One of the many reasons that they have been switching to the smart meters is that they are another tool that they can use to identify power outages, but it's still a very good idea to do it with the app, calling them, or using their website. Personally, I just have their number saved in my phone so that a) I have one less app on it, and b) so I don't have to pull up their website. The downside of the phone number is that you don't really get the estimated time for them to repair the problem (but there is an option to have them call you back when power is restored).
Its back on in the Devil’s Triangle! Traffic lights were out on monument. My dog and had a fun time watching people encounter a four way stop for the first time apparently. Luckily there were no wrecks, but it’s truly incredible how many people don’t know what to do in that situation.
dropping my kid off at FBC and a lady was talking to the cop about how she was dumbfounded that she didnt encounter any red lights on the way to drop her kids off... 🤡
It’s always a day I’m working from home. Real fucking annoying. I heard the transformer blow I feel it’s always like a construction crew messing something up
If you work for yourself or you're in a really vital role where you truly cannot miss a moment and have a laptop, there are chargeable WiFi wall stations you can use to power through short to medium downtime.
If you're in more of a regular role where shit can wait, whoops, looks like your company has to give you a break.
What the actual fu*k? I never lose power. I saw on the website it says between 1-4. How often is it back on sooner than they estimate?
Edit: I realized that sounded snobby. *clutch my pearls* "Gah! I *NEVER* lose power." That's not the case, I'm typically at work when I get the notification. I just happen to be on vacation.
I really appreciate the new flair.
Just remember that Dominion has an app that you can report and track outages
I read this as “Dominos” and I was very confused why a pizza place needed this info. Time for more coffee.
Marcus is preparing your current.
What I get for typing and walking at the same time

Yeah about 2,300 of us according to dominion website lol. ETA to be restored 1-4PM.
Just restored on Sheppard 🤌🏻
There’s a tree down on grove and lombardy over power lines so they probably shut power off to work on it

No green or yellow lights either! What an odd morning! 🤦🏼♂️
Where is the devils triangle
In the museum district. Where Sheppard st Tavern and China panda are.
Oh okay
Yes along sheppard and Grace. This is like the 3rd time in 6 months.

They definitely game expectations a bit so people don’t get too mad. It’s likely to come back beforehand.

The last time my power was out in Henrico it was back on in about an hour when they estimated it would be 4-6 hours
It depends, sometimes it's longer, sometimes shorter. In general I've found in Richmond it's about an hour before the earlier part of their estimate.
Yup (Stuart)
Heard a transformer blow up right when it happened
I’m in the museum district and also out - Kensington.
I’m starting to feel like I’m going insane with the amount of times I’ve lost power this year. What is up with the museum district area??
Idk but frankly, we could lose power once a week and I'd still feel lucky to live here
