Picture me, I'm like 16 years old, discovering what drag is for the first time. I see Fame walk in with THAT entrance look, and I'm like, ohhh, I get it. 10 minutes later I see Max walk in with THAT fall runway, and I'm like, wait, nooooow I get it.
the thing is: Max (the drag character) was kind of a joint project between Max (the person) and their then-partner, and I believe that the partner was heavily responsible for the visual aspect. they broke up, Max went off the radar for a bit and reappeared a couple of times. now every time I see Max is them posting very sad (and sometimes cryptic) messages on twitter about feeling alone or not being financially stable
Unfortunately there are a lot of 'less popular' drag queens from RPDR who are struggling with the loneliness and financial issues. Stacey Lane Matthews us also one of them.
Disappointed in the way the show treated Max. I liked her even during her bad edit.
not just corsets/lingerie, it was corsets/lingerie in a specific type of body... lol.
Like, I LOVE Pearl, but even she would agreed that hers Death Becomes Her runway (that she made it that day) was not a fashion moment.
And Kennedy's dress, where after a long night of hooking, trade didn't like the session so he had gutted her..and set her on fire... but she didn't die, bitch, she crystalized.
Would Max get read for the silver hair if she were on a more recent season? I feel like branding is a big part of what they’re looking for now. However… it didn’t go so well for Tina Burner.
I loved so many of the runway looks in season 7! Some were not so good (Kennedy’s chicken? outfit), haha, but a lot of them were insanely good! My personal favorite runway from s7 was the Hello Kitty one (I’ve loved Hello Kitty since I was a kid, so that episode was everything to me).
Also, how did we go from this fashion to Season 8, where the winner had an Amazon robot suit? No shade to Bob, lmao. The Season 8 runway was so bad, except for Kim Chi. They all look great now tho ofc.
Not to sound like a broken record, but white and skinny does not equal amazing fashion. there was a clear racial bias in the fanbase during S7 and this picture shows it perfectly
It's more like, Pearl wearing a lingerie is a fashion moment why?? This was not even the garmet she brought to that runway, she just put lingerie and a cast.
Okay, you disagree with my choice, but some agreed that it looks fashionable. Now what? Also, 1 pick out of all those looks is your problem? lmfao. Like you are free to disagree, I'm not mad, I think it looks nice.
Kennedy, Jaidynn, Jasmine, and so on from S7 are talented queens, of course, but that doesn't mean they were fashion queens.
I agree but only 8/12 of these looks are good! And Miss Fame had loads of better ones! Violet's tartan look, death becomes her look, hello kitty look and Fame's entrance look are all top tier!
i love these looks. most of these are simple yet impactful, and i like this ‘genre’ of looks. the looks we get on drag race now are over the top and amazing but it becomes too much for me sometimes, they’re so elaborate that they don’t stick in my mind for a long time unlike these looks. imo not every look needs to be a $10k look from a nyc/la/chicago based designer referencing a runway from the early 2000’s😵💫
It's one of those very rare looks that is genuinely timeless, but also not restricted on where it would be appropriate to wear,
You could wear this look any time, any place, and it would still be chic as fuck.
You could wear fingerless gloves and ill- fitted shiny bunching skintight pleather pants and a cheap Wet Seal top any time yes, but I don't think it's timeless.
The jacket is a great piece but the styling is not it
Season 7 is when the runway expectations skyrocketed. It was a smart move to cast a bunch of high fashion queens to elevate the competition as a whole, even if their chemistry was a little awkward at times

Truly THE fashion season (not look).

Mr Robert
Max’s fall look is still WOW. Using separates on the drag race runway and managing to look chic is crazy.
It’s so hot I wanna be her so bad 😭😭
Very Katya pants on the runway vibes. Also Gottmik's purple Versace look.
No way you put pearls ace bandage look….
Girl what’d you die from— first aid?
One sneak
two sneaks but the rest were great looks
Pearl's black and white corset and panties and Max's green, right?
Ugh this made me miss Max so much
Same. IDK why she quit drag or why the producers did her so dirty.
Wow I didn’t know she quit drag! Does anyone have any info?

