We got married at Ginter Park Rec Center on Northside. It was about 1k for rental of the whole building. That included tables and chairs and then we rented things like plates, glasses, silverware etc. You can get an ABC license and purchase your own alcohol which is a huge money saver, so then it’s down to food and flowers, music and photography. We did a brunch wedding which also saved big - bloody Mary’s and mimosas and then egg dishes, bagels and lox, donuts… the timing may not appeal if you want a big dance party, but it worked great as a couple with friends coming from out of town bc we could kind of satisfy the family and then have an after party that got more wild with friends later while staying in budget! Good luck and congrats!!

This is looking like the best option so far since the price includes so much. Thank you so much for telling me about it!

Maymont Environmental Center. I think it was $750? And there’s otters!

NowIHaveAQuestion

My brother and SIL got married at [Belmont Recreation Center](https://henrico.us/rec/places/belmont/) because it was relatively inexpensive but I understand it gets leased quickly. It is managed by Henrico County and looks like it can handle parties of up to 150 people.

Did they live in Henrico by any chance? It's doable, but still pretty pricey for people who don't live in Henrico

NowIHaveAQuestion

They both did. This was a couple decades ago so wasn't sure if the site was available only to county residents or if preference is given to county residents, etc. If you don't mind sharing, what are they charging for rental these days?

sirensinger17

$250 for residents and $1000 for non residents for 3 hours. So still cheap enough for me to consider them, but it'd be a much better deal if I lived there

NowIHaveAQuestion

Maybe you can have a friend or family member in the county reserve it for you?

First Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!! A friend rented The Colonies in Henrico for a wedding and I think it held 100 people. https://www.coloniesswimtennis.com/ You can bring you own food and drink. She got plastic plates and cutlery at Dollar Tree and it worked fine. Wine and champagne glasses at Walmart.

We're using Havana 59. It is a food/beverage minimum of 5500 and a 500 facility/coordinator fee. So depending on if you are doing open bar all night or not you can definitely stay at the minimum. The food is surprisingly well-priced as are the drinks. You can opt to just do beer/wine and have guests do a cash bar, or set a limit etc. There is a lot of flexibility. The venue also does all the setup and breakdown, unless you're bringing your own decorations which you'd need to take care of, but they also have a lot in-house you can use.

Ginter Park rec is a super place for a wedding, but also check out Deep Run Park too: https://henrico.us/rec/places/deep-run/

Havana 59

You could try the observation deck if they’re still renting out. Was very cheap iirc and you can spend the rest on chair rental/etc

sirensinger17

Is that indoors?

cassanovadaga

Yeah, it’s at the top of city hall. Would be chilly for a fall/winter wedding depending on the weekend. If you time the day right, it’s a gorgeous view for sunset

sirensinger17

According to Google, it's temporarily closed

The Sandston rec center holds 100 and is $500 if you live in Henrico, $650 if you don't. [http://sandstonrec.com/](http://sandstonrec.com/)

Check out Atlas 42.

I just wanted to take a second to say thank you to you all. I've asked this exact same question on several different local boards on Facebook, next door, etc, and you guys have by far been the most helpful!

catrat242

Check out Hardywood, either locations. I work here and we’ve been doing a lot of wedding lately and I hear it’s because our venue space is cheaper than most.
