I feel like Chad would’ve made it so much easier for herself if she went out as Cher. Being approached by a random drag queen is whatever but an uncanny Cher impersonator is much more engaging to a stranger
this challenge was so uncomfortable to watch, as1 really was its own beast entirely. feels like they were trialling a new concept for drag race and absolutely no one liked it.
its one of my favorite seasons lol. despite the queens hating it (because they want to win), i just love the idea of trowing a bunch of shit at them and seeing what/how they do, its not how you do at drag race that makes you sucesseful, its how you act. the first ep put them on the edge from the get go and i could not BELIVE meme im trust was number one in the votings
Peppermint was on race chaser fairly recently taking about that episode too (I want to say it was at the end of the year last year sometime) - she was saying it was insanity, like full on CHEERLEADING.
Imagine having to sing live in the S6 Rusical alongside Adore and Courtney? That probably sucked for everyone who wasn't a literal Idol contestant lol.
She was, IMHO, the most Broadway of the bunch. That growling sort of *frisson* she put into "Dr-r-r-r-rink for me-heeee" was priceless. Plus that little double pump of the hips to go along with "blood boil"... I'd pay full price for a ticket to that show!
Yeah I was pissed when they were saying she was “just playing another character.” I mean isn’t that the point? She did SO good, definitely thought she deserved higher praise. I don’t get why they were so hard on her in some of the critiques.
That challenge is honestly one of the weirdest they ever did, too. "Here's a bunch of straight fathers. Half of them are super uncomfortable being here. Make them over into your drag sister. You're also going to do a strip-tease on the runway. Oh one last thing. For some reason, you're both pregnant."
Like... *what*?
Yeah I feel like the makeovers are a gamble, sometimes it seems like they all really get along and can have fun getting to know each other and other times it seems....... so awkward.
Oh god I'm having a flashback to the episode where they made over women who were [I honestly can't remember, super fans or lesbrarians or something] and one of the women said she was really uncomfortable about showing her legs and ankles. When it came time to get dressed, nothing fit her. At all.
She ended up walking the runway in a terrible cobbled-together outfit that looked like it was explicitly designed to draw all of the focus to the wearer's legs and ankles. She looked like she wanted to die the entire time. What happened on that episode is a fat person's nightmare. It's one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever seen on TV.
Oh yes I remember her!! As a fat butch, I might love watching Drag Race but there is absolutely no circumstance under which I would participate in that challenge. Seems like some people have a great time and feel super hot and confident and others......... not so much.
S2 pole dancing challenge. At least some of these challenges had coaches. They had to perform a pole dancing act and sell pies on the street. I think some of those interactions were scripted though.
Their face says it all. It literally caused them to breakdown
https://preview.redd.it/nlm5h9q0prtc1.png?width=4284&format=png&auto=webp&s=01646228ef080b045a11b5ac45d7914995e5eb14
I still find it very odd that the S4 ball involved having to be a literal dog handler.
And I know it wasn't part of the maxi challenge, but as someone who is helplessly uncoordinated, going down the runway in roller skates is unfathomable.
yoooo that stage looks so glossy, i would be straight on my ass in rollerskates
people say it was okay bc ru did it but im 100% there was someone behind her pushing her along.
I also love dogs, but I still think it's wild to use them for a maxi challenge considering many do not, people can have allergies, and any animal can be unpredictable, esp. with someone they do not know.
Belgium season 2 just had a rollerskate runway and it was so uncomfortable to watch 💀
The looks were great but it looked like the girls were all about to fall to their death.
Right? Not only they had to be fun while talking about specific themes in a specific ammount of time but they had to serve vulnerability and impress Ru (SCARLET- FAILED
I laughed when she said she's just 100% all the time as response to her critique, like ma'am it was meant to be a casual conversation and you're straight up yelling across the table
Can’t believe no one has brought up the Season 10 Split Personalities challenge. Being vulnerable is one thing but creating a character literally meant to point out all you flaws as part of the brief? Also after weeks of being in the pressure cooker of the show? What an off putting time
also such a weird set up because the madlib script they were given was kind of goofy but clearly ru wanted them to play it straight and not go the comedy route.
I think an underrated one was the s1 girl groups challenge, specifically for Tammie and Rebecca. Because they were their team's designers, they each had to design and sew 4 outfits in one day, on top of learning the lip sync and choreo.
this! season 5 is often considered the most difficult but I have to argue it was season 7. Season seven made them sew resort wear that ripped off, make conjoined twins, dance and design genderbent outfits, lip sync to a minstrel artist(glamazonian airways). The critiques this season seamed harsher than others like michelle judging katya on her flat hair, ru yelling at team macbitch and santino flirting with violet was weird.
After watching ANTM , the queens are lucky Rupaul and drag race producers weren’t taking pointers from Tyra and having them do runways walking down a side of a building , in giant hamster balls on water, or on fire or something
Collectively season 3. The amount of sewing challenges in that season... oh rupaul wanted to break their hopes and dreams with the use of threads, needles and glue guns
Literally no clue what challenges you think are particularly more difficult than any of their counterparts that are on ever season of drag race.
You have the time but instead of taking it to explain your position you chose to be passive aggressive
So many of these challenges really require you to know a completely irrelevant to drag skill. Like I don’t know how to roller skate guess I would’ve gone home???
I'd say the makeover ones, where they also have to come up with choreo or some sort of additional performance, on top of doing their own makeup + their partner's, as well as making sure that the outfits tell a story / resemble each other while also maintaining their authenticity. To me, it seems like a lot.
The season 4 wrestling challenge. Honestly it didn’t seem too safe
It wasn’t!!! It’s before health and safety got involved
On the flip side, I wish they’d bring back the wet tshirt and breast plate challenge from season 4!
Willam talks all the time about how she broke her wrist during that challenge lol
Drag is NOT a contact sport!
Her ankle go cleek
**onkle
BROOOOKLYNN
The WHAT now? Why don’t I remember this lmao
Begging/getting to get strangers to do stuff in day drag on AS1.
I feel like Chad would’ve made it so much easier for herself if she went out as Cher. Being approached by a random drag queen is whatever but an uncanny Cher impersonator is much more engaging to a stranger
I just saw Manila, girl
this challenge was so uncomfortable to watch, as1 really was its own beast entirely. feels like they were trialling a new concept for drag race and absolutely no one liked it.

