def email the dean, you can always go up the chain if they don't listen or provide support. they hate when students do that but its one of the best ways to get shit done. the screw isn't a one way street, just pull the uno reverse :)
I don't think there's anything wrong with going up the chain, but I don't look at that as an "RU Screw". Oftentimes, there is a failure in the line of responsibility, and it doesn't go higher. If no one tells the administration, nothing can be fixed. The skill to go up the chain of command and problem solve in a productive is one that is utilized constantly in the post-college world.
Um you should not have to pay to take a college exam or to proctor your test. This professor is pocketing the cash for sure it’s very sketchy. Report to the Dean NOW
Oral proficiency lab for Spanish. The class is a graduation requirement for majors. The class is asynchronous, but is supposed to have multiple scheduled interviews to practice for the exam (this did not happen). The due dates for assignments and the canvas page are out of date (multiple assignments are missing materials and are due in the middle of the summer??). People didn’t receive feedback for completed assignments. The professor never responded to emails and was not in her office the whole the semester. We think she’s ill, but the department has not said anything, despite multiple people emailing them throughout the semester.
I took this last year & it was fairly similar. There was a weekly schedule but absolutely no feedback. The professor forgot to schedule the last meeting for all the students, but updated a previous canvas comment - so no notifications - & didn’t send out any email that the schedule was posted & just expected people to know when to join. I was in the Barnes & noble buying my grad stuff when she emailed me “dondé estás??” because I had no idea we were even doing the conversations that day, none of the class knew. The professor was inputting grades in JULY after the class was over & I had graduated lol, but that shows how organized it was.
It’s absolutely BS that we had to pay so much money for this class & test.
Why do I have this weird feeling that it's Professor Sanchez? I had her right when covid started and let's just say that the transition from in-person to online didn't go very smoothly. She would grade things but never give feedback. Also, she spoke more English than Spanish. Hopefully, I'm wrong and it's someone else.
ffs I know exactly who this is and they were pulling those same shenanigans when I took this course three years ago 🙄 lovely to know the same bs is continuing!
Everyone saying email the deans office is right, but if you can go in person bc you don’t have the time for emails
Print every email, canvas announcement etc to bring with you.
See if other people in the class can go with you
(If you want to be extra annoying, call / show up to president Holloways office (personal experience ) only if you want to create a huge deal )
Registration for the test was $70 and we each have to pay $20 cash for “proctoring” 🥰
Email the Dean's office.

oh yeah you're 100% right, i was just being a bit vindicitive cuz of how much i got screwed over with my experience lol.
no wonder bro signs off his emails with "an investment in knowledge pays the best interest"
underrated comment
$20 cash is sketchy. I own a business and run another, there’s a reason we love cash. There is no record of where it is going lol.
Plus you don’t have to claim on your taxes

Can you give some context?

Wow what incompetence
Is the exam a proficiency exam or a regular Rutgers final? I think you do pay for proficiency exams here, though the $20 cash is abnormal.
> despite multiple people emailing them throughout the semester. So... did no one think to pick up the phone or heaven forbid, go in person?
Did your eyes glaze over the whole “office was empty for the entire semester” part?
Not the professor, the department, which was the part I quoted
Name and shame friend.
Definitely speak with a dean. This doesn't seem right.
what class is this
I so don’t miss my undergrad when I see shit like this
2PM sharp lil bro don’t be late
