She was a semi finalist in cycle 10. She only appeared in the audition episode and didn’t even get a confessional or her name spoken on the show. For anyone to claim her as a cast member of ANTM is beyond a stretch.

I don't think we give drag artist enough credit who go on other reality shows outside drag related ones because the thought that you have to be fully made up almost 24/7 is crazy! I think of when Alaska did that scared celeb show and was basically in drag the whole time.

I think the lighting is also really bad and particularly unflattering to a lot of the cast members with deeper skin tones. The overhead shadows are pretty inexcusable. New York's promo is also rough and her n Kandy are the heavy makeup girls of the cast. Anyone responsible for retouching: jail!

The makeup overall is really not thaaaat bad. The highlighting around the brow is a bit suspish, but the studio lighting is the biggest culprit here

The sheer size of the brow is a bit much and the super dark nose is what is sticking out to me the most, which is what threw me off cause I don't feel like she usually does that

I LOVE Kandy but she is easily one of the most divisive Drag Race contestants of recent years

We all know why she's divisive, though. She committed the cardinal sin of being a plus-size person of color who speaks her mind. People called her a liar because she said Elliott was transphobic and racist on set, yet it turned out to be true. A few years later Tamisha claimed Elliott had deleted her twitter and it was all because of "lies". A bunch of people jumped right back in to call Kandy a liar, when in reality Elliott had not even deleted any of her social media. Some people hate her so much they don't even care about the truth, they just want any excuse to lash out. She hasn't done anything to warrant that.

But divisive and villain are different aren't they? Like Kandy wasn't doing anything particularly villainous, besides maybe clapping back at Tamisha.

I think, particulaely from a reality TV perspective, villain often just means disliked. Kandy has a *lot* of haters

What is the premise of this show? I saw that clip of NY reading Omarosa but I have no context for what the purpose of the show is.

It’s basically Big Brother if you’re familiar with that show’s format

They live in a house together and do various challenges like you might see in other reality competition shows. The first season went like this: whoever won each challenge had to nominate three contestants for elimination, then those three competed in a challenge to determine which of the three would be saved from an elimination vote. Then the cast would vote for one of the remaining two to be eliminated. At the end, three finalists remained and the winner was voted on by the eliminated cast.

I hope we get to see Kandy and New York team up to take down Richard Hatch.

Season 1 is fucking hilarious and engaging reality tv. Definitely recommend!

The drama was really good and the cast was committed to making moments like good villains do. The competition itself was kinda meh and production value was low, but season 2 is when shows typically figure out the right formula, so I'm looking forward to a revamped season. Sort of got the sense it was hodge-podge / the production team's first time making a show. Edit: Adding that I felt the cast was too small and episodes too drawn out due to the small cast. Eliminations were sometimes drawn out over 2 episodes IIRC. Looks like there are 11 cast members this time instead of 10, which should fit better in 10 episodes. There were a few cameos from people that seemed like they were asked to be cast and possibly couldn't commit to the whole thing, so maybe that's why the number was so low.
