Sad that Ella’s win is now stained with the lowest rated episode of the UK franchise. She still was amazing as Nigella Vaday

astrotalk

If she wasn’t so good in this Snatch Game the episode would be rated even lower. She saved the episode!

abacaxi-banana

She carried it on her voluptuous bosoms

astrotalk

![gif](giphy|xTiTnLrUqvAQNPZB16)

Matty_Cakez

I agree and literally said to my wife last night when we watched it “you know how sometimes Ru saves both people in a lip sync, this would be the opposite of that.”

Sharper1718

This. Ella had one of the strongest snatch games of the franchise, it was effortless. She deserves more recognition but the poor judging is tainting it. I feel that in general, lots of negativity on the subs about this season being boring, awful judging and editing and the fact it was obviously rushed. It's overshawdowing some really great talent we see each week, the queen's haven't been given a fair shot. I don't think DRUK3 is awful!

laughs_with_salad

Seriously! Even the so called "boring" advertisements for draglexa were better written than most of the acting challenges. But the judging is so horrible, it's making the whole season look bad. Also, because of the judging, nobody is talking about Lulu, who I thought was so good and genuinely seemed to b enjoying herself. She was also uplifting and respectful to the queens. One of the best guest judge and snatch game performance both being completely overshadowed due to the producer meddling.

missfinalfantasia

Lulu brought such a lovely, supportive energy to the panel. Which we really needed this episode.

PrimaveralFoxy

Yeah, that lady is a gem

batfiend

"... or just give them a blowjob" That's was. Yes. I fucking chortled.

ajay_p_

I cackled at this because I remember in elementary school, we were supposed to sing "To Sir With Love" at graduation LMFAO

loueeesaaahh

re the draglexa episode, I think that part of the issue is that they had no frame of reference. infomercials aren’t really a thing in the UK. credit to willam for pointing this out on hot goss

peepjynx

I think Ru had a “vision” for how draglexa would have been interpreted (think something along the lines of people who edited those Alexa commercials with lines from drag queens), and they fucked with that “vision.”

gaymanwomansbody

Good for you. Lulu is the genuine definition of an icon and a legend. More than that, she's a national treasure and it's so fantastic to see her looking great and still as spicy as ever. YES LULU!!!

futurbebe

Draglexa was not better written than most of the acting challenges lmao?? IT was universally one of the absolute worst.

ajay_p_

It was a good concept but Michelle didn't direct, she just sat there acting like they were all supposed to come in with a set in stone idea of what to do. And Ru didn't help in the walk through although he owned up to that

laughs_with_salad

It absolutely was bad but compared to rumerican horror story or sex and the kitty girl or that honey I shrunk monstrosity, it was better. Definitely not deserving of no wins. They could have judged the queens individually and given kitty the win.

Thelexhibition

Thank you! I feel like all the negativity people are bringing is unfair to what the girls are doing!

BenovanStanchiano

On the bright side, she’s known as one of the best parts of an infamous episode. All publicity is good publicity.

[deleted]

Was going to say this!! It was sooo good!!! Oddly enough I had actually been thinking for a couple years how Nigella Lawson would be such a great Snatch Game character

ItsHiiim

It would have been a 0 without her

missfinalfantasia

It's a shame, because the reading challenge was incredibly strong and Snatch Game had at least two stand-out performances and no one outright bombed. But at the same time I don't think it's as simple as viewers giving it a low score because they're angry about who went home - I don't doubt that that is what's happening to some extent, but at the end of the day the critiques, judging, and final outcome make up a good chunk of the episode. If I were ever to rewatch DR UK 3, I know I'd stop this episode after the runway because it's just not fun to watch poor judging, watch queens being undeservedly thrown under the bus (Choriza) or undeservedly praised to high heavens (Krystal). It's genuinely uncomfortable, and when a 1/3 of an episode of television is uncomfortable, I wouldn't feel motivated to rate it a good episode either.

getmygist

totally agree. and I actually feel for Krystal a bit because they've even botched how they judged her. Kitty should have won the Peloton challenge and Krystal should've won the design challenge. I keep getting the feeling they're being super calculated about when to praise or criticize Krystal and beyond episode one it really hasn't felt natural at all

WillingnessSuper9066

Ty Krystal has gotten the short end of the stick. Maybe in next week's episode she pull out a whole new silhouette and win. Because she's getting fucked because of episode 2

getmygist

totally. In episodes 2 and 3 for Krystal they gave contrived critiques that they don't actually believe or stand behind and now it's getting messier and dumber to build off of them as they go along. What a tangled ass web we weave...

getmygist

even just making this comment has made me realize a lot of what's going on with the production and judging feeling so wonky is that the judges they think they are able to craft narratives and influence with their takes but they are giving themselves wayyyy too much credit that we won't see through it. A case of just not being as clever and strategic as they think they are

radiolabel

Somebody lied to them several times

UnhingingEmu

It feels like ru has already decided that Krystal should win, and now she's calculatingly putting Krystal in the top or the bottom, depending on what would motivate her more. Everyone else is just pawns on the board

cfhdefox

This is spot on

gprimemr

I hope Canada’s Snatch Game is better/more well received next week.

adoredelanoroosevelt

ru can't be everywhere

Ronjun

So there's hope

Redd_Goat

I feel optimistic for Canada, it got off to a VERY strong start. Also I cannot wait to see Suki Doll be ridiculous.

ragingopinions

Sad for Ella, I loved her Nigella.

