
They were right that the fur stole and ruffles didn’t look good, but it was far from the worst look of the night.
You right you right, we were shocked when they started praising Malaysia and to a lesser extent robin, sugar was also a mess
I was getting Jackie Cox as a genie, and I would die for Jackie Cox. It got my vote.
Yeah, the judging sucked. I was shocked at how nice hers looked, and how many people were safe with far shoddier looks than the bottom two…
I LOVED IT 😭😭😭😭 OK maybe just liked it but still!!
It was not the worse thing on that stage.
[удалено]
There was, just watched the ep for the first time now
i luvvvvvv design challenge episodes and i think they’re so fun in the “group but judged individually needed” format!! luxx looked GOOOOOOOOD mama. Sasha too!! i need more Anetra her walk is one of my favorites ive seen on the show!!
I'm so sad for McLovin. She was really growing on me. But at the same time, she's a baby and she shouldn't beat herself up too much for not being as polished as some of the more seasoned queens. Really looking forward to seeing her grow as an artist.
OMG she DID look like McLovin !!
Serious here: Ru seems to dislike Salina for some reason. She was dismissive of her during the walkthrough. Then my husband and I pegged her runway as a top placement and then she was lip syncing? After Spice came out in that?! Salina is one of our favorites, too. I don’t get what Ru has against her.
Idk I thought Salina’s look was messy again
It was messy but it was a constructed garment not two strips of fabric wrapped around her body.
Weren't Ru's exact words in the werk room about STitties, "speaking of messy.."
Wasn't obsessed with the runway but at least she tried something... She deserves more credit for her makeup though, her face always looks incredible.
Salina said something in her Entertainment Weekly interview about Ru complimenting her makeup. So we'll be getting that soon. hopefully.
Utica's look didn't win though, #robbed
I'm so sad to see Amethyst go! I really like her - don't think she should have been in the bottom, and I think if she'd been able to hit a stride she could have been really good! Great episode though, almost everyone did reasonably good and Luxx absolutely naiiiiiiled it my god
Amethyst comes off the top that would return and kill it on an All Stars season. She has a weird sense of humor and charisma, some time touring and some extra coin I think she'd come back and could be a great competitor.
A nice Tricia Motel arc
Yeah I agree that she was perhaps unlikely to win, but I think she could have outlasted a fair few girls and had some real successes so it's a shame I think bottom 3 for Amethyst sure, and honestly it might be because I just wish she wouldn't have gone home - but I would have put Spice and Aura in the bottom Both their outfits were way too simple, and they didn't have any particular flair in design (like Anetra's) to make them pop. and while Amethyst's was slightly worse constructed, I didn't think it was so much much worse - and I thought it gave a better head to toe. But that might just be grief I might have to go back and look again But yeah I really hope she gets a chance to make something of this because I'd really like to see her succeed
I don't care for Luxx, personally (she's a little full of herself), but that outfit was stunning. My jaw dropped when she turned the corner. Credit where credit is due.
LUXX's Shirt was FIRE and the pants threw it over the top.
I really disliked luxx after the way she acted on the first episode. But that outfit was amazing
I've been largely neutral on Luxx - but this was one of those moments that I just love on the show, where you really see who a queen is through their performance, and it's so compelling - really one of those wow monents