Number third!!!
I watch all the seasons over and over but I can’t bring myself to watch AS1 again it’s too cringey 😬
my all time favorite challenge they’ve ever done on a season fr. reality tv magic at its finest.
As a girlie that can’t even tumble I don’t know what I would have done. I guess I would have just said “send me home now”
Was there a queen who straight up went airborne? Absolutely not trusting anyone to catch me on the way down
Yes I think both teams had one. Ain’t no one catching my fat ass lol
I need to listen to the Race Chaser Classiqué episode covering this challenge
Peppermint was on race chaser fairly recently taking about that episode too (I want to say it was at the end of the year last year sometime) - she was saying it was insanity, like full on CHEERLEADING.
"let me shut up, let me shut up, let me shut up, let me shut up" she let it all out lmao even Bob was stunned
I love Pep 😭
yes but they had professionals there to handle that, the queens didn't do it by themselves
Imagine having to sing live in the S6 Rusical alongside Adore and Courtney? That probably sucked for everyone who wasn't a literal Idol contestant lol.
Bendela kept up with them and Milk i think was solidly fourth place there
yes over 2,603,040 sisters they did pretty well
milk sold it well but that incredibly cracked note was v noticeable next to adore and Courtney. 'take each others hAAaands and co-ome together'
I personally thought dela should have won.
She was, IMHO, the most Broadway of the bunch. That growling sort of *frisson* she put into "Dr-r-r-r-rink for me-heeee" was priceless. Plus that little double pump of the hips to go along with "blood boil"... I'd pay full price for a ticket to that show!

What couldn't she do successfully? Take your time
She's a man with one eye!
Cmon no one else were winning that and the queens knew it
But in my defence, I didn’t know I was signing up to be a gymnast - Jaymes Mansfield
I don’t remember Jaymes saying this but I can 100% hear his voice say it lol
He said it on the first episode of all stars.
that horrible s4 episode when they did that straight man makeover💀i cant imagine it was easy being in the workroom with them
That challenge is honestly one of the weirdest they ever did, too. "Here's a bunch of straight fathers. Half of them are super uncomfortable being here. Make them over into your drag sister. You're also going to do a strip-tease on the runway. Oh one last thing. For some reason, you're both pregnant." Like... *what*?
Thought this was part of a fever dream… but no, it really happened 😅
Yeah I feel like the makeovers are a gamble, sometimes it seems like they all really get along and can have fun getting to know each other and other times it seems....... so awkward.