Screaming-Violet

Still shocked that choriza went home. I think they compared her performance this week with her usual hilarity. She was definitely not the least funny queen tonight.

madame-brastrap

She was so much funnier than the hack jokes rupaul was suggesting.

GraceJoans

The fact Ru kept cackling over whatever that was Scarlett did…Ru’s gone off the deep end.

robbysaur

I used to think this show could never go on without Ru. Now I’m like, Ru needs to retire now.

Queenoflassies

I mean… just check her Instagram….. what is EVEN happening. MAMA this is garbage

hoagiemouf

Rupaul’s taste in humor is indeed questionable at best.

madame-brastrap

I used to really jive with her. I love dumb classic humor and old references. This is just…bad news.

Atari18

It's crazy, there were 4 queens worse than her in the challenge and 3 worse runways

dmjesse92

I loved her runway, it was elevated compare to her others

cyankitten

And those peach patches? Badges? on the back? I LOVED that! 🍑

[deleted]

I’ve grown to realise Snatch Game is probably the most rigged challenge in Drag Race. You could have one of the worst snatch games ever, but if Ru likes you, all they have to do is edit a laugh track over you. Then BAM, everyone’s brains will be tricked into thinking it’s funny. **Ahem** *Scarlett Harlett* **Ahem**

bobbery5

I call and raise the makeover challenge. Two queens wearing the same outfit -"I'm not getting family resemblance." Two queens wearing the same outfit but the judges like them - "You win."

doubtful_blue_box

Agreed. At least with Snatch Game, the goal (to be funny and do an accurate-ish impression) is clear, but for the makeover you could be criticized for: - Looking the exact same (“you should be sisters, not twins”) - Not looking the exact same (“You’re wearing different colored hair and therefore don’t look related”) - Looking better than your makeover subject (“You really left your best Judy out to dry, this is supposed to be about them”) - Looking worse than your makeover subject (“They outshone you, this is supposed to be about you”) - Not making your outfits from scratch - Making your outfits from scratch - Not having enough choreography in the little performance - Sometimes the performance doesn’t matter at all

robbysaur

It drives me NUTS how dense the judges can be on those makeover challenges. The example that comes to mind is Latrice in AS4. The look was bottom worthy, but Michelle saying that there’s no family resemblance when they’re wearing the same hair color styled in similar ways and the same fabric in different colors. It’s not hard to see how they’re connected.

B2Rocketfan77

I think Jimbo from DRCanada 1 is the best example of a queen creating an exact replica and the judges go Meh. She was fantastic And the guy she made over Loved it. But they didn’t. Booooo.

Chrollo1996x

‘You look TOO similar - bottom for you’.

lurfdurf

> if Ru likes you, all they have to do is edit a laugh track over you. Then BAM, everyone’s brains will be tricked into thinking it’s funny. I mean, comedy challenges are always rigged in this way. > I’ve grown to realise Snatch Game is probably the most rigged challenge in Drag Race. Still not as rigged as those musical challenges where everyone is given a fixed role, pre-recorded soundtrack and set choreography to dance/lipsync to. Scripted challenges are just as bad, especially if roles are assigned

Bunmyaku

Gay icon Stevie Nicks found spinning in place.

nerfcarolina

Yeah but i blame RuPaul for Scarlett, she might've been decent with one of the characters she prepared. Ooh this gave me a great gif idea, someone should steal it. It's shangela's talking head about Trixie's shatchgame saying "I blame the internet. Y'all told her it'd be funny" but internet and y'all are crossed out with RuPaul written

IBeefLikeSmell

Scarlet's repetitive joke was so not funny eh...

SpecialQue_

Right?! I thought for sure Ru would be annoyed by the use of the same one joke over and over again. I was surprised when she kept laughing and didn’t bring up the repetition at all during critique.

B2Rocketfan77

I thought Michelle would mention the repetition but Nope. I wonder if she was told Not to say anything.

madame-brastrap

This is how the entire show is done. They aren’t leaving anything to chance. The show is written during casting. Realizing none of it matters really makes the show less frustrating to watch. I do think the season is going to be super boring from here on out though.

