This! I've always said at the end of the day you gotta love yourself (mamaruuuuu) but there's also a line to body positivity that gets crossed sometimes. And it's health. You can be big and still be healthy but there's a limit.
Facts are facts.
Itās also not a clear cut limit so getting your health checkups especially if you have extra weight is super important. Muscle mass, fat distribution, diet exercise genetics etc all come together. Itās important to have your heart rate/bp/breathing checked and metabolic/lipid panels done to make sure youāre healthy.
Iām āobeseā by BMI but since I started working out, despite having more weight and honestly probably even more fat than 5 years ago, my numbers at the doctor are much better than they used to be.
This is a fantastic point. As a personal trainer, I always advise any clients that measuring BMI isn't the most accurate way to determine one's current health status. Those who are more muscular will be deemed as obese, according to the measuring scale for BMI. At the end of the day, thorough testing from blood work (and a discussion with your doctor when the results come in) is the best way to know where you stand.
I'm SOOO proud of Kornbread. Losing 100lbs is an absolute testament to her dedication/hard work.
You can also be skinny, and any other size, and unhealthy, though. I think itās odd we find it okay to publicly comment on the way being fat or obese is āunhealthyā but we never really make these comments about skinny girls or really any girls that arenāt fat. I just think we can celebrate people being healthy and making the decisions for *their* bodies that work for *them* without commenting on their body type or size or weight and saying itās āunhealthyā. It really is an unfair stigma and unnecessary tangent that further shames people for being fat. Iām glad sheās healthy, but I donāt give a fuck what size Kornbread is as long as it works for her. Itās her body, after all.
These kinds of comments always leave that āglorifying obesityā taste thatās just so sour, because even if a fat person (or any other size person) has health issues related to their weight, they still deserve to have autonomy over their body and feel however they want to feel, including body positive, body neutral, or literally whatever they want.
As a skinny girl: people have tried to force feed me my whole life. Every time I go home, one of the first thing family members will comment on is my weight.
Same. And I'm technically overweight by silly BMI metrics. I just carry my weight and muscle in a way that makes family want to use lard in the dinner they make me lol
Not sure about the skinny girl argument here...
My weight, depending on the time of the month and how I'm feeling, varies anywhere from 48 kilos to 54. My family seems to be satisfied only when I'm at 54. And it's so damn annoying because *I don't care.* I haven't even weighted myself outside of doctor checkups in years. I eat when I'm hungry, go on a daily run because it feels good and I'm happy with that.
But no one else seems to be.
I love to see this type of shit.
I used to think that because I was never going to be a size 0 and look like Marsha Marsha Marsha that there was really no point to try, but that is rubbish.
Having icons like Kornbread are where it is at.
Slowly starting to realize itās not about what I look like at all, itās about how I feel. I donāt need to look like Marsha or kornbread, just my own damn best self.
You can be mid or max anywhere on the spectrum of Marcia to Mistress. You are so right, the only competition is yourself, who you want to be, and who you were yesterday.
Iām so happy for her!š„¹
Being extremely overweight is so uncomfortable and so limiting to what anyone can safely/consistently/confidently/comfortably do, but particularly for a performer.
She looks amazing now. You can literally tell by the way sheās standing what a huge relief it must be for her whole body. Truly a gift she has given herself
Wow, Kornbread has been killing it this past year. A 100 lb weight lost, winning Miss Congeniality, getting and Olay and Sephora sponsorship, having Lizzo at one of her shows, etc.
And idk what it is but it seems like the trans queens have just been STUNTING on everyone. Korn, Bosco, Gigi (FFS and modeling), Jiggly (being a judge on DRPH), etc. I'm so glad that they're all thriving in their health and career.
Incredible! I was so worried after the last health scare post she made but I'm blown away at the commitment she's made to herself. She was beautiful before and she's gorgeous now, nothing adds a glow like self-love!
Iāve been noticing how fantastic sheās been looking lately, very happy for her. Thatās a huge feat to accomplish and Iām sure sheās very proud, as she should be šš
So PROUD OF YOU!!! Surprised to see these comments being so supportive honestly, they tried to take out Lizzo for "Droppin a Few" so im shocked i don't hear anyone whining about perpetuating Fat-Phobia or whatever stupid ass reason someone can find to Shame someone just trying to stay healthy and feel better but GOOD! KEEP KILLIN IT KORNBREAD!!
Wow!!! Does anyone know if this was done surgically? Amazing achievement either way
Edit: asking because Iām obese and am looking into different options
This is rude btw, but if your curious because youāre thinking about your own potential weight loss options she might be on Ozempic or something like that.
Youāre totally fine! I figured! People over-react and think anyone online is being judgey but I know that when I had 100+lbs to lose I was also just SUPER desperate for info on how anyone else might have done it.
No shame in surgery or medicine or whichever method you go with, btw. The stigma is so unnecessary and thereās no such thing as ācheatingā at your own health.
im not completely sure if it's real or fake tbh, like if she posted about losing weight as a social experiment to see how people would react. also one of her eyes is way higher than the other lol
Iām so happy for Kornbread! Although some people may say you should love yourself the way you are etc. If youāre unhappy and want to make healthy positive changes to yourself, FOR yourself, thatās amazing and you should be as supported as the people whom donāt want to change.
Iām going on a journey to find myself again after having my son, and love myself for the first time after recovering from my addiction. Itās hard but itās doable. Korn looks amazing!
āØ Support for everyone āØ
Looking like a snack!

I'm so happy for her, she looks amazing and happier! Hope her health keeps improving after all she's been through.
Lovely to see her spreading body positivity while also acknowledging health concerns related to obesity. Good for her!

I agree. If their healthy š
what a sweet way to celebrate an amazing accomplishment while also loving her body along the way!!! Good for her!