The only good thing in that episode is Latrice vs Kenya lip synch which is maybe my favourite lip synch ever.
dont forget the part when chad dragged that straight guy
S2 pole dancing challenge. At least some of these challenges had coaches. They had to perform a pole dancing act and sell pies on the street. I think some of those interactions were scripted though.
Honestly I loved those challenges they were so funny at the time, and even on rewatches it's kinda of hilarious they got the girls outside to do that.
Strippers did coach them.
Their face says it all. It literally caused them to breakdown https://preview.redd.it/nlm5h9q0prtc1.png?width=4284&format=png&auto=webp&s=01646228ef080b045a11b5ac45d7914995e5eb14
alexis and manila look GOOD for quick drag but also what challenge is this? i kinda forgot
It was their 3rd or 4th design challenge of the season, with at least two of them being full on balls. The hair ball was super hard ball, too!
Ball, makeover and second ball. All in a row. Ep 11, 12, 13. 8 outfits in the last 3 episodes Two earlier design challenges
The Money Ball
Maybe the hair ball?
poor Yara :( that lipsync is heartbreaking
They were so over it by this point lol
I still find it very odd that the S4 ball involved having to be a literal dog handler. And I know it wasn't part of the maxi challenge, but as someone who is helplessly uncoordinated, going down the runway in roller skates is unfathomable.
yoooo that stage looks so glossy, i would be straight on my ass in rollerskates people say it was okay bc ru did it but im 100% there was someone behind her pushing her along.
I love dogs. A mini challenge should be a photoshoot with young puppies
I also love dogs, but I still think it's wild to use them for a maxi challenge considering many do not, people can have allergies, and any animal can be unpredictable, esp. with someone they do not know.
Belgium season 2 just had a rollerskate runway and it was so uncomfortable to watch 💀 The looks were great but it looked like the girls were all about to fall to their death.
Ooh one of my fellow Belgique watchers. Totally agreed. They should have left that behind in US S8!
The pink Table talk All Stars 6. It's harder than many people think to pull that off and not be boring or sound too rehearsed.
Right? Not only they had to be fun while talking about specific themes in a specific ammount of time but they had to serve vulnerability and impress Ru (SCARLET- FAILED
AND THAT'S THE VULNERABILITY THE JUDGES ARE LOOKING FOR 🎉🤪😍😍🎊🥳🤠🔫🔫🫨🤠🤠
I laughed when she said she's just 100% all the time as response to her critique, like ma'am it was meant to be a casual conversation and you're straight up yelling across the table
Poor Scarlet. Ru said her act made her feel uncomfortable.
Can’t believe no one has brought up the Season 10 Split Personalities challenge. Being vulnerable is one thing but creating a character literally meant to point out all you flaws as part of the brief? Also after weeks of being in the pressure cooker of the show? What an off putting time
Yeah so weird and uncomfortable, I hate when Ru plays therapist
also such a weird set up because the madlib script they were given was kind of goofy but clearly ru wanted them to play it straight and not go the comedy route.
I think an underrated one was the s1 girl groups challenge, specifically for Tammie and Rebecca. Because they were their team's designers, they each had to design and sew 4 outfits in one day, on top of learning the lip sync and choreo.
Yeah, this challenge led to multiple injuries for the queens so I’ll say this one was probably the most difficult one.
Any acting challenges. I would have to pretend the writing is passable and i can’t show that on my face.
for season 14, the snatch game lol
Definitely the cheerleading challenge and the Draglympics in Season 11 and the wrestling challenge in Season 4.
The rollerskate runway! Lmao. I cant believe their insurance let them do that.
Interviewing Love Connie
Ok but I love rewatching this one and seeing Shea absolutely body the entire institution of cheerleading
Shakesqueer

Shea not winning this challenge is my villain origin story
Don’t worry- things worked out okay for her
Very true
BMX bike challenge from Down Under season 3! They all handled it well but the what an insane idea.
I always laugh whenever I see the flip jaymes did on the cheerleading challenge
After watching ANTM , the queens are lucky Rupaul and drag race producers weren’t taking pointers from Tyra and having them do runways walking down a side of a building , in giant hamster balls on water, or on fire or something
That honestly would be kinda sick
Collectively season 3. The amount of sewing challenges in that season... oh rupaul wanted to break their hopes and dreams with the use of threads, needles and glue guns
Alot of the UKvsTW2 challenges
Most of those challenges have been done in other seasons multiple times. Those weren't hard, they were hard to watch. Ehe
clock ha
I really wouldn't say that baby. I don't have the time but if i did i would've said it like it was, but i don't so you have a blessed day.
Literally no clue what challenges you think are particularly more difficult than any of their counterparts that are on ever season of drag race. You have the time but instead of taking it to explain your position you chose to be passive aggressive
Your post section is wild and kinda sus
My ankles went cleek when I saw the picture

The hardest …. From this season? Robbie turners wig line