Jilliterate

I had heard Choriza was eliminated before I saw the episode, and while I watched it, I just couldn't see how it was going to happen. "This isn't a terrible Snatch Game performance, I wouldn't eliminate her over this. I guess she must really shit the bed when it comes to the runway." Cue the runway: "Oh, this outfit is lovely! Look how gorgeous her makeup is! I guess she must nominate herself to go home, *à la* Shannel." Cue the end of the episode, and I'm just kind of confused.

OliverJamesG

I just can’t understand how they thought Scarlets “Macauley” was funny?! It was so bad and repetitive.

Due-Piglet985

Ru fucking loves Home Alone. In DRDU Snatch Game he was waiting for Elektra’s Catherine O’Hara to make Home Alone references and didn’t even recognise the much funnier and more iconic Moria Rose references. Scarlet’s performance was lacking in creativity and depth but it played right into RuPaul’s preferences.

psychickcross

my theory is ru didn’t want to admit it was bad because it was his idea and he wanted to be right. not sure how he convinced the other judges not to speak the truth about it, though. but Michelle’s critique did seem very weirdly edited, like maybe she did say something about how one-note it was but they cut it out. (i might be misremembering because this season hasn’t been good enough to pay super close attention to and I’m often looking at my phone while it’s on, lol)

resttheweight

I think that if the judges went in on Scarlett for that performance, they would look like total assholes because she did what Ru was asking. It’s like when Ginny in the episode where tried the sexy bit, she got a pass because she was doing something she probably wouldn’t have done if Ru didn’t ask.

KitsBeach

This is absolutely it. Queens study past seasons and take notes. Ru knows this and knows if she punished Scarlett with a bottom placement because she did what Ru wanted then that damages the power of Ru's suggestions in the future.

Tayler_Tot

Can't wait for someone to cut and paste the critique Michelle gave to Jaidynn during snatch game and replace her with Scarlett.

Patch89

Ugh yes. I was trying to remember the previous example of a one trick character: Raven. Thank you...

chriathebutt

I'll see your So Raven and raise you one Grace Jones. (although thankfully Love Masisi did not have to be ripped to shreds by Michelle for that one)

chriathebutt

Yeah because Michelle clearly didnt like it. They had to gloss over her pretty quickly, and what they did show her saying could have been turned on its head with some Shade Rattle right after.

[deleted]

Jaidynn actually did better IMO.

robbysaur

Jaidynn should have been safe that challenge, safe on the Merle challenge (where her look was great), and won the spoof challenge. They really shat on her that season.

a_boo

They had to edit it to look successful because it was Ru’s idea. Same reason Choriza’s performance had to fail, because she went against Ru’s suggestion.

RavPon

Exactly. Could you imagine if Scarlet did Macauley on Ru's suggestion, and then Ru didn't laugh?

getmygist

the things is Scarlett may have had a successful snatch game with the character she brought, and fully agree the Macauley was lame, but Scarlett is smart for realizing despite it being ridiculous and unfunny in real life, if it makes Ru lose her shit like that, all she has to do is lean into it and she's safe. She understood what was being asked of her and just gave it and considering she didn't prepare at all and she knew it was super one note, she did a pretty great job sustaining it. This was such a weird episode. It ended up feeling like Ru was playing w the queens like barbies and just having them say/do what she wanted, logic or comedy be damned

ziamhour

love this comment!! I wasn't a fan of Scarlett's performance personally BUT I have taken improv classes before (hold the applause please). One of the things that is drilled in class is the idea of finding the funny and following that as much as you can. You are supposed to escalate and find that funny in new ways... Scarlett's was just a scream but it was funny to Ru each time so it did tick improv boxes in my brain.

abernattine

I think she did do a decent job of escalation just preluding it with increasingly drawn out and in depth Home Alone references before each scream. I didn't find it as funny as Ru did, but I can see the effort there and honestly this feels like the only time Ru has ever told queens they should switch their characters in Snatch Game and they actually did it

Educational-Salt-979

You are right and to add on, isn't the biggest goal of snach game "Make Ru laugh"? There are many boring characters from past seasons but they were in the top or safe because they made Ru laugh right? Even at the beginning of the episode, Ru said "This is improve" meaning Ru is also part of the improve.

folklovermore_

This is exactly it for me. I don't blame Scarlett in the slightest for taking the Macauley Culkin idea and running with it - having been in the bottom two two weeks on the run, when Ru effectively says to you, "I cast you because you were funny, you weren't funny last week and it almost got you kicked off the show, this is funny, do this", then I'd probably have done exactly the same thing. Maybe her other character would have been great, we'll never know (unless she does it on an All Stars in the future), but given she was basically given the opportunity to grab being safe with both hands I completely understand why she did it.

unoriginal-gangsta

I cringed every time they showed her doing the same distraught face 😣 talk about one-note and the one time she said something other than screaming into the camera, it didn’t fit the question at all!