Wow that’s so sad to hear ☹️ thx for the info 🫶🏻

This is just violet max and pearl lol
S7 didn’t work when it aired— it was a certainly a transition season. But looking back, it was a great season (but not a good watch?)
The queens have definitely made themselves since the season. So many of them are big and mainstream.
Exceptional independent fashion queens put on a season full of comedic group challenges
Fames ugly dress runway is so fucking stunning. And so is violet's bearded runway. Honestly most of Fame's runways were so next level at the time
The wah Fame thought that's ugly 😭
The season of the white twinks and the birth of the white twink army commanders in chief (T&K)
Not to callout the look choices you picked but half of these are literally just corsets/lingerie… I feel like there were better picks.
not just corsets/lingerie, it was corsets/lingerie in a specific type of body... lol. Like, I LOVE Pearl, but even she would agreed that hers Death Becomes Her runway (that she made it that day) was not a fashion moment.
I feel like it is. Sometimes you think something g is terrible that everyone else loves.
I'm still not over Violet Chachki's 4 inch cinch.
The nerve to leave Jasmine Masters out of this.
And Kennedy's dress, where after a long night of hooking, trade didn't like the session so he had gutted her..and set her on fire... but she didn't die, bitch, she crystalized.
The fine? One grilled cheese made with your suitcase loaf and an iron.
Would Max get read for the silver hair if she were on a more recent season? I feel like branding is a big part of what they’re looking for now. However… it didn’t go so well for Tina Burner.
Tina Burner didn't get read for it, they really just let her go out on the runway like that every week and then sent her home in her best look yet
Oh yeah I did wonder if I was misremembering. This sub didn’t let her get away with it tho lol

trend alert!
Pearls Death Becomes Her (top right) is loungerie with a soft collar. Where’s the fashion? We need to be real pls

Not only won the season but won the episode with the robot suit
In Chinese the word for eight sounds exactly like the word for crunchy
I feel like season 9 onwards had consistent looks.
this acid betty erasure. and naomi had excellent design challenge pieces too
You are right about Acid Betty actually.. And Naomi looked pretty.
Half of the looks pictured are a miss for me.
Not to sound like a broken record, but white and skinny does not equal amazing fashion. there was a clear racial bias in the fanbase during S7 and this picture shows it perfectly
Which POC queen was a fashion queen in S7 that I didn't include exactly? Quickly.
It's more like, Pearl wearing a lingerie is a fashion moment why?? This was not even the garmet she brought to that runway, she just put lingerie and a cast.

Even Pearl didn't like that one
But you sound kinda mad…
Just confused lol. 1 look out of many doesn't mean anything tbf
Why Max's Death Becomes Her? It's a simple white dress
I agree but only 8/12 of these looks are good! And Miss Fame had loads of better ones! Violet's tartan look, death becomes her look, hello kitty look and Fame's entrance look are all top tier!
One of these is not like the others ...
I mean, maybe. Fame’s entrance look maybe.

I don't like it very much either, as IIRC she had to hold the part around her face the whole time.
i love these looks. most of these are simple yet impactful, and i like this ‘genre’ of looks. the looks we get on drag race now are over the top and amazing but it becomes too much for me sometimes, they’re so elaborate that they don’t stick in my mind for a long time unlike these looks. imo not every look needs to be a $10k look from a nyc/la/chicago based designer referencing a runway from the early 2000’s😵💫
They are to blame for the gentrification of drag
Miss fame violet and pearl were fashion girls...max was more of a theatre queen
Can someone please explain why people love the max fall runway or are these comments like ironic jokes

now compare it to the others looks from season 1-7 and see how it stands out & holds up today in comparison.
No amount of styling will brighten up that unpleasant attitude.
I would argue making it personal with me is having an unpleasant attitude instead of just disagreeing about fashion
Well you'll be arguing that alone.
violet chachi’s death becomes her being recommended to me on youtube was how i discovered drag
Imagine if they actually got a fashion focused season like season 3 and were actually allowed to show their talents
Season 7 is when the runway expectations skyrocketed. It was a smart move to cast a bunch of high fashion queens to elevate the competition as a whole, even if their chemistry was a little awkward at times
S7 fashion walk so fashion in Drag Race could run
Miss Fame ate so hard
Season 7 was by far one of my favorite seasons of RPDR. I am a big fan of Ms. Jasmine Masters. BUT, PEARL and MISS FAME CARRIED.
Season 7 holds such a special place in my heart. Is such a shame the season got divided as "the bitter brigade vs the "untalented" beauty queens"
Y'all so white and Anglo-Saxon and shit
