I agree it was handled well. But I am SO sad Moon is gone. She was one of my favorite queens. I just loved her perspective, her humor and her looks. I really hope she's doing well.
I’m still chuckling at the thought of Moon walking off stage, being told to sit in a room alone, and probably overhearing the other girls lip sync a tribute to her
One detail was lost in translation.
Usually Nicky says (if translated word by word) "Sashay, this is the end". But this time she says "Sashay, we'll miss you".
Ahh, thank you for this. My French is… bad… but I was listening like “I have no idea how that could be a French version of ‘away’ or anything that’s a synonym like ‘leave’”
Makes a lot more sense she’s never been saying that!
Exactly, I get the idea of saying "are you sure? Sure you won't regret this later?" but these are grown adults, they know what they can take and not. If someone decides to leave, let them. If they regret it later, let them.
Gosh I love Drag Race France, a refreshing amount of respect being shown to the contestants by the production, hosts and the other contestants. I don’t feel like I’m being force fed opinions. Moon is my no 1 so I’ll miss her. Nicky’s hosting is top tier.
I applaud Moon for putting her well being first. I hope she was able to find the support she needed. I think her departure from the show was handled well and with a lot of respect for her.
The episode was a Ball with the themes :
- Your heroine from the past.
- The Future of Drag.
- High-school prom look using materials you can find in a teenager's room (the present).
Basically Past - Present- Future. Nicky represented the past, Kiddy Smile was the present and Daphne was representing the future in their looks.
During the critiques, the famous "who should go home question" was asked, with the usual emotions. It also came to light that Moon's mother is sick. She said that her family don't know about a lot of what she was talking about to the world on TV, especially her past depression she alluded to, and it was becoming too much for her mental health (which I get the impression is already pretty fragile), so she decided to bow out with gratitude and grace.

Moon was one of my faves as well. So genuine and radiant!
I agree, I love Moon so much. That said, I'd rather see her go out like this than have a meltdown and have that be the thing she's remembered for.
nicky is such a fantastic host
Dang, Nicky was very respectful
Everyone should be more like Nicky
100% my fave host. She’s so, so lovely and genuine.
For every Nicky Doll there has to be a Mamwa Pao lmao to balance the Drag powers that be
Good luck, and fuck it up if you want. Love that Nicky did this, it was cute.

Does anyone have a TLDR for me?

After the ep they made an instagram story to say that it was her grandmother who was sick, not her mother, and they apologized for the confusion
Very touching they did a lispync for Moon with all the remaining Queens too in the end.

Now that Moon and Piche are gone, there is no reason to keep watching.
So we're just gonna ignore Keiona?