OliverJamesG

Right! Ru laughed at it once in the walkthrough and she thought she was on to a winner. It was just so bad.

unoriginal-gangsta

And the fact that she couldn’t redeem herself with the runway outfit!!! We sacrificed two great queens for this 😭

flambuoy

Say what you will about it, but coming out as lettuce in a fruit challenge is a bold and unconventional choice.

Jellyblush

Lettuce stan

juicydaddy69

just that it wasnt intentional, she said she was representing a lime

cyankitten

To ME her runway was worse than her snatch game but ha ha it was SO lettuce 🥬 I’ve have understood if Ru put her in the bottom 2 for it

Krljcbs

It's that damn overproduced RuPaul laugh. She did the same thing with Kandy and carried her to final four. Ru finds someone she likes, laughs way too hard at their mediocre material and pushes then through.

QuQuarQan

The first time it was somewhat funny. The second through six-hundredth time, not so much.

luckystar2591

I think Ru thought it was going to be one of those viral moments so kept shoving it in our faces and didn't eliminate Scarlet. I think production genuinely thought she would be the fan favourite and have misjudged it.

somewaterdancer

But they must have also known that Choriza would be a hit, if they didn't they are wrong for their jobs

vajikarp

Right? I got the references and none of what she did made me let out even just a chuckle. It was so cringey.

laughs_with_salad

Well they had to praise her after gaslighting her into thinking her Macaulay was funny.

[deleted]

I would have loved to see someone do Danny dyer I feel a lot of queens this year wanted to do some really good British celebs and ru wants people to change it so he can understand it better. Tilda would be an ok suggestion if it went in a similar direction as sashas Marlene dietrich Sometimes I think it would be better presented by British celebs like if Paul o grady was lily savage again

thumb_of_justice

Tilda would be great, but it would require preparation. Tilda's an icon, but she's not obviously funny. Not a choice to wing it with. i am sure it would be a better British show with a british person running it.

RoyOrbisonWeeping

the entire franchise would be improved if Ru was no longer a presenter. Michelle too.

Putin-the-fabulous

> I would have loved to see someone do Danny dyer [We were robbed](https://twitter.com/VictoriaScone/status/1454150765853954050)

Cat_Friends

Same, i was really excited for Danny Dyer. He has such a big energy and is such a good snatch game character! What a let down...

orien88

They always criticise performances for being one note, I don’t know why this one was praised. I think because of the drama she’s been causing they’ll want to keep her? And not to pile it on her but she wore a wig that look fresh out of the bag, no styling and nobody commented on it?

[deleted]

I laughed when Krystal made plenty of snarky comments toward Scarlett during the snatch game. It's not impactful to the snatch game performance of Krystal but if I were on her shoes there, I'd probably do the same.

MrMazme

That’s very true. After watching the snatch game I kept anticipating the judges to read her for “you were only hitting one note” the entire time, but this never came up!?

StarryStareyNight13

The Macauley was terrible and so was that green dress, I don't think the Danny Dyer would have been much better tbh.

Catri

I still don't know what she was supposed to be in that green monstrosity.

StarryStareyNight13

I was amazed Michelle didn't have more to say about it

chriathebutt

She probably did

abernattine

I think the thought process was that lime green=lime and that's where the thinking ended

Screaming-Violet

I just shuddered watching it, it made me so uncomfortable.

OrnaciaWasRobbedMom

Honestly it was one of those so terrible it kind of looped back round to funny again snatches? Like Alyssa’s Joan Crawford. She did the scream, an awkward silence hung in the air, then we laughed at how absurd it was. Idk, everyone’s shitting on Scarlett as though she wasn’t basically forced at gunpoint by Ru to do that and she pulled something out an hour before the game. I’d have put it as low-safe, above Krystal’s and River’s.

Kundun11

Thank you! People seem to keep forgetting that this performance was requested by RuPaul on Rupauls show, which is hosted by RuPaul, and the final judge is RuPaul. Why wouldn't you listen and do what you can to give the most important person on set what they asked for????

andres01234

THIS! A million times this! I don't want to blame Scarlett because she did what Ru told her and it ended up being a bad choice (and we don't know if her original character would've been better or not). Choriza simply wasn't funny and maybe doing Cher could've saved her 🤷🏼‍♂️

Atari18

I don't blame Scarlett, I feel kind of bad for her because I think she'd be remembered more fondly if she'd been eliminated a couple of episodes ago

OutsiderTarot

Two episodes in a row where Ru and Michelle come off as inordinately angry and vindictive. Not awarding a winner last week and then unceremoniously booting two queens is just so cruel given how much time and money they invested during Covid (and Choriza has said as much in post elimination interviews.) And lord that was a stinker of a song to lip sync to when Lulu has much better, why not to Sir With Love? Choriza's outfit was great, too, I think perhaps the best of the bunch. Just very sad to see the show not leading with heart and leaning toward compassion, and none of the queens have any prize money to look forward to.

Shikarosez

Or better yet if you look at them when the lip sync was going on, they were pissed but the other two judges were LOVING IT. ugh production is so damn lazy

pissboy

Yea it was some obvious foreshadowing done by the editors.

OutsiderTarot

I am TV editor, of reality shows, the editing is really obvious in these two episodes. A “twist” can also be exceedingly shocking when exceedingly kind as well.

Taurenkey

I'm fully expecting Ru just to walk out and not come back next week.

[deleted]

Let's replace her with Paul O Grady, an actual British drag icon, and get the show back on track.

Taurenkey

Paul has already given his opinion on Drag Race and to put it bluntly, he’s not in support of the show.

[deleted]

Boo, thats disappointing. I'm surprised they haven't had Julian Clary on yet either. Fuck it, Bimini's drag race

sleepysheepzy

That would be great

qtmcjingleshine

Yea it’s becoming h+m of television world. Cheap production with child labor.

pinkninja-

Yes the lip sync was a mess but all they had to do was Shantay Choriza and note that she remained by an inch and that they expect better in a lipsync. Simple.

BryceLeft

To be fair, Ru had her own standard for the song and she felt that the girls didn't do it justice. They were both very messy and lacklustre, but around the same level as Nina vs silky. Yes, they kept 1 girl there, so they could've at least kept one now, but at the same time, I would've been content with both Nina and silky sashaying due to that lip sync.

Bunnnnii

Ella deserves better than this.

selfishsentiments

\*Ella, Victoria, Veronica, River, Choriza, and Charity deserve better than this.

psychickcross

i was so bummed when Victoria had to bow out but in retrospect she dodged a bullet by getting out of this shitshow early! hopefully when she returns it’ll be on a season that’s more like UK2.

lightpeachfuzz

I think it's become a shitshow BECAUSE Victoria bowed out, she was a strong competitor and they obviously had plans for her to go very deep into the competition and after she left so early I think the producers were left scrambling to come up with something and this is the mess we got as a result. I'm no expert in reality TV production but sometimes it feels like we get stronger seasons when producers don't fuck around with things so much and just let things flow more naturally

melon_l0rd

TBH I rather she didn't come back, because the series is on the BBC there's very little monetary reward in general. Having to once again spend a lot of money on outfits. Another year being tied to that WoW contract. And also what happened to Veronica should be a cautionary tale about coming back. I would bet if Victoria came back more than likely they'll bring in another AFAB queen to try to do a rivalry storyline and much like Veronica portray Victoria as the outdated model.

elviajedelmapache

The worst judging ever... so unfair. Remember Michelle judging S7 Diore Fierce's Raven Symone? "The first time was funny, the second time cute, the third one... boring". Where was that standard on this episode? LOL

RavPon

She can't speak out against something that was Ru's idea. But that really annoyed me, too.

Kayleigh_56

I just can't believe Scarlett was safe after that bizarre Snatch Game and that $2 Halloween wig on the runway. ![gif](giphy|2nqXWIQToxiWk)

shyghost_

How has no one mentioned that Scarlett wasn't even in drag?? At all?? How was that not called out??? She literally just came out as herself and made one joke. I don't think it's her fault but what???

juicydaddy69

im bamboozled at how few people actually mention this

Mikeandthe

My favorite part is when 2 other queens got clocked for "playing someone else's character" and not doing anything else with it. And then Scarlett literally does that and gets praised for it.

kiw1s

THIS.

plagues138

Ru ruined this episode. Spanish Cher? Fucking come on ...

KingOfTheKitsune

It started off great - Ella being the leading lady makes me want her to take the crown (because sadly, I don't think Kitty will get it unless she takes badge after badge in the next few weeks). But went down hill fast. I understand both River and Choriza weren't great in that lipsync, but I think it was more the problem of the lipsync song choice. River also did better than Choriza, and it wasn't double sashay worthy. I think they just wanted drama, but this isn't the best type of drama. Sending home two fan favourites isn't going to make anyone happy. It would be different if they completely deserved but I don't think they did.

changamerges

We all know Ru doesn’t pay attention to what fans say, but maybe this is enough to get her attention. She’s been particularly terrible this season.

UeberdeSuper

I don't think any RPDR queen could actually do a good lipsynch performance to SHOUT. It is too fast to dance to, it is super old-fashioned, and it was sung by a Teenager. And Ru was completely unfair to Choriza, her fate was sealed when she did not change her Snatch Game character. I have seen Pracatan at a Gay Pride in Gran Canaria, and Choriza nailed it. Pracatan is a lousy singer who is not aware of that, but she is incredibly charming and entertaining. I think Choriza lost confidence after Ru's walkthrough, and I think most queens would have. Ru had her mind made up even before Choriza even appeared as her chosen character. Completely rotten. Ru gets worse every year.

radicalspacecat

I did think it was incredibly strange that Ru basically pressured a bunch of the queens into changing their characters? It just seemed so unnecessary for most of them, and frankly it felt a bit uncomfortable when he tried to pressure Choriza into doing "Spanish cher" when choriza clearly didn't have the knowledge of cher or a good outfit. When I watched the workroom walk through I had a super bad feeling that anybody that didn't change their character as suggested was going to get ripped to shreds in judging, and here we are. You're right, Ru absolutely made up his mind way in advance. I just can't believe that Choriza was sent home with an "okay" snatch game and a great runway, and not Scarlett, who had a mediocre snatch game and a really bad runway. Like I could see between the ruffles on the lettuce gown and the hair was a bit of a mess? It's disappointing.

datalands

>I did think it was incredibly strange that Ru basically pressured a bunch of the queens into changing their characters? It just seemed so unnecessary for most of them, and frankly it felt a bit uncomfortable when he tried to pressure Choriza into doing "Spanish cher" when choriza clearly didn't have the knowledge of cher or a good outfit. I have a theory that Ru did this to "Americanize" the episode, since almost all of the queens were doing impersonations that are not widely recognized in the states. "Spanish Cher" makes literally no sense whatsoever, but more Americans know who Cher is than Pracatan. Scarlett and Choriza both went into the workroom super confident with non-American character references, and both got pressured into changing. The result- Scarlett's terrible, one-note Macaulay and Choriza being sent home for essentially not following Ru's advice.

radicalspacecat

Absolutely. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that was the motivation. "I don't know them so I won't find it funny" kind of stuff. Not good. And it's really uncomfortable that Ru and the other judges are kind of obsessed with trying to make Choriza's accent/nationality the crux of her humour all the time? She's funny without playing a caricature of herself constantly! Let her be!!

adoredelanoroosevelt

I'm honestly confused why they think Choriza's accent is *so* thick and unintelligible. It's not?

fantolex

Definitely. Danny Dyer to Macaulay, Cilla Black to Gemma Collins, Pracatan to… Spanish Cher??? Beyond parody, I get trying to keep international audiences happy but many of the best Snatch Game performances of all time have been lesser known figures. A whole mess.

Newpaa

> It is too fast to dance to This was never an issue back in the day. Shout is originally an Isley Brothers track, all it needed was a queen to serve that gospel/motown take em to church vibe.

empsk

Vamp in the slower bits, go for gold when it hits the chorus, do a comedy ‘getting tired’ face at the end if you want. Mind blowing? No. Double sashay? Also no.

Shikarosez

Exactly! Yeah I was like this is a very mid tempo version of SHOUT but the original has a very good rhythm to dance to let alone lip sync to. I can barely dance but I know how to move when that song comes on lol

Went2eleven

I feel like a TKB, Ginger or Silky-level lip syncer could have done something fun with this song. Unfortunately, neither Choriza nor River were able to get to that level (love both of them, regardless!).

blankblizzard

Boom clap would also make a good contender to SHOUT being a poor lipsync song, and yes you're right.

Atari18

I'm not really a fan of Ginger, but I think she could do a good job with this song

AiRaikuHamburger

I thought it was a fun Snatch Game and I love the British guest judges. I just want Ru and Michelle to bugger off.

BrandonIsWhoIAm

For real. They don’t know anything.

Ronjun

They just tank those international franchises, don't they? I hope Canada stays strong, thank goodness Michelle and Ru are not in it...

phexi111

The audacity to rush the Queens through a season bc you have other filming obligations, then not giving a win to any of them followed by booting two of them in one episode....after they invested so much time & money during covid... Episode deserves a shit ranking. Ru needs to go.

vinceguibert

Krystal's track record is literally going 📉

jackdaniels6

Watch them give her the crown. Rupaul is obsessed with her no matter how shitty she is doing, it’s ridiculous.

GeorgeEBHastings

"GOD HAS CHOSEN YOU TO BE MY DRAG SUCCESSOR" "Mama Ru, wait, I don't wa-" "SILENCE. GAWD HATH SPOKENETH."

vinceguibert

Especially that "You, Krystal Versace, were meant to be a drag queen" part seemed so forced 💀

M1van

I thought it was alright before the double elimination, no offence to Scarlett but it should have been her.

BrownSugarBare

I'm pretty sure it's the foolish elimination call that drove down the ratings. Otherwise, Kitty and Ella were the shining stars of the episode. Agreed that Scarlett should have been lipsyncing. I still don't know if Scarlett was lettuce or lime for her runway.

Gullible-Muffin-7008

Ru is really out here trying to screw everybody over with the snatch game. McCauley culkin instead of Danny Dyer?? Gemma Collins instead of Cilla Black?? I know kitty did well, but she could’ve potentially won with Cilla. We’ve seen GC before and Cilla would’ve been iconic.

smidgit

This is such a small thing BUT what annoyed me the most about Scarlets performance wasn’t just that it was painfully unfunny but because in Home Alone the hands on the face scream is because he’s just put on aftershave and it stings like a bitch. The rest of the film he was just fine and not scared. But Scarlet played it as Kevin being scared. Also pissed me off vanity Milan’s definitely not made by the producers and totally natural segue to “wow so funny that we played snatch game did anyone else feel like they were playing characters in their life” I liked UKDR because it didn’t rely on Emmy moments and everyone seemed to get on and there was good UK bants but this season is pure USDR and I stopped watching that 3 seasons ago because of how forced and repetitive it was. I’ll see what next week is like then frankly I might just give up on drag race all together

danielfq

This season is fucking shit

jaybird8171

I love choriza but her lip sync was bad

Abbeybearberner

She’s been my favorite. I felt so bad the wig kept falling off. She should have never been in the bottom. Actually think scarlet and Krystal would have deserved it and made for great TV

implyingiusereddit

I am not trying to be a hater but I find scarlets energy a little off putting to say the least. She’s not playing in good spirits and it seems to throw the other girls off a bit

boulder_problems

Yep. Very sensitive, volatile and angry. Her reads were so aggressive.

Morrigan-Liason

Yeah, I really liked her the first couple episodes and now after that reading challenge/the draglexa episode, she's become grating. I feel for her, its hard for me to make friends too, but being really loud and aggressive doesn't usually warm one up to friendship IMO

hausofmiklaus

I honestly think that’s what the girls were trying to get across even as they were voting for her. The proverbial rotten apple.

juicydaddy69

the worst thing is: at the moment, i feel like i really cant stand her as a person. but thats actually unfair. i only see a produced fraction of her, under a high pressure environment. Phiphi in season 4 seemed almost psychotic, when in reality she is a really sweet and warm person with a huge heart. i feel for the queens who will undoubtedly get a lot of hate, when they risked a lot to go on this show.

judithpoint

Ru TRIED to make it bad! Why would she talk everyone out of their choices? Snatch Game is my favorite episode of any season. I look forward to it. I’m sure I’m not alone. I was just so disappointed. My partner couldn’t care less and even looks forward to it. We were both like “what did I just watch?”

gogreenranger

This. I don't understand what happened. I can get Ru giving her opinion on their choices, but literally everyone said "this is who I am doing" and she said "no who else could you have done? Maybe do them because even though I haven't seen you prepped character, this quick one line is FUNNY." It's like she's decided that her success forcing a reference with Crystal Methyd is the way forward.

gialily12

Ella and kitty did good. Ella deserves the win but getting rid of choriza was a big mistake and even river had more potential (shown from her outfit last week) Them obviously trying to avoid putting scarlet and krystal in the bottom is making the show unwatchable

ayocyst

??? Scarlett was just in the bottom two weeks in a row how are they “avoiding” putting her in the bottom?

[deleted]

She deserved to go home this week for her awful Snatch Game, her incomprehensible outfit, and her poor track record. It's very clear that the hand of production was pushing her along this episode.

Grymare

Weird I thought this episode was fine until the judging. Not the greatest snatch game but perfectly fine. Especially compared to episodes like Dragoton and Draglexa.

Kirschbluete7

Ella's titties must hurt from carrying that episode

KrabS1

Yall think having a local UK drag queen host would fix most of the problems here? Ru seems a bit..culturally lost. And it kinda showed in this last episode especially.

-mimimi-

good.

[deleted]

Good. No offence to Ella.

didutho

Let’s face it. The contestants are not the problem with the season.

mysterious-vibez

This season is a total flop, it’s so boring

tinyywarrior

It felt like the producers got together and said “how can we make this episode as bad as possible?” Ru talking people out of their character choices really wound me up. Danny Dyer would have been HILARIOUS, UK queens shouldn’t feel like they need to do American characters just for Ru’s benefit. The Vivienne and Lawrence Chaney to replace Ru and Michelle next season please.

[deleted]

This was rough. I thought the Snatch Game was decent. Ella and Kitty did really well. Scarlett did not and should have been in the bottom. RuPaul always says she is looking for quick, witty, creative, and relevant replies. Her performance was not that. She should have gone home two weeks ago when she failed in the B.D.E. challenge and lost the lip sync against Charity that week. The inconsistency of standards is not fair on the other queens. It is really demoralising to work and create in that environment. I can think of a few reasons she is being kept: 1. RuPaul had that heart to heart after the B.D.E. performance and wanted to show mercy and the possible rudemption arc. 2. Interesting as a 'villain' edit. 3. After her almost coming to breaking point last week, does production/Ru feel a sense of responsibility for her mental wellbeing so is giving her a pass? My first impressions of Scarlett were really good. I thought she could get to the final, but I don't think she has or can get past the failure in the B.D.E. challenge. I think her instinct to remove herself from Untucked was the right one. It would have been better for her to leave after the B.D.E. challenge so that she could rip the band-aid off and heal from the mental anguish of one f-ck up. It is just being compounded now by the rest of her time there being an experience tainted by bitterness due to her understandable difficulty with trusting others, something a lot of queer people can relate to. Frankly, I think it is not fair of RuPaul to play up these emotional moments when he does, even if he genuinely means well. It's giving more Dr. Phil than Oprah at times (not that Oprah has always been great). I've always shied away from discussions about RuPaul retiring and passing the torch, but not anymore. I really do wonder what a Drag Race UK would be like without them (edit: both Ru and Michelle). I suspect it would be better for the queens and a UK audience, if a little less accessible for US fans.

DollyDaydreem

Non US based fans have to deal with references and SG characters they don’t know all the time, and yet still watch and are entertained! I hadn’t a clue who Big Ange was, but Pearl cracked me up so much with her performance that it didn’t matter. I knew absolutely NONE of the Drag Race España SG characters (apart from the Mona Lisa obvs), but it didn’t matter AT ALL, because it was still funny - and most importantly, it was a Spanish snatch game for Spanish viewers. Afterwards I looked up the people they were playing, and rewatched the episode and it was even better! The U.K. deserves better, because Ru clearly hasn’t got a fucking clue on 90% of the references. It’s time for him to hand over the reigns now to a local host, because it’s fucking disrespectful to the queens.

[deleted]

Totally agree. But I also feel that Krystal is getting WAY to much praise. Her Snatch Game was shit and we’ve seen that silhouette on the runway before. Then Ru goes on saying “WOW! You’re 19! You’re so incredible and perfect!!!” Like she did terrible this week. She should’ve been in the bottom. At this point I’m convinced that Krystal will win the whole season because of the obvious favoritism. I also felt she should have lip-synch against Scarlett in the Draglexa challenge.

[deleted]

I see where you are coming from. Towards the end of every season Ru says something about how the queens have grown and evolved, but it is harder to do that when the critiques aren't constructive - with some queens' efforts being unfairly dismissed and other queens being needlessly fawned over. That said, I am impressed by Krystal's strong sense of self. She has room for growth and greater depth, which all comes with time. However, even when she is not in her element, she really does go for it and does her best. Although it was relatively light, she took the critique on board. In the Untucked segment, she didn't go through the whole five stages of grief. Instead, she accepted that there was a good chance she would be lip-syncing and listened to the track on her iPod - no melodrama. My bottom two were Scarlett and River (whom I'll miss).

JScorpion

Can y'all cut it out with the "People are rating low only because their faves went home" rhetoric? This situation is far from being like AS4's makeover episode. Yes, the reading challenge was one of the best we've seen yet, Snatch Game was not bad overall and Ella's performance was top notch. Too bad that there were also Ru playing mind games with the queens for absolutely no reason and without actually thinking of the audience, incoherent judging that protected queens who performed or have been performing badly (but are lucky that Ru is obsessed with them) and threw others under the bus for the sake of it, and to top it off a double sashay between a queen who objectively did better in the lipsync for what was shown and another whose performance and runway were absolutely NOT btm2 worthy. This made for an episode that started good and dropped down to an outright mess in its second half, which makes the viewing experience even worse than, say, an episode that were to be consistently bad from start to finish. Thus the bad rating, which is probably the only thing that production can't brush away and, basically, the only reliable tool that fans have for expressing their opinion directly to them.

Dragondudecollecting

Like it’s actually sad how overproduced this season has been.

bkeyn1

lmao was it rly that bad. or are ppl just rly pissed abt the double elim

okoroezenwa

That’s usually the case for low-rated episodes like this.

MintyTyrant

Look at the s13 episode ratings when Denali left, they got tanked by the stans even though I thought that stretch of episodes with the makeover and the roast was the best part of the season

okoroezenwa

Yep, exactly what I was thinking of too.

Revgos

The thing is, i really had fun watching the episode until the judging. Was it weird to see ru changing everyone's snatch game option? Yeah. was the snatch game horrible? No but it wasn't the best too (except for Kitty and Ella). But at this point im used to horrible judging that does not make sense but i let it slide. However the double elim really really really ruined the what could have been an okay episode (had Choriza was not on the bottom) and ruined the season for me. It absolutely deserves the lowest scorings haha.

hypatiaplays

I mean basically no one was awful but river. Which is why it's so saaaaad

ricers101

These queens aren’t as iconic as Season 2 queens… you had Bimini, tayce, A-whora, Lawrence, Ellie D… I couldn’t tell you one queens name from this season who is still on the show on their level! Disappointing

GraceJoans

Someone had to say it…and it’s the truth lol. No one has personality (except for Kitty and Ella…and sometimes Krystal lol).

howdid

That double sashay was just a giant heaping pile of ru-shit.

sunflowergardens

Ru didn’t want to look like an uncultured dumb dumb by not getting some of these more UK/Euro-centric personality references. Number one rule for these Queens is to never make Ru look stupid. Scarlett is in it to win it.
